Not the type of book I normally read but I did enjoy it.
Great read, really enjoyed this book
Sister’s by Kellie Coates Gilbert, is for me, a first read by this author. The synopsis captured my soul. As both an avid romance reader and a writer, I am fascinated by stories about women and the relationships that captivate us body, mind and soul. Sisters is one of those novels. Ms. Gilbert writes about sisters and families with such empathy, you can’t help but be touched by her characters. Not only does she make her characters seem real, her scenes of Sun Valley and surrounding areas come alive. With Kellie’s masterful descriptions of places and events , reading Sisters is like taking a virtual vacation to Sun Valley, Idaho. During this pandemic and the travel restrictions we have all had to suffer through, a virtual trip is just the ticket to peace and relaxation.
Sisters is an emotional rollercoaster full of many twists and turns that perfectly portrays the ups and downs we all encounter as we reach for those soul deep relationships we women long for. I so related to the three sisters and their lives, that I found myself crying when they cried ,laughing as they laughed and rejoicing when they succeeded in getting their happily ever after. I loved that there were no cliffhangers. Yet, Kellie Coates Gilbert leaves you wanting more. More Sun Valley, more of the sisters, and more of the love and relationships that you encounter on every page of this excellent book.
I can’t wait to read more of what Ms. Gilbert has written. She has proven to me that she is a great storyteller. Well worth reading!
Fun, but realistic read about sisters struggling through the trials of life, yet finding ways to support each other.
Loved the sisters interaction with each other. Wanted to read more.
I enjoyed this so much that I bought the next 3 in the series….loved them all.
I enjoyed this book very much.
I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
I enjoyed the family closeness aspect of the story.
I liked the setting and the descriptions of the people and the area were well written.
This is my first Kelli C. Gilbert book, but not my last.
Highly entertaining. I have continued with the series.
Starts kinda sad, but ends happy. Good read. Characters could be members of one’s own family–ones you love & ones you want to shake!
Just an easy read
As an Idahoan, I found the setting of this book to be realistic and of interest. It was a quick, light read with reasonably likable characters. I may read other books in the series but probably won’t go out of my way to find them.
This entire series was a great book to read during quarantine. The Sisters are a very tightknit group who share trials and triumph.
I have three sisters and can totally relate to how different they are and yet they have a bond that cannot be broken. Family first !
A fast and entertaining read.
My sister and I are best friends and very supportive of each other. I love the way this book shows how the sisters are also supportive and also willing to just listen. A great read and wonderful characters, can’t wait to read the next book.
enjoyed, would recommend
Kept my interest throughout. Hard to put down. Loved the characters & storyline. Excellent author!
I found this book held my attention and I truly enjoyed it
Book one in the Sun Valley Series is a realistic story of three sisters who have faced many of life’s challenges and came out on top. Being the first book that I have read by Author Kellie Coates Gilbert, I was drawn into the storyline from the very beginning. The charm of Sun Valley was shown through the imagery and gave the story a magical feel. The three Abbott sisters, Leigh Ann, Karyn, and Joie have a close relationship along with their father. Leigh Ann has the tendency to play the mother role to younger sisters, Karyn and Joie, since losing their mother at a young age to cancer. Karyn has been trying to find her place in the world since losing her husband, Dean, who died in a skiing accident while training for the Olympics. Leigh Ann and her husband, Mark, have hit a snag in their marriage. Believing Mark is having an affair, Leigh Ann goes to great lengths to make herself over to please Mark and rekindle the spark in her marriage. Joie is the “wild child”. Excitement is what she lives for regardless of what big sister Leigh Ann has to say. What is in store for these three? Will Karyn find love again? Will Leigh Ann’s marriage survive or is the end in sight? What secret is Joie concealing? Will she finally get her act together and act more responsible or will someone from her past cause her to be more reckless? I highly recommend this great series. I was hooked from the beginning and have enjoyed visiting the Abbott sisters and all of their shenanigans! I look forward to reading all of the books in the Sun Valley Series!
Reads like a warm and engaging Hallmark movie. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
