One of Entertainment Weekly’s Top Ten Romances of 2018! I’m not a good man, and I’ve never pretended to be. I don’t believe in goodness or God or any happy ending that isn’t paid for in advance. What do I believe in? Money. Sex. Macallan 18.They have words for men like me–playboy. Womanizer. Skirt chaser. My brother used to be a priest, and he only has one word for me.Sinner.Sinner is a standalone … and he only has one word for me.
Sinner.
Sinner is a standalone companion to Priest about Father Bell’s brother Sean. You do not have to read Priest or Midnight Mass to read Sinner more
Sinfully delicious!!!!
Loved, loved, loved it.
This book hooked me from the very beginning, and I could not put it down. Sean Bell is sex personified. He’s sweet and sexy and controlling and everything you could ask for in a BBF. The range of emotions he goes through, the gradual wearing down of who he is and what he believes as he takes his journey with Zenny, is nothing short of magical.
This book had me laughing. It had me crying. It had me laughing through my tears and wanting to rip my heart out at the same time. It had me speeding through the chapters and forcing myself to slow down so I could savor every word. It left me broken and it left me healed. It left my eyes swollen and my head pounding with the tears I shed.
I am in awe of this author. The way she spins her tales and makes you feel you are there on the pages of her story. The way she makes you question what you believe, building you up with love and hope all while tearing down the walls that you’ve constructed your world out of. Her words are magic that I will never forget.
Once again, Sierra Simone delivers a book that is not only tantalizing to your senses but challenging to your mind. This insanely prolific writer taunts you with the devilish sexuality of Sean Bell and the delicious filth he wants to impart on his best friend’s little sister – Zenny – after she presents him with an offer that is almost impossible for him to accept, or refuse.
If you truly read Sierra Simone for more than the delicious sex, this book is absolutely stunning in the way it forces you to look at everything from the simple concept of stop, look and listen to those closest to you (something we all admittedly forget to do), to respectful workplace relationships, to dehumanizing race relations and to the horrific beauty found in death.
Sierra Simone touches on all of these issues with educated passion, challenging provocative thought, and often a well placed surprise.
Dirty, delicious Sean. Your book shows us you are such an awesome man – maybe even held locked in chains as tight as St. Peter’s. Fortunately, Zenny has just the key to unlock them.
And the delicious sinning continues.
Loved Sean & Zenny’s story. It had everything I’ve come to expect from this series & this author.
Warning: The last few chapter will require a box of tissues and lots of chocolate!
Once again Sierra Simone has turned my world upside down with another phenomenal book. Sinner is book two in the Priest series (Priest 1 and Midnight Mass 1.5- which is Tyler and Poppy’s excellent five star book) Sean Bell is the oldest of the Bell brothers and he is a dirty, naughty, alpha male and I love him!!! With that said, he is so much more than that and I was ecstatic to see his character develop. Sinner has a great balance of sex (SO HOT and I was squirming 4% in), romance, angst and emotion. It’s probably one of the hottest and sexually charged books I’ve ever read. The premise of Sinner and the ironic story-line is so brilliant and it definitely caught me by surprise. Sierra Simone without a doubt secured my heart with this book!
I adored Zenny and fell in love with her immediately! She’s innocent, intelligent, saintly, giving, kind-hearted and sweet. She is also sassy and has a naughty side to her that only Sean Bell can bring out. Thank you Sierra Simone for writing an interracial romance with accuracy and respect. As an African American woman, I appreciate the fact that you wrote Zenny’s character so beautifully and with authenticity.
Every moment spent with these characters was an absolute pleasure. I sincerely hope Sierra Simone plans on writing more books about the other two Bell brothers. I thoroughly enjoyed Sinner and it is everything!!! This one of the best books I’ve read this year!!
Sierra Simone is Queen of naughty romances!! I recently found her novels and I have not read one that I did not like. Sinner is hot and dirty and just my type of read!! Loved it and I cannot wait to see what she gives us next!
I might be the odd one out on this one, but I was not a fan of Sinner. Don’t get me wrong, Sierra Simone’s writing was on point and the characters were good. It was the storyline that messed with me.
Sean Bell is a player! However, he is completely attracted to Zenobia Iverson (Zenny) who just happens to be his best friend’s little sister. He cannot get her out of his mind.
Fast forward a few years later, he finds out that Zenny is a nun! Yes, you read that right… a NUN! Let the fun begin…
I am sure, if you have read any of Sierra Simone’s books you can somewhat predict what happens. There is HOT sex and a storyline that will keep you turning the pages. But with this one, I was just not loving the storyline. Strange, I know!
Just because this one was not the book for me, does not mean that it will not be the book for you. Don’t ever take my word on a book that doesn’t connect with me. It could have just been me?!?! It could have been the book?!?! Whatever it was, just know that you may actually love it.

Sinner was enthralling! Once again Sierra pulled me in and kept me there until i got to the end. I kept saying one more chapter until I was bleary eyed. Her development of the characters religious differences & what got them to that point kept me turning the page. Well, the hot, steamy love scenes didn’t hurt either. Can’t wait to see what Sierra does with the Bell brothers in the future.
Reverend Sierra has taken to her pulpit again, and her homily is about the joys of forbidden fruit. The fifteen years younger, best friend’s baby sister kind of forbidden fruit. And the older brother’s playboy best friend. A man who has excommunicated himself from God’s love, his heart battered and buried in grief and anger, is tempted by a young woman trying to pledge her sheltered, unexplored life and unblemished heart to God, only to be told she need to experience her sacrifice before she makes it.
And Sean’s just the man to show Zenny what she’ll be missing. It’s supposed to be a month of erotic exploration before Zenny takes her vows and enters convent life. Yeah. Best friend’s little sister AND a nun. But nothing is ever simple when it comes to Reverend Sierra and her life lessons. What was supposed to be a filthy little age gap romance is, in truth, a lyrical, carnal meditation on love and faith and forgiveness and death and belief and vocations. It’s about finding God in the heat of your lover’s touch, the scent of their skin, the sound of their cries as you come. It’s about worshipping God with the giving your heart and your body to another.
It’s another story that will send your heart soaring and your mind spinning, echoing with you for days on end.
Thanks be to Simone.
The story line was original and unpredictable. It was a great third book in the series by Sierra Simone who appears to have some Catholic background knowledge. Well written with good character definition
If I had to choose one word to describe Sinner by Sierra Simone, it would be perfection. It truly is a wonderful mix of taboo and sexy deliciousness all wrapped together. I am completely in awe of her ability to mix religion and sex together in a way that I don’t think anyone else could. I just absolutely loved getting the chance to fall in love with Zenny & Sean, and hope others will give it a chance, as it really is a remarkable and special story.
What an amazing read from Sierra Simone! This was my first read from her and let me tell you it will NOT be my last!!!!
She has taken some tough subjects and treated them with such love, respect, and beauty that it literally took my breath away.
Her characters and their journey are simply amazing. The character growth between Sean and Zenny was so wonderful. I felt like I could actually watch them changing throughout the story.
The writing was just phenomenal. I enjoyed how while there was some darkness and some hard subjects, those areas are lined beautifully with the golden threads of humor.
I honestly can’t say enough about this book and how much I recommend it! Simply stunning!
” let’s not forget that I’m selfish and dangerous and far older than you. I LIKE sin. I LIKE corruption. You don’t want someone like me to touch you. ”
Sean oh Sean…
What can I say? You have pushed me to my limits. you have made me cried, you have made me hot hot hot and you have made me questioned a lot of things…
This cover is just perfection -even if we do not see the face of our sinner. Sierra Simone could have not picked a better cover for our antihero.
I am not going to say too much about the story but you need to have an open mind when you are going to start reading this incredible story. It tackles a lot of subjects that are taboo but for me, personally, the fact that the story was from Sean’s point of view made it 10 times better.
“Zenny is a puzzle of feelings, quivering like a virgin sacrifice but looking at me like I’m her next meal.”
Zenny is a young girl that falls hard for Sean. However , her religious values and upbringing are not compatible with Sexy, Dirty Sean. The attraction is there, the need is there, the passion is there and the taboo is there… so what is going to happen?
” I can’t tell what I’m supposed to do anymore… I can’t tell what I want and what God wants and whether the two are the same thing”
Sinner literally took my breath away.
” Honest guy thing”
“Looking at her gives me this feeling… The way I used to feel about God.”
This book is an absolute delight for the mind, body and soul of the erotic romance reader. At least it was for this reader. Friends, while creating a tale of heart breaking romance and love and a hero with whom you simply fall in first, lust then, love, Ms. Simone opens your mind and heart to new considerations about the nature of God, the false construct that sex is inherently sinful, the value of belief and love in our lives.
Sean Bell, our hero, is a handsome, wealthy, smooth operator in the boardroom and the bedroom. He believes in “Money. Sex. Macallan 18.” Although born a cradle Catholic and raised as such, a tragedy involving the abuse of his sister by the Church caused his family to pull away from the Church as did Sean. He was angry with God and renounced His existence.
And then he meets Zenobia Iverson, (Zenny) at a function. He is stunned by her beauty but even more, he begins to think of things he has long left in his past…
“Looking at her gives me this feeling like my hand is on a veil shrouding some powerful mystery, the way I used to feel looking at the stained glass windows of my church. The way I used to feel about God.”
Sean soon discovers that Zenny is off limits to him for a number of reasons which include her youth, the fact that she is his best friend’s little sister to whom he promised he would always keep her safe and of course the most pressing reason is that she is a postulant sister who in a month’s time will give herself entirely to God, as well as, take a vow of chastity. Sean discovers all of this because he just sold the building that her order of nuns was using to help the less fortunate to a developer and they were to be evicted creating a public relations nightmare.
During his visit to their shelter and despite Sean showing Zenny his manly desire hiding behind his suit jacket and pants, he restrains himself admirably and is willing to walk away from this girl-woman that has him contemplating “holy” thoughts as well as filthy day-dreams. It was just this encounter when I as a reader almost swooned in a dead faint for how sexy and cocksure Sean presented himself to Zenny. When she begged him to kiss her, he was afraid that he would infect her with his corruption. He gave in to Zenny’s request for one kiss and felt the “spiritual euphoria of the saints” during this kiss.
Zenny took the gambit a step further and asked Sean for a month of carnal experience before she took her first set of vows. Sean as a character is written to intoxicate. He is careful, considerate, thoughtful and kind. I never read about a character who delighted in oral artistry as much as he. He waited until Zenny almost demanded of him to make love to her. In an interesting twist it is surprising who truly was the virgin in this encounter.
“God, the fucking irony of a sinner loving a nun. It’s agony. I’m dying. And as I’m both alight and aflame with loving her, these splashes of thought keep coming out of nowhere, like raindrops on a sunny day.”
Sean’s love for Zenny was proceeded by the revelation that he was not going to corrupt her purity with his sexual nature. His long discussion with Tyler his brother the former priest and main character in Sierra Simone’s “Priest” brought him to the personal epiphany that…
“I don’t pretend the cross away as I drink in her body. It’s here, just as we are here, and it’s a flickering, inconstant revelation to think that God could be here too, in the same way. That sex isn’t apart from God, it’s not separate, that somehow the God that’s prayed to and sung to and served by charity and love can also be a god that’s inside of sex and exists just as much inside fucking as He does inside a prayer or a nap or a meal or anything else a human might do in a human body.”
The story is told primarily in Sean’s POV. I think this added to my infatuation. There was so much tug and pull on the heart strings. Oh and the explicit, beautifully described erotica is heart, body and soul bending for the reader. Sean is one sexy Alpha animal! Zenobia is a sultry, beautiful innocent. There was one incident where as is true in real life she is treated differently enough because she is black to cause Sean to become angry. She is the epitome of class in the face of this ugly smallness. The book is utterly engrossing with pitch perfect emotion and excellent pace.
After reading this astonishing book, I was left with numerous thoughts and impressions. Realizing it can become tedious to read on and on about someone’s views, I chose the loudest thought ringing in my ears. God met Sean where he lived and touched his unbelief with a pure holy love in a wonderfully delightful satisfying sexy woman who gave him the best sex of his life.
I hate Sierra Simone, why did I even read this book? I thought I was getting some sexy time, I did not expect to have my heart ripped out of my chest. I kid you not, I was literally (and I mean that in the correct usage of the word) sat sobbing in the bath, my husband thought somebody had died! Sheesh, I thought AK did a number on me. All joking aside, the joke being that I hate Sierra, I don’t really hate her, she’s a freaking writing genius! She makes you think you’re getting one thing and so beautifully weaves her words that you get immersed in the story and get something else… something more. I knew this book was going to be good, what I didn’t know was that it was going to be amazing. That it would carve a spot in my heart, that it was going to touch me in ways that I least expected. If you read Priest and enjoyed it, you’ll love Sinner, if you read Priest and thought it wasn’t for you, I urge you to give Sinner a try, I think you’ll find this a little more to your taste.
One of the things about this book that I loved, because it’s from Sean’s POV and it’s called Sinner, I dunno, I just assumed he was going to be the instigator, that he’s the bad man that corrupted the sweet little nun, and that’s what Sierra does, she makes you have a preconceived idea about the book so you go in thinking one thing and then BAM! She blindsides you with something completely different. Can we take a second to appreciate the gloriousness of this book cover?
This book is filled with characters that you can’t help but love… and hate. I like the little glimpses of Aiden Bell and my theory about him was correct, yay, I was worried I’d not get confirmation about that, but I guess Sierra decided she was causing enough issues for my emotional state lol. I hated Valdman and Northcutt… a lot, like, I wanted to punch them in the balls sort of hate.
So, about Sean Bell. I liked him, like, a lot, from the get-go. He always seemed like a sweetheart to me. The way he cared for his family and the way he was with Zenny. I loved his terms of endearment and pet names for Zenny. In my mind, I wanted to find ‘Zenny-bug’ annoying and condescending, but in reality, I thought it was cute. It became something that was uniquely them. Zenny Iverson is awesome. I loved her as a character and as a woman. She knew her own mind and went after what she wanted. She gave poor Sean a run for his money. She was shy, yet bold, beautiful and intelligent. She brought Sean to his knees without ever really trying.
Now, about that sexy time. This is Sierra Simone we’re talking about, she’s not going to let us down in that department, and she doesn’t. The scenes are scorching. Each made perfect sense to the story and built the connection between Sean and Zenny, it was beautifully done. PSA don’t read in public – it could cause for some very awkward moments.
This book was a lot of things and touched on a few different issues, each was treated with such beauty and grace that reading this book caused a very emotional reaction in me. If you’ve ever lost a family member or been subjected to racism or any kind of bullying, this book may cause an emotional reaction in you too. It’s done so beautifully, but heartbreakingly too.
I’m just going to say this once, Sierra, please, for all that is holy, tell me Aiden is getting a book? I need it, he needs it. Just give it to us!!!!!! Pretty please with Sean and Tyler Bell on top!!!!
Amazing Book!!..
Sean is a playboy, a man who likes to enjoy sex, life, women and his favorite drink Macallan 18.
he didn’t want any serious relationship, he didn’t have time for any of that .. he only had time for work, it was all what he wanted… but life was not that easy for Sean.. he had some family responsibilities that are making his life difficult and hard.. he feels like he has to be in control all the time.. making sure everybody in his family is safe and well taking care of.. until one night she saw her and didn’t recognize her. the beautiful girl with the pouty lips.. the beautiful girl who used to tease him .. now, she is not a girl anymore and he wont stop until she gets her…
Zenny an innocent girl working hard to become a “nun”.. she is getting ready to give herself to God and start a new life.. a life where she think she will feel free and be what she always wanted.. without the “shadow” of anyone on her family.. she just wants to be in service to God.. but with such a narrow time .. she decided to live one last time.. to experience what she hasn’t, before she finally starts her Journey.. but she wasn’t prepare to see him.. to find him there all handsome and flirty… she wasn’t expecting Him at all…
Sinner, the story of Sean, brother of Tyler aka Father Bell..
Sean an alpha male, always in charge of his life.. he likes control, not just in sex. in everything.. he likes making sure all of his family are safe and have everything they need.. he doesn’t let anybody give him a hard time.. including her .. the most beautiful woman he has ever seen..
The story between Zenny and Sean is a beautiful one.. you get to see their love growing .. their understanding and need.. both sides have so much work to do .. with their past, future, needs, Family and also beliefs..
I love their relationship, the friendship.. it was nice to see them grow with the story and see their love also become more solid and more secure.. what i love about Sean, is he always treated Zenny with so much respect and admiration.. you can feel his need for her in his words and acts.. Zenny a beautiful heroine.. innocent and strong.. love how we can see the transition of Sean, how we can see his vulnerability when it comes to the ones he loves.. but at the same time we can see his determination and stubbornness.. when it comes to save those who love..
so many other great characters Seans Family, Elijah and Aiden .. i cant wait for their story!!
Great book, Great characters and story, i cant stop saying Sierras writing is amazing!!!
Where do I even start with this book? I finished this early this morning and I’ve spent the day processing all the overwhelming feels and yet I’m still not sure how I write this review and accurately convey the beauty and originality of this story, but here goes!
Sean Bell is a strong, intensely sexy, loyal, ALPHA. Like major alpha. On the surface he seems like he’d be a materialistic, money obsessed, control freak, womaniser. And to an extent this is true, but then you get to see his loyalty and dedication to his family, that the reason he craves control is because he’s always been the protector of his family, particularly after his sister’s suicide, and his mother’s diagnosis. He’s selfless, he has this belief that he’s bad and everyone else’s feelings must come before his and this broke my heart.
I loved seeing his relationship with his mum, the fact that he loves romance novels and they have this unofficial book club just the two of them was heart wrenching, swoon inducing, levels of sweet. And the relationship he has with his brothers was amazing, the way he reaches out to Tyler when he needs a moral compass, the way he’s so big brotherly with Aiden and constantly supports and cares for him, but that when he needed Aiden he was able to go to him and get that support because it should always be a two sided support network. And I’m really hoping Aiden gets a book next, yes I predicted what was happening with him and with who, but the development and foreshadowing for that was pure genius and immersed you into his background story too.
Zenny is such a pure, hopeful person and that really shined throughout the novel, even when I was frustrated and internally screaming at her to realise her own feelings and Sean’s and desperately hoping for that HEA, there was never any doubt about what a truly good person she is. She’s both selfless and feisty, vulnerable but with an iron core of unshakeable strength and dedication, her personality such a wonderful oxymoron, as if literarily conveying how complex humans are and that every part of our personality and emotions need to be accepted by us in order for us to be in harmony with ourselves and to love who we are.
Whilst quite a bit younger than Sean, Zenny is more emotionally mature in some ways because of her ability to do this, whereas at the beginning of the book the self loathing he feels was really heart breaking, and seeing how she guides him into achieving this, and gaining a peace he’s not had since Lizzy’s death, whereas he brings her a joy and acceptance she’s never really had. In other words, they make each other better, stronger, healthier people and seeing that development was wonderful.
I’m totally babbling on I know, but I’m blown away about how this can be a very graphic, erotic, arguably slightly taboo romance that also explores so much about humanity and faith and individuality, it was beautiful to read and I’m already dying to dive into another Sierra Simone book. I read this without reading Priest first, and whilst some parts took some patience to get the answers for, you most definitely don’t need to read Priest first!
Are you ready to sin? Sierra Simone does it again with a story of lust ,sex and God.
Sean and Zenny’s story is one of heartbreak ,fierce desire and raw emotions. The emotions just flow from the pages,a truly stunning sexy read.
Sinner is beyond amazing and so is Sierra Simone. Sean Bell is the sinner and he is a very dirty man. Zenny is the woman he sins with. The Catholic religion plays a big part in Sean and Zenny’s decisions on many levels. The story puts you through so many emotions.
Review copy was received for an honest opinion.
