Go to Mars, they said. And to Mars, we went ~We had no idea that over time, we would be referred to as the Sister Planet. A term which came to mean the bastard sibling no one wants to claim. Because we threw out all of Earth’s rules and live by our own: Anything goes. A place where you can be single…or you can date six people.Earth frowns at our heathen ways. But the joke’s on Earth. Centuries … our heathen ways. But the joke’s on Earth. Centuries later, we’ve bypassed them in education and technology. But like a bully big brother, Earth still tries to use us.
My name is Lady Nivea Gilleon. In a mating with four of the most powerful individuals on Mars, I become Earth’s pawn.
It takes the gorgeous man I threw away like yesterday’s trash to rescue me.
A Sci-Fi Romance novel.

Crazy worlds, lots of action. Couldn’t put it down.
A unique look at what could be!
Something new and very different from Ms. Marks! Excellent world-building. I can actually envision our world separating in just such a way. There is much to admire in the Martian lifestyle. We could learn…
I love Nivea, she’s a fixer. But fixers can’t fix everything, and therein lies the problem. She is bright, creative, and she would do anything for her family. Her mates are very attractive, their personalities blend harmoniously, and they all work to clear the air when concerns arise. Who wouldn’t enjoy teamwork such as this? Aramis and Jonas are a bundle of fun, but I think the one who appeals to me most is Malachi. You certainly don’t want to get in his way when someone he loves is in danger!
It’s a well-written story, with some tricky dudes who want something for nothing and will do anything to get their way. Don’t miss it!
Honestly, this is not my favorite book by Rena Marks. However, the world building was great. The political and environmental issues in the book seem eerily familiar! You can get drawn in by Rena Marks writing! My issue was the multiple partners- just not my cup of tea. Overall I would recommend any book written by Rena Marks!

The scenario is a bit too real: Earth is being destroyed and conservative extremism continues to rise, and the best and brightest are banished to Mars, leaving only the conservative monogamous cis-het WASP crowd behind.
But considering the diversity of those being banished, it’s no surprise that they excel at innovation and are able to quickly surpass Earth. Equality is highly valued, and unnecessary stigma is shunned. This story takes place about 300 years after the original group from Earth left for Mars, though it does provide a nice history and background to establish how this colony came to be. (though the fact that Earth could survive another 300 years is a little too unbelievable!) And animosities do not go away in those 300 years, and the relationship between the planets is anything but sisterly. Only when one planet needs something from the other do they make attempts to appear friendly.
The polyamorous relationship is well done; problems such as jealousy and the rut of routine are not absent, just different. Five mates together can provide a solid support network, but can also lead to off-balance relationships between members are able to spend more time with some than others. The relationship is not without its insecurities, but talking things through in a healthy manner is obligatory.
The story is well written with aspects of culture, law, evolution, science and history naturally interspersed between the interpersonal struggles and political struggles.
