I normally don’t like historical romances at all, but this one I loved! This book drew me in right from the first chapter. Loved how it flows into the whole Chicago syndicate series and club 7. This book has everything a reader wants in a book, gambling, sex, fighting and soooo much more. I totally fell in love with bad boy William Kade and sassy Ivy.
Sins had a slow start, but by the time I was half way through I couldn’t put it down. Set in the turn of the century Chicago, the title mislead my to think this was a story based on a sex club. I was surprised to discover the sex and gambling clubs were just the stage for a multi-layered love story with just the right amount of kink to make this story fun.
It’s been a while since I read a historical romance that kept me really engaged in the story until the last page and Sins managed to do exactly that. This was the first book I read by Soraya Naomi and I was pleasantly surprised by the writing style.
As an orphan, William was lucky to be adopted by Charles Lincoln (British industrialist and owner of an illegal fight club). He grows up in a wealthy environment and also becomes Charles’s partner and best underground fighter. But when their business starts to go down, they put in motion their plan to open a sex club.
William is a beast in the ring and a ladies man. He is a dark, dominant and possessive alpha male and when Ivy is thrown into the picture, things get really heated. They have explosive chemistry and their passion is all-consuming. I liked the conflict, the banter and the fact that Ivy is a feisty, independent woman that knows how to stand her ground.
“He could’ve sworn that she cursed quietly under her breath. This lady had a few unladylike habits, which seemed to increase his interest in her by the minute. .”
There were twists and turns that kept me glued to the pages, it was really interesting to see the story evolve. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, with all the secrets and lies and the violence surrounding the main characters. I enjoyed this book a lot and I highly recommend it!
