The selfie generation grew up. And with them, the sin of greed exploded on an astronomical scale. Of course, where one went, the rest were sure to follow. Wrath, sloth, gluttony, pride, envy, lust… all climbed in severity until deadly sin consumed Cardinal City. Violence, murder, and mayhem were only the beginning. To save their city, top scientists created a band of brothers and sisters as … sisters as deadly as the sins they were destined to fight. But before they were waging a war on crime, they were children born in a lab with no one to look out for them… except a deadly assassin pretending to be a nun and a tortured man running from his past.
Biolum Industries think Sister Mary Margaret is an innocent nun caring for children in their lab, but she has a dark secret: one that could destroy the world, or save it.
Flint Fydler wants the simple things in life, to do his job and to pay off his shameful debt. But no matter how hard he tries to ignore the secret project behind a guarded door at Biolum Industries, and the beautiful and fearless nun who works there, he can’t avoid the inevitable fact he is being lied to.
When Flint’s mission to reveal the truth uncovers more than he bargains for, Mary bribes him to help with her rescue mission. As their quest draws them closer together, Mary has no choice but to reveal her own deadly secret, and Flint must face the undeniable truth: paying his debt may have nothing to do with money, and everything to do with his heart.

With the world’s sin creating a society of depravity, scientists have created a family of brothers and sisters who are able to sense the sinners & fight them with deadly intent. This is the origin story for the Deadly Seven & tells us how Flint & Mary met & what happened when the members of the Deadly Seven were still in the laboratory they were born in.
This novella gives us great insight to Mary & Flint’s backstory. I love both of them and enjoyed that we were able to get more insight into the two that raised the members of the Deadly Seven. This book isn’t necessary to read the main series, but it provides some good background for the books. You also might see a few breadcrumbs that pop up later on.
This is definitely a must read book & you also need to check out the first book in the series, Envy.
This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. You had me at PNR. This book is about good battling evil is good strong enough to win? This book is a short book just to give you a taste of what’s to come and I’m completely intrigued and fascinated can’t wait to start the next book.
Mary Margaret has been working at Biolum Industries for two years. She has been waiting to rescue the children being used as experiments to combat the rise of sin in the world. When the day arrives to free them she finds unexpected help from the sexy tech genius, Flynn Fydler.
While this is just a short taste of this world, I was instantly fascinated and want to know more. The concept of children being experimented on to identify each deadly sin was fascinating. I really can’t wait to see how they will use their abilities in the future books.
I really enjoyed Flynn and Mary. Flynn has been crushing on Mary since he first saw her years ago. He is an honorable man who was willing to sacrifice everything to save the children. Mary had a terrible childhood and then was trained to be an assassin. She believes she is just a sinner and will never be a good person. Flynn shows her that she really is a saint and that her past doesn’t make her a bad person. I adored these two and can’t wait to see how their future plays out with the kids.
Reader Warning:
– Heroine was abused as a child (referenced).
– Reference to infertility
– Experiments and genetic modification done on children.
No spoilers of any kind included.
Sinner was freakin amazing, the story dragged me in before I had even finished the first chapter and I could not climb out until I had gotten to the end of the book.
This book makes the second book that I’ve read by Lana Pecherczyk and I have to say I am hooked on her work which means she’ll be put into my favorite authors list.
So yes I do recommend this book because I loved it and I think you will too.
*An ARC was provided by the author, publisher or a promotional service and I have chosen to publish a fair and honest review*
Sinner is a prequel to the Deadly Seven series, but man! There was a lot of info packed into its pages! I enjoyed the fast pacing of the storyline and loved the characters and their little quirks. The violence is actually minimal, Flint curses like a sailor, Mary isn’t a sinner but a hidden saint, and those special kids will steal hearts! If you’re into comic books and/or action flicks, with a slice of romance thrown in for extra heat, then this book is a great mish-mash.
If you like Christine Feehan’s Ghostwalker series, then this series should be right up your alley.

WOW!!!! AWESOME START TO A NEW SERIES!! Unique storyline and I can’t wait for the rest.
This book had all the feels for me. The author had characters who were sexy, alpha, but so very human. They may have showed confidence at times and had faith in their abilities but they are human. You felt their insecurities, their doubts, their needs, and wants.
The author made me smile, want to cry, and even cheer on “good” guy. Yeah, the author totally rocked the opening of her new series. I am a glutton for wanting more. So much more.
This was a very interesting read. The plot line was unique. It took me a few chapters to realize what was going on, but once I did, I couldn’t put it down. I would definitely recommend!
Overall rating: 4.6
Truly a unique storyline, this author created a very intriguing start of a new series. I haven’t quite grasped the concept of the children’s possible destinies but I believe that is exactly where I should be with book one. The recently born envy is the next book yet I am hoping that despair is still in this tale and not lost. Truly curious to see how the male/female dynamic will play out towards influencing the children’s directions in life. This is a wrk of fiction but it is maddening to know there are females in our present day world that really have been warped with extreme hatred towards historical males views. That’s enough of that tangent, I am anxiously awaiting the next installment after this wonderful build up. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
