Wow, just wow! I have read many books by Nadia Lee but this book is definitely on another level. Meaning, the storyline of the book is only a small part of absolutely sexually fascinating and intriguing romance! Ivy Smith and Tony Blackwood are insatiable. The past sins of the Blackwood family continues to follow Tony when returns from boarding school and college. Ivy is recently introduced to Tony and slowly begin to see that there are some hidden “truths” in the family. When the sexual tension increase between Tony and Ivy, will they get through the “sins” of the past? An absolute must read
I tried. I really did. Almost 5 hrs in and I was ready to pull my hair out. I decided to listen because I wanted to know how Tony and Ivy met. I had already read Marrying My Billionaire Hookup. Tony, his brothers, Ivy, and their parents were pretty prominently featured in the book.
Approximately. 25, 26+ chapters in and all I could think is how doesn’t Tony know, how could he not know. At some point, it hit me that I just wanted to know Tony & Ivy’s story, but I wasn’t willing to sit through 2 more books, not to mention the other SIX hours of this book. I didn’t want it enough to sign up for a saga. The first book was 11 HOURS long!! I didn’t check the length of the other books.
Also, don’t get me started on how hateful his mother was to him, and how useless and enabling his father was in the situation. I knew I wouldn’t be able to stand that through three books.
It is not often that I don’t finish a book, but here it is. I’m just glad the book was in Audible Escape and I didn’t put down a chunk of money for it. Maybe it would have been better if I had read these books first. I dont think so, but anything is possible. Maybe I am just at a place where the all of the negativity in this book is too much for me considering the current environment in which we find ourselves. My recommendation would be to try it and form your own opinion. Maybe I will try the ebook. I can read faster than I can listen.
Great love story.
This one was a nice read, but I’m not overly impressed by it.There were parts where the book really dragged on for too long, and also the list of the secondary characters is way too long.
After graduating in record time and doing everything to earn his mother’s forgiveness,Tony finally comes home.He was practically banished from his home,on his mother’s request, for things that weren’t his fault.I felt really bad for Tony.Even tho he’s brilliant and amazing guy,he is unhappy and sad, trying to earn forgiveness that he knows he will never get.
When he sees his distant relative Ivy,at his parents house, for the first time he feels something.
Ivy’s parents died ten years ago,and ever since she’s been living with her aunt and uncle.Upon seeing Tony for the first time she feels immediate attraction towards him,but she knows very little about him.His name was rarely spoken in the past ten years and she has no idea why he was banished from his home or why does his mother, the women who give her everything, hates him so much. It’s obvious that Ivy has no idea what kind of person her aunt really is.
I liked the attraction between Ivy and Tony,it was really nicely written, but the romance part was a bit rushed. The book is split in two parts. In the first part we meet Ivy and Tony, see how they fell in love and how they were broken apart.
The second part is a bit more complicated.Without giving any spoilers I will say that I didn’t like the second part all that much.
It was a bit confusing and it dragged on too much.
This book is well written and has a good characters but it really wasn’t all that exciting until the last chapter,I found myself bored at times.
Feel free to give it a try but this is trilogy so know that you will need a lot of patience.
Sins is the first book in a 3-part series by Nadia Lee. Tony Blackwood was sent away following the mysterious death of his sister. It is implied throughout the book that he played some role in his sister’s death but it is never fully explained. He returns years later and finds himself drawn to Ivy Smith, a cousin (who he’s not related to by blood) that his parents are raising.
I enjoyed the characters of Tony and Ivy. They had a lot of chemistry and the forbidden nature of their relationship was intriguing. I enjoyed watching how their relationship played out. The suspense picked up toward the end of the book with Ivy’s life in danger. The book ends on a major cliffhanger.

We are first introduced to Anthony Blackwood in A Hollywood Deal as Ryder Pryce-Reed’s Former Friend. The first book serves to gives readers a better look at his backstory. After a disclaimer from the author about Anthony’s story I prepare myself for an intense experience. Let’s just say the disclaimer was needed. After a childhood hunting accident involving his younger sister Katherine, he pretty much became the family’s black sleep. The only bright spot in his less than warm return home is Tony’s adoptive cousin & his mother’s Katherine “replacement” Ivy Smith. I won’t go into all the details, but I will say Anthony suffers another tragic loss this time involving Ivy. Also, his mother Margot is a true piece of work and outdoes previous characters’ mothers in any of the previous books.
Fast Forward nine years & we are reintroduced to the version of Anthony in A Hollywood Deal. While still reeling his lost love, he meets Iris who is a ringer for Ivy. Of course, he starts to investigate to see it is just a “coincidence”. Of course, as they share happiness they begin to run into obstacles with a major one closing out Book 1. Although, the cliffhanger was expected it still didn’t decrease my emotional response in the least. The story will resume in Secrets the 2nd Book of the Trilogy. I love the appearances of previous characters especially the fan favorite Elizabeth’ s devoted “Assistant” Toylan. I can’t wait for all the twists and how the story continues in Secrets. Thankfully, readers don’t have to wait too long.
