Lexi knows I love this book. I’ve waited in line to have her sign it, and given it out as prizes to my readers.
I write menage, it was how I started in this business, and Lexi was my heroine. This book was what I aspired to. Her trio, Bo/Bethany/Trev were outstanding. I love that Trev was a recovering alcoholic and Lexi dealt with that issue head-on.
This was a fantastic read, and re-read. Great Job Lexi!!!!
5 Star Review Siren In Waiting (Texas Sirens #5) by Sophie Oak
I really enjoy Ms.Oak (Lexi Blake’s) style of writing and Siren In Waiting was one of those reads I could not put down. Perhaps because all 3 of the main characters are broken souls each searching for something just out of their reach.
Bethany “Mouse” Hobbes has been in love with Bo O’Malley forever, but she is tired of waiting for him to sit up and take notice of what is staring him in the eyes.
When Trev McNamara returns to his hometown with his NFL career in tatters, he meets Mouse and is attracted to her. However Trev is a Dom and he isn’t really looking for a sub. Bo is furious as he has been in love with Mouse for years but has never acted on it.
When Trev realises the depth of Mouses love for Bo he encourages him to join them. Will Trev and Bo be able to overcome their differences and join forces to overwhelm and subsequently claim Mouse or will she run away?
Although Siren In Waiting is not a long read, I found myself reading well into the night. There was romance, danger and suspense woven into the story and the scenes were smoking hot. The emotional issues that each of the characters has to go though for them to get their happily ever after meant that this book was at times raw and gritty.
Why is Trevor McNamara visiting Curt Goff? Who is Curt? I don’t like Bryce or Marty. I have decided I like Trev’s sister Shelley. I love that she cares for Trev. I love his ‘Don’t give up or in.’ attitude. Once he gets to Deer Run, what happens? What happened years ago that Bo hates him for? Who is Austin? Why is he at Bethany’s home? What do we learn? Oh my, that did not end how I expected! Read it!

Siren in Waiting is book 5 in the Texas Sirens Series. This is the story of Trev McNamara, Bethany Hobbes and Bo O’Malley. I have read the previous books which added to my enjoyment of this one but I did feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Bethany had her heart on Bo but Bo seem to get around to everyone but her not seeing her it would seem. Trev is having to start again and fix himself after very bad choices. Trev of course is attracted to Bethany and sees her for who she really is. Enjoyed this steamy read.
Texas Sirens Book Five.
Bethany “Mouse” Hobbes has been seen as a lesser human being all of her life. Even her best friend, Bo O’Malley, can’t see her in a romantic light. All of that changes when Trev McNamara returns to town and sweeps her off her feet. Now Bo is willing to fight for her, but Trev wants something a bit different. Can Bo accept the type of relationship his brother has and Bethany needs?
If you wanted to see how Aidan’s brother turned out and what his love will look like, this is the book for you.
SIREN IN WAITING is the fifth instalment in Lexi Blake’s contemporary, adult TEXAS SIRENS erotic, BDSM, romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women of the exclusive Dallas BDSM spot known as The Club. This is former professional football star / Dom Trev McNamara, accountant Bethany ‘Mouse’ Hobbes, Bo O’Malley’s story line. SIREN IN WAITING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. TEXAS SIRENS series is a spin-off from the author’s NIGHTS IN BLISS, COLORADO series.
NOTE: SIREN IN WAITING is the re-release of Sophie Oak’s aka Lexi Blake’s 2011 novel.
WARNING: SIREN IN WAITING contains scenes of M/F/M sexual situations including spanking, bondage, anal play and discipline.
Told from several third person perspectives including Trev, Bethany and Bo SIREN IN WAITING follows the life-long friendship of Bethany Hobbes and Bo O’Malley that is about to implode when Bethany is befriended and Dominated by the town pariah, disgraced former football star Trev McNamara. Upon his return to his hometown of Deer Run, Texas Trev McNamara struggles with what was and what will never be. With one year left on his sobriety program at ‘The Club’, Trev finds himself outside a bar, battling between head and heart when he comes across a young woman fighting a battle of her own. Bethany ‘Mouse’ Hobbes has loved her best friend Bo O’Malley all of her life but has watched from the sidelines as Bo flirts and seduces every female around. Meeting Trev McNamara gives Bethany a chance at her own happily ever after, a chance that may be destroyed when someone targets our heroine where she lives. What ensues is the building Dom/sub/love relationship between Trev, Bethan and Bo; and the potential fall-out as Bethany’s new project becomes ground zero.
The relationship between Bo and Bethany is a friends to lovers relationship that struggles with an imaginary line that Bo refuses to cross. It is only when Bo discovers that Bethany has moved on with someone new does Bo realize that losing Bethany would mean losing a part of his soul. Trev McNamara has screwed up so badly that his reputation precedes his return to town. A fallen hero; a man who burned out and destroyed his career for the world to see. A Dominant by nature, Trev would find his passion at ‘The Club’, mentored by psychiatrist and Dom Leo Meyer, and in this Trev was hoping to claim Bethany as his very own submissive. The $ex scenes are intense and erotic.
WE are introduced to psychiatrist and Dom Leo Meyer; Trev’s sister Shelley McNamara and her husband Bryce; as well as the reintroduction of Bo’s brother Aidan O’Malley, and his partners Lexi Moore and Lucas Cameron.
SIREN IN WAITING focuses on unrequited love; on addiction and recovery; on the criminal element of small town America. The premise is captivating and engaging; the romance is seductive and passionate; the characters are energetic, colorful and lost.
I absolutely loved this edition of Texas Sirens. Bethany loving Bo for so long and being there even when he was dating (sleeping with) others girls was an emotional ride. Bo had grew up hard and needed his friend Trev at a time when Trev wasn’t able to be there for himself. But fate has a plan and Lexi brought that plan to fruition and nailed it.
Whew! What a story! I really enjoyed this book and found it hard to put down. When Trev comes back to town, it’s not the way he had planned things. Fame was too much for him and he’s having to learn what his new normal is. Bethany was someone he went to school with, but they were never in the same circles. The chemistry between them is palpable and strikes a cord in them. They need each other. I loved how Trev stepped up and took care of Bethany. He could see what she needed and while he took care of her, it also fulfilled him. They were drawn to each other, but Bethany knew she still wanted Bo in her life. Their journey took on a twist that the three of them never saw coming, but it was right for them. In true Lexi Blake style, I was enraptured with this book and was on the edge of my seat, too. The twists and turns this book had had me holding my breath, waiting to see what was coming next. I highly enjoyed this read and if a M/F/M love story is up your alley, then I recommend giving this book a shot!
Great book! Trev is the hometown football hero who fell into alcohol and drugs due to the pressure of pro football. After 2 years of rehabbing at The Club he returns home to a not so warm welcome. Bo and Mouse, aka Bethany, have been best friends since forever. She loves Bo but he only sees her as a friend only. Trev comes to Mouse’s rescue on his first night in town and ends up with Mouse who he calls Beth. Now Bo wants her. And guess who Trev’s new boss is…Bo’s brother Aidan. He thinks Bo needs a Dom and ask Trev to take him on. Beth has just bought a house and someone wants her gone. There is lots of bar fights, laughs, hot steamy $ex. I always giggle through a Lexi book…I love them!
I’ve been a huge Lexi Blake fan for a number of years now and I’m an extremely huge fan of her Masters and Mercenaries series and one thing that always bothered me was that The Men With The Golden Cuffs was the only Lexi Blake menage story that I could find.
Well, didn’t I feel just a trifle silly this year when I learned that Lexi Blake had not one but two previously published series under the pen name Sophie Oak that she was re-releasing under Lexi Blake and better yet, the majority of the stories in the Texas Sirens and Nights in Bliss series feature menage relationships – yummy deliciousness!!!!
Immediately, I knew that I wanted to read these books so I bought the first four books in the Texas Sirens series and read them all within three days. Seriously – they are that good!
Full of emotional highs and lows with characters that’ll melt your heart and bdsm themes that’ll get you hot and bothered – I can’t wait to read more books in this fantastic series.
Siren In Waiting is the story of three beautiful characters, all finding their way to each other and love while facing their own difficulties, battles and demons.
A really good, small town, menage read that I couldn’t recommend highly enough
Siren in Waiting was another book of menage goodness from my one-click favorite, Lexi Blake. This time, Aiden’s brother Bo is getting his chance at love, and to his surprise, it’s with his BFF Bethany.
In addition to being a M/F/M romance, this book is also a good friends-to-lovers story. Bo and Bethany have been friends for a long time, and although she’s felt more for him than friendship the entire time, she was content to sit in the shadows, watching him fool around with many of the small town’s available females. But, it’s when mousy Bethany catches the eye of the disgraced football star Trevor that Bo finally starts to see her as something more.
Trevor has a lot to make up for. He is an addict who is trying to live a clean, good life. But, his poor choices keep coming back to bite him. Bethany is a slice of goodness, and he’s going to soak it up as long as she will allow it.
Siren in Waiting had a bit of a different feel to it from the others in this series. Maybe it’s because the two guys are never “together.” For awhile, it’s just Bethany and Trevor. But, with some encouragement (from some well-loved characters from Lexi’s Masters & Mercenaries series), They invite Bo to join them. He’s not thrilled with the idea, which was also different. Usually, Lexi’s triads start that way, and they start willingly.
But, the three of them together were pretty phenomenal. Throw in a threat to Bethany’s life and happiness, and it’s everything I love about Lexi’s books. They’re engaging and suspenseful and sexy.
When you think of rehab, most people do not think of receiving guidance from a Dom. That is exactly what Trev faced when his career took a nose dive. Alcohol and drugs cost Trav his professional career. Thanks to a little training in a BDSM club, Trav is back on the market. After meeting Beth, Trav instantly reacts to her submissive tendencies. Creating a desire unlike any he has ever known before.
For years, Bo has taken his friendship with Beth for granted. Never looking beyond the surface, Bo was literally oblivious to Beth’s attraction to him. Unrequited love is never what anyone desires. For Beth – the time has come to dip her toes into the prospects of a future with someone else. That shift finally gives Bo the push that he has needed for far too long.
Which man will win Beth’s heart? Let me clue you in on a little secret….Beth has no intention of choosing one man! She plans on enjoying both! The happenings around town are just about to heat up. Hold onto your hats, because this trio will certainly heat things up!
Can I ever get enough of the books that Lexi Blake has re-released? Deer Run is the place to be for romance that is unforgettable and full of steamy moments. Siren in Waiting was an unexpected treat. After all, I never expected a ‘mousy’ gal to be part of one juicy triad! It’s sinful and tantalizing….just the right combination for any lover of romance. There is also the element of suspense thrown into the plot to add a little mystery to those smoking hot ménage scenes! As usual, I soaked up every word that was penned to paper, and I simply can’t get enough of those Texas Sirens!!
Trevor; disgraced pro quarterback, addict, alcoholic: Bethany; so timud and shy she’s called Mouse, self sacrificing, core of steel: Bo; low self esteem, manwhore, all around screw up. As an unlikely trio as you’ll ever find yet they give each other what they need. Add in a couple of bad guys, some mystery and danger as well as some sexy and sensual BDSM play and you’ve got a thoroughly entertaining read.
There is just something special about the books Lexi Blake writes as Sophie Oak. Well, there is something special about all her books but I think the Texas Siren books and the Bliss books just touch my heart in a different and unique way. And it is not about the erotic part of the books. It is about the characters themselves and the way they fight for their HEA. And Siren in Waiting is not an exception whatsoever. I was invested into the characters and their story from the very first page. It simply broke my heart reading about Trev and Bo’s demons from their past and the painful shyness that surrounded Beth.
In many ways, I think this is one of my most favorite books in this series. There was just something about the struggles Trev needed to live through and the heartbreak and pain that haunted Bo’s life, especially his early years, that spoke to me. I haven’t lived through anything that hard but I suppose we all have difficult times in our pasts that define us as the people we are. But the beauty of this book is that the characters don’t settle for the hand that faith played them. They fight for a better life, for a life filled with love and happiness, for their HEA.
I don’t think there is much more that I can say about this book. It was filled with heartbreak, will for survival, hope and a lot of love. And the cherry on top is the sprinkle of danger and suspense that just kept me on the edge of my seat around the end of the story.
I hope I managed to convince you pick up a copy of this incredible book. All of Lexi’s books are amazing but if you need to pick just one, I would recommend this one. At least for now 🙂
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
It’s easy to have preconceived ideas about a character when her name implies her rather introverted personality, and when it comes to Bethany “Mouse” Hobbes, her nickname completely exemplifies her demeanor, and while for some alpha heroes may take issue with Bethany’s ‘mousey’ behavior, the two men who want to claim her are more than happy to have a natural submissive to play with and love.
I’m always intrigued with how the logistics work out as well as how the differing personalities blend in a ménage relationship, and with how at odds Trev McNamara & Bo O’Malley seem to be with one another as well as what they as well as Bethany want and need from each other, it’s clear these three have a lot to work through, individually, as friends, and then as a threesome because if their past issues aren’t resolved before they head into their new dynamic, it won’t last and something tells me these three need it to last.
Out of the three main characters, Bethany definitely shows the most growth and the more she comes out of her shell and takes back her life in a way that makes her feel alive and independent, the easier it is for her to give this new relationship a real chance despite her past heartache due to Bo’s obliviousness.
At times, both Bo and Trev were wild cards. My opinion of Bo was already judgmental due to his history with Bethany, so it took quite awhile for Bo to grow on me, and even when I was finished with their story, I still wasn’t completely sold on the idea that he could make things work between the three of them. There’s a lot of ego and issues these two men need to work through and Trev’s addictive personality is not something that will ever go away; he constantly struggles with that part of his personality and while he holds it at bay, it doesn’t mean it’s easy.
In keeping with Sophie Oak’s storytelling and plotting, there’s a bit of suspense involved in Bethany, Trev, and Bo’s book, and while it probably wasn’t necessary to include that type of conflict given the amount of concerns that needed to be dealt with, it still adds a bit of mystery and intrigue amidst the love affair that occurs throughout Siren in Waiting.
4 Poison Apples
If you are a fan of this series you will most definitely want to pick up this book. It has the same feel as the previous books in the series and yet there was something a little different about it. I think it was Beth that made this book for me. I loved watching her come into her own and realizing that she is so much more than what the town has made her believe she is.
Beth “Mouse” Hobbes has been the town ‘shy girl’ all her life, in her youth they put her in the shadows and she stayed there after finding safety in them. Thing is while Beth Hobbes might be a bit ‘mousey’ she is no ones door mat and when Trev comes into town and shows her that she truly shines.
I loved Trev, it was great having this character we have never met before come into town and mix things up. While he is not new to anyone in Deer Run he is new to us and he brings a freshness that we have been missing the last few books. I mean I don’t mind (really don’t) books that revolve around people we meet through out a series but sometimes its nice to have a new player come in. I loved his back story and his fight to overcome.
Bo O’Malley, well, he was a tough one for me. I didn’t really like him in the beginning to be honest. He was quite the jerk (I’d use a stronger word but then Amazon wouldn’t accept my review, soooo) and I hated that about him. I really had hoped after getting to know him in previous books that we would see a different side of him so it was really disappointing to see that he really was just a jerk all along. Now, that doesn’t mean that I don’t end up liking him in the end because I do, but I never fell for him the way that I wanted to. I wanted him to just be this really misunderstood guy, maybe more of a Lucas, but instead he really was just kind of a goofball who didn’t think much farther than his own nose. Redemption comes but at the price of me ever really making a connection with him.
I enjoyed the relationship between all three main characters, it’s a little weird with Bo being kind of just a regular guy in the mix…not a Sub nor a Dom, but they make it work. I love how they make each other stronger and complete the family that they have each been missing out on one the years. I really enjoyed the introduction and possibility for a few new characters, the look at a character, who we already know the story of, (If you have read Masters and Mercenaries) before he got his HEA (what a sad sad man, hahaha) and the glimpse into the lives of some of the characters we have been growing to love as this series has gone on. I am so anxious for the next book, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite erotic series. Lexi Blake never fails to give us all the hot and heart we need with a good deal of suspense thrown in!
~ HAPPY READING ~
5 Mouse Finds Her Men Stars!!!
With each book that’s being re-released in this series, I fall more and more in love… with the characters, the setting, the town….EVERYTHING!!!
Bethany is a young woman that has always lived a quiet life and not really vocalizing what she wants because she’s shy and unconfident, hence the nickname of Mouse. Just because she’s quiet doesn’t mean she doesn’t love and the man that she has loved from afar her entire life Bo O’Malley hasn’t ever acknowledged her feelings or his own feelings for this quiet beauty….until Trev McNamara comes home and makes a play for “his girl.”
I absolutely adored how Beth attracted both men and in turn her confidence really blossomed. It was so touching and emotional for this young woman to come into her own and to take on not one but both men as lovers was not something that was in her realm of thought. But when you fall in love with two men who are willing share…although one is more dominant than the other, what’s a girl to do?
Of course, our story isn’t that simple and there’s some definite suspense and twisty turns in this book that had me furiously flipping the pages so I could find out what happens next….and oh my stars, I NEVER saw it coming!!!
Ms. Blake has set our trio on a ride and it’s only going to get more interesting as things are moving and shaking for them and I’m hoping to see them again very soon!!!
Siren in Waiting is the 5th book in Sophie Oaks Texas Siren series and another great book that should be on your must read list. This book is about Trev, Bo, Beth and the struggles they deal with regarding acceptance, dependency, and love. It will give you all the feels and have you sucked in within the first few pages.
Trev has recently lost everything. After numerous stints in rehab he still can’t seem to get his life in order. He is offered a last chance and must stay clean for a few years. 18 months later he finds himself in his hometown wanting a woman he has no business wanting.
Beth has spent her life taking care of others and now that she has her own time, she has spent every dime of her money on a house that needs more love than she does. But a dinner with her best friend changes everything.
Bo has spent his life being Beth’s best friend for his whole life. But realizes to late that he has missed his chance. Or so he thinks..
Now with danger surrounding them and everyone trying to pull them apart, they must band together and form their own relationship but no expected the dynamics of it!
Trev McNamara may have been a pro quarterback, but now he’s both broke and a recovering addict. After losing everything, he’s given a second chance and taught how to take control of his life back through BDSM. If he can remain drug and alcohol free for one more year, he can collect on the rest of the money owed him from his pro-contract. With nowhere to go, he returns home to Deer Run to take a job as a foreman on the O’Malley ranch while he bides his time. While he may have left a football hero, he’s now an outcast in the town that once thought of him as their golden son.
Bo O’Malley has always felt second best living in the shadow of his brother. He doesn’t really commit to anything or anyone, especially when his father never loved him, his brother left town as soon as he could and his best friend turned him away when he needed him most. His only constant in life is Mouse Hobbes. But, while they are best friends, he isn’t ready to commit to thinking she may mean more to him or that they could have a future together.
Bethany “Mouse” Hobbes has always been as outsider. She’s quiet and shy and takes whatever life throws at her quietly, never really standing up for her needs or wants, even Bo O’Malley who she has been in love with for years. But, for the first time in her life, she’s ready to do something for her, even if that means moving on from Bo.
When Trev meets Mouse, he discovers the passionate woman she is. He can show her how worthy she is and to stand up for herself and she can be the anchor he needs to keep him sober. But, now that Mouse isn’t available, Bo realizes just how much he needs and loves her. Can Beth be the woman that brings these two friends back together or will Deer Run destroy their chance at happiness with their small minded beliefs?
Everything in Deer Run isn’t as it seems, either, and danger lurks around the corner for this potential trio. While they navigate what type of relationship they can have, they’ll also have to fight the bigoted townspeople as well as the danger stalking them.
Oh what a tangled web Lexi Blake has woven with Siren in Waiting! Alone, none of these characters is strong enough to succeed. Without someone to care for and protect, Trev will most definitely fall of the wagon. Without someone to show him how important he is and give him a reason to commit to something, Bo will continue floundering through life. And, without someone to make her see herself as worthy and to help her learn to stand up for herself, Beth will always be the mouse that people walk all over.
While they all need each other desperately, the past is not an easy thing to escape, and not only do Trev and Bo have past issues, each character comes with their own baggage that keeps them from moving successfully forward with their lives.
I absolutely loved how flawed each and every one of these characters was and that they all needed not only a second chance, but each other to get things right. It’s gorgeous and emotional and fabulous! There is also plenty of suspense to keep readers on their toes. 5 stars!
Siren in Waiting is another small town romance in Lexi Blake’s Texas Sirens series.
Who says small towns don’t have drama and crazy people? This one does! Enjoy this story as it all plays out.
Everyone deserves a second chance and to find a love that brings them peace and strength. That is what Trev, Bo and Beth finally have with each other even though it has taken them all a long time to find it. Is it a conventional relationship, no. Does it work for them, yes! Ménage is the name of the game and just like any relationship it has to work for all parties involved. These three were perfect for each other.
