Sinner is the first book in the Reed Security Series. It is preceded by the series For The Love Of A Good Woman and it is recommended that the series be read in order, as characters from the first appear in the second.Just when I think it can’t get any hotter, Giulia Lagomarsino does it again. It seems like each book is just packed with even more of a punch than the last. I’m truly amazed at her … punch than the last. I’m truly amazed at her ability to write such intense, emotional, relatable books with extremely strong, bold characters that are SO different than the last. I literally just read her newest book start to finish in one sitting, in 7 hours, with no regrets. I’ve always been a sucker for romance novels, but the level of human emotion and intimacy that Giulia is able to bring to life is just sucker-punchingly, edge-of-your-seat, feeling-all-the-feels, good. I cannot wait until her next book. Until then, I’ll be in a book coma from the Sintastic story I just finished. -Crystal Rice
“I could maybe get some information out of him. Maybe I could-”
“No, Freckles. You’re not a field agent,” Sebastian said sharply.
“But I’m a woman. I could talk with-”
“No.”
“Sinner, tell him I can handle it.”
Sebastian turned a glare on me.
“I could take her with me,” I shrugged.
“What part of my glare did you not understand?” Sebastian asked me.
“Hey, she’s good backup.”
“Then maybe I’ll let her be your backup while you’re on desk duty.”
“Shit, Cap. You don’t have to be so mean.”
Cara
I’ve been broken for six years. I only started leaving my house three years ago, but I waited too long and now I’m so screwed up that I can barely stand to be around other people without freaking out. When a handsome, strong man with gorgeous eyes comes to my rescue twice, my therapist suggests he become a therapy buddy of sorts to help me. His jovial personality sets me at ease and he really does start to help me heal, but my untrustworthy nature takes over and could ruin the best thing that has ever happened to me.
Sinner
Everyone calls me Sinner because of my reputation with the ladies. I was in Special Forces until a few years ago and now I work for Reed Security. I love my job, but it’s hard on relationships, which is why I don’t try. Until her. Everyone sees her as damaged, but I see her spirit, her fight. I can’t seem to get enough of her, but when my relationship with her threatens my job, I’m forced to choose which I want more. I just hope I chose right.

I loved this story. This book is a fast paced exciting action packed suspense filled romance story. It gripped me from the beginning until the end and I love the relationship between Cara and Mark (Sinner). As with all Giulia’s books they will make you laugh / cry and keep you totally enthralled page after page.
This book is very good. The author is a new favorite of mine and I can’t wait for the next one. You will like this story too.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved this story and wow super sexy, CAN NOT wait to start the next in line
I’ve been looking forward to seeing Cara get her HEA after all she’s been through and I enjoyed following her journey in trying to overcome her social anxiety issues with Mark “Sinner”. The storytelling was good, lots of action and super hot sex scenes. This book had things I enjoyed and some not so much, especially how a few of the relationships in this story played out here and one scene might be deemed as a big “ no” by some readers. Overall, it was a good start to this spinoff series and I’m looking forward to reading more.
“Thank God Giulia Lagomarsino has a ton of books because I plan to binging and no doubt will reread her stories often. I’ve never read a book with so many laugh out loud moments mixed with smoking hot sexy times.
Giulia’s creativity shines while telling Sinners story. It’s completely different from any protection, security series I’ve ever read. Humor mixed with action, toss in some sexy intimate moments and bam! She hits a grand slam!
I want to be best friends with the men and women. I love the imperfect alphas who are silly at times, fumbling even, but when it comes to their women, nothing will get in their way.
They can be over protective when showing their love and dedication to the women they love, but how they go about it will melt your heart and hurt your side from laughing so much.
Crack open this series and settle in for the joy of reading.
Open your mind and don’t overthink it, just have fun.
Reds RecommendedAuthor and series”
I started this series in the middle, and am finally catching up with the characters from the beginning. Mark “Sinner” Sinn (employee of Reed Security) and Cara (sister of Sean the police detective) are the first couple in this spin off series. This story is about the aftermath of Cara’s trauma and how she, and the other people in her life, deal with it. It has lighter moments, tense, action-packed scenes, and heart wrenching moments. How can you stop 10 days from defining your life? The struggles Mark and Cara go through as a new couple are far beyond anything most couples go through, but with their ingenuity and the help & support of their friends, they’re off to a great start. Great story.
Cara is trying to move forward with her life after experiencing something horrific. When she has a panic attack, Sinner steps in to help her. I just loved Sinner and Cara and watching their journey. A story filled with amazing characters, danger, and steam.
Ooooh my hot sweet sexy and off the charts hot loved Cara trying to deal with her phobias and when Mark aka Sinner shows wow the passion the sex the heat Is off the charts.
Can’t wait to read more.
Love this series!!!
The following ratings are out of 5:

Story/Plot:
World building:
Character development:
The Hero(s): Mark “Sinner” Sinn – former special forces, now works for Reed Security. He is a playboy who hasn’t been getting along with his boss Sebastian “Cap” Reed. Sinner is friends with Maggie, who is Cap’s woman and Cap is very possessive.
The heroine(s): Cara – six years ago she was kidnapped and held by a serial killer and now is suffering from severe social anxiety disorder. She is doing whatever it takes to get rid of her anxiety but right now nothing seems to be working.
The Love Story: Sinner and Cara meet at a restaurant where Cara is having an anxiety attack and when she passes out, Sinner is there to catch her.
I unconventionally started this series on Book 21, which is fine since most can be read as stand-alone books. Though I loved them so much I had always planned to start at the beginning. Sinner was one of the books I couldn’t wait to read since he is such a great character. The blurb in this book also says it would be best to read the For the love of a good woman series first since many of the characters are connected. I have read most of that series, but it was quite a while ago so I don’t remember much. However I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. That is one thing Giulia Lagomarsino is great at.
I liked both Sinner and Cara as characters and these books always have some sort of dangerous situation brought on by the nature of the work in the Security business. In this one, there was a woman, Vanessa Adams who was the daughter of a billionaire businessman who needed personal security. There is some sort of shady business deal with her father where the other party wants to get her and use her as leverage. Vanessa will be the heroine in a future book as she and Cazzo have some attraction between them.
Overall, this book was great. It wasn’t quite as funny as some of the later books, but it was certainly steamy. I love the supporting characters and the action in the book. The world building is great and the side story was interesting.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.
4.5 stars
Finally, I get to see where this series began and what a way to start with these two characters. Cara is a woman who went through an abduction a few years ago and she is still dealing with anxiety and other issues that stem from the nightmare. In order to combat her problems, the recommendation is to go out alone to eat at a restaurant. However, all does not go according to plan as she winds up having a panic attack. Sinner, aka Mark, is no stranger to ptsd and helps Cara deal with her situation. As she leaves the restaurant, he follows her and winds up getting pepper sprayed. After Cara gets Sinner to Reed Security where he can get medical attention, he does everything he can to keep her there. From this incident, Sinner and Cara forge an interesting relationship. This is one well written storyline that highlights a challenging topic with well developed characters and weaves a web of love and family loyalty. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.
Readers get ready for a series that involves security, bodyguards and oh so much hot suspense that it will blow you away from the first chapter. This is the first I have read by Giulia Lagomarsino and definitely won’t be the last. We have Cara, who by far is the strongest and beautiful heroine I have read so far. Reading what she went through is tough but seeing how much she wants to be just normal will break your heart. Mark aka Sinner is perfect for Cara in every way. It might start as friends with benefits but you can tell already Sinner is in it for the long haul. This is one series that is getting to me and cannot wait to see more of the Reed Security team.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
This was exciting. It has action and suspense and just the right amount of team to keep me on edge. Sinner and Cara are lovable and have depth and loved seeing their relationship develop.
Wow, this is great start to a series. This book was intense, but also had such loving moments. We have met some of these characters in Love of a good women. I couldn’t put this down once started.
I loved Cara and Sinner together, they started out as a means to help Cara with everything she dealt with. And we all know Sinner to be sinful. But they grew together, and you could tell they started having feelings for each other.
This book has some intense moments where things can go wrong or does go wrong.
I highly recommend this book.
This is the first in a new series and is Cara and Sinner’s story. Cara has endured a horrific experience which understandably has left her with anxiety issues and panic attacks. During one of these episodes Sinner comes to her rescue, and her therapist recommends him as a rescue buddy. I loved all the secondary characters. No spoilers: this is a definite must read. Sinner is a womanizer and does not have relationships, but he is drawn to Cara. This is a well written story which is filled with drama, action, passion, humour, and is an emotional roller coaster throughout. I was hooked and intrigued throughout and cannot wait to read more in this fascinating series which I recommend for all.
Intense and emotional!
This book keeps you on the edge of your seat. I didn’t want to stop reading to do anything else.
I like Mark. He is able to help Cara with her social anxiety and panic attacks. Her attacks are written realistically without being too graphic.
Cara is able to help Mark after he is badly hurt on the job. Cara is able to get him to smile even though he is having a hard time with how slow his healing is going.
I like that the last scene made me smile. That is a good way to end a book. I look forward to the rest of this series.

RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin’ With M. Brennan.
Cara Donnelly is not having a good day. She gives the reader some insight about a woman trying to fight through her anxiety. She shows it’s not easy but it can take quite a long time to recover. Mark “Sinner” Sinn has some really smooth moves but he’s met someone where he has to put in a little more effort.
Our author has created a woman who doesn’t give up on herself even after going through some setbacks. She’s strong in more ways than one. An interesting secondary character was Vanessa Adams. If you don’t know/remember who that is and you want to know more about her/revisit with her than you will need to check out book three in the series titled Cazzo.
With Mark, I wasn’t sure if I was going to have to warm up to him. He actually made it easy when I saw how much he did to make Cara feel comfortable and sometimes he has some interesting ways he makes that happen – can’t decide if this shows the author’s creativity or if it’s fantasy. He was a jokester when it came to some of the guys he works with – he’ll give you a few chuckle moments. He also knows when to increase the heat – good thing I have fans.
It was hard to believe that this was the book that introduced the author’s readers to the Reed Security series. Sometimes an introduction to a series can seem long but maybe it doesn’t feel that way since I’m a little late to the game – my introduction started with book four. This shows that you can go back. But I’m glad that I’m finally starting to catch up on the books I missed. I loved that the ending let us get impressions from Cara’s point of view – since she started us off, we should also end with her. And I can’t wait to catch up with book two.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
This book is awesome. The whole series is amazing!!
This is the first book in the Reed Security series. Mark “Sinner” Sinn is known for being a huge womanizer. Cara is a beautiful young woman that has been living in her own personal hell for the past several years. A chance meeting between the two an we get a whirlwind romance with some mistakes being made that require a little bit of redemption. Can Mark prove to Cara that life needs to be lived and no matter what happens in your past doesn’t necessarily have to define your future.
Not my cup of tea.
I love security firm series, usually, but this one unfortunately won’t be one I continue with. The story contained several of my hard “no” pieces, and I was left feeling unsatisfied with pretty much all the characters at the end. For a while there, I really, really liked Mark – and then he did a hard “no” & that connection was broken. 🙁
This also appears to be part of a connected group of series, which can be an awesome thing! It just didn’t work for me with this one, because I was left feeling more “lost” than intrigued w/ the other couples.
On the plus side – the story is told well & has a lot of intricacies. If you don’t have the same hard “no” things & have read the other series, you might like this one! : )
