One of Entertainment Weekly’s Top Ten Romances of 2018! I’m not a good man, and I’ve never pretended to be. I don’t believe in goodness or God or any happy ending that isn’t paid for in advance. What do I believe in? Money. Sex. Macallan 18.They have words for men like me–playboy. Womanizer. Skirt chaser. My brother used to be a priest, and he only has one word for me.Sinner.Sinner is a standalone … and he only has one word for me.
Sinner.
Sinner is a standalone companion to Priest about Father Bell’s brother Sean. You do not have to read Priest or Midnight Mass to read Sinner more
Uh, this is hot. I know there’s a storyline but seriously…this is hot. I just, yeah, no, I don’t know what else to say. Ummm. Heh. Hi hot, how are ya?!
Super hot and steamy. Totally different romance
I was rooting for these two from the first page. Learning to love and feel and doing the right thing, but in the end staying true to yourself.
I have never included ‘original’ in a review of a romance novel before. I love the formulas, but when a very different book comes along, it is amazing. I LOVED THIS BOOK! I would never have thought that the religious back drop would have been so riveting. Since love takes a leap of faith and a strong commitment, it makes sense to have a story with this complimentary layer. Whether one has faith or attends a church, temple or mosque or even prays – of does none of those, Sinner has relevance. Just know that some of the sex scenes are pretty graphic and you might not like the ‘sinner’ at the start of the first chapter, but you will soon find him remarkable and so very worthy of love. Lastly, there is a character with cancer and thus, scenes with treatment and the emotional pain that comes with that experience. It could be comforting, but it could be triggering. I read this book in one day, which is not something I ever do. I made myself take a break to grade papers, but couldn’t wait to get back to the wonderful, flawed, fascinating people and their progress in moral and spiritual dilemmas. So good.
A salacious naughty read is expected. Sean’s is not a good man, he believes in money and sex but I disagree he’s a better man than he thinks he is. The lusty attraction between Zenny and Sean is forbidden many obstacles in their way which I won’t divulge, these obstacles must be read and experience for yourself.
Woah,
Just when I thought this series couldn’t get any better.. Sierra Simone goes and blows my mind… YET AGAIN.. I didn’t think this author could get any better, she was already beyond amazing and now she has just gone and topped that.
In book one and two of this series, we met Tyler Bell former priest, Now… This book is his brothers story and oh my god.. it’s just as hot, kinky, intense and all consuming as the last two books. If anything, it actually becomes even more intense.
This book focuses on the life of Sean Bell and Zenobia Iverson aka Zenny… and their kinky, dirty and addicting relationship. Zenny is Sean’s best friends little sister and she was only a small child when Sean was a teen boy. It’s exactly how Sean remembers her, that was up until his boss asked him to work with the chruch where Zenny was learning to become a nun, when the two meet again, Sean had no idea how much she had grown up, how beautiful she had become and had no idea that fire was about to ignite when coming face to face after all those years. He never saw it coming.
Zenny had always done right by her family, always followed thier choices for her, but as she grew up, she saw she needed to do things that made her happy, and she thought becoming a nun was her calling, but after bumping into her bothers best friend after many years.. her restraint was put to the test. The sister/nun who was teaching her, advised her to go out into the world a little more, put herself in a situation where she could be tempted to break her vow to be non-sexually active for god. So she did just that and came up with a plan, she confronted Sean and asked for one straight month of sex, lust, passion and all her forbidden desires….
This book…. I can’t even… gahhhh!! Sierra Simone, YOU ARE THE QUEEN! I bow down to you! She’s gone and gut punched me hard with this one and made me fall in love all at the same time. The forbiddeness behind all this… makes it so much hotter!! am I wrong for loving this book for that? For wanting to devour it all up because it was so damn wrong, so damn dirty and so damn hot.. that it was just so DAMN ADDICTING? Probably. As hot and forbidden as this was, it help a lot of emotional aspects and scenes throughout the book that had me curled up crying..
I could ramble on all day about this book and still not be able to put into words just how amazing it is and this series is. It has a bit of everything, and it has things that we secretly desire and lust over, things we wouldn’t admit to most people. Well, I’m not most people. I want this. THIS WOULD BE FORBIDDEN HEAVEN!
Seriously, read it.. or better yet listen to the audiobook.. It’ll have you hot and flustered and addicted within the first chapter.. and Jacob Morgan’s voice as Sean Bell? Ahhh.. My ovaries exploded
If I could rate this a million forbidden stars, I WOULD!
I enjoyed the characters and the pace of this book.
This book was interesting because of the way it kept the reader’s attention, and the subject matter it touched upon was thought provoking. I also thought it was humorous at times, as well as relatable.
Another great read by Sierra Simone. While I enjoyed Tyler’s story in the first two books, I loved Sean and Zenny. Younger, inexperienced postulate with an older jaded man.
WOW it was HAWT and emotional. And also made you think a bit about what you believe
I wish she would write one about Aiden and Elijah next.
Sierra Simone is the erotic theologian I never knew I always needed. She outdid herself with this story and in crafting Sean Bell’s character. He’s brash and funny and confident. Charming as hell, a total player, hot and dirty. And yet he takes such good care of the ones he loves. He’s exactly the level of complicated guy I go for. Zenny may want to become a nun but she’s no slouch in comparison to Sean. Her compassion and steadfast faith, her determination and intelligence all serve as the perfect foil for Sean. He’s attracted to her immediately but it’s the level of awe she inspires in him that had me unable to read fast enough.
Even though I trust Sierra to give me the happily ever after, I really didn’t know how she was going to pull it off. The premise is delicious but it’s the execution that catapulted this to my all-time favorite list. It’s as steamy and filthy as you’d expect it to be but Sierra layered in so many other factors that grounded the story into something so much more. Not only is Sean exploring faith as a lapsed Catholic, the Bell men face losing their matriarch who is dying of cancer. Sean fully rejects her decline, believing he can somehow be or do enough to save her. It’s a profound meditation on death and grief that rang so true to life. I really appreciated the way palliative care and hospice were factored into Mrs. Bell’s dying process and especially how the Living Will was addressed. My heart went out to Sean, Tyler, and the rest of the family as they figured out how to say goodbye and then what life would look like without her.
Lastly, we must discuss the way Sierra skillfully depicts faith and sexuality. I’m not Catholic but my extended family is and I’m sure they would disagree with the way the Church is presented here. On the other hand, I loved the way Zenny’s prioress talked about God and the advice she gave to her. I told a friend that if I’d grown up with the theology expressed in Sinner, I’d probably still go to church. The way it ended made me want to believe again. I still don’t but it healed something in me at the same time. Sierra’s books can do no wrong in my eyes.
CW: death of a loved one by cancer, grief, racism (which is challenged), reference to past sexual abuse by a priest, reference to past suicide
Sierra Simone is once again a cut above most other authors in the genre.
Very good orginal story
This book is part of Sierra Simone’s Priest series. When I want a steamy, hot read, I pick up a Sierra Simone book.
Loved Zenny’s innocence and naivete. Sweet and trusting.
Holy hotness. This was quite the book about Zenobia, a postulant who asks her brother’s best friend before she enters the convent. I didn’t always like some of the turn of events, but I have to say that the book drew me in and I was mesmerized by the characters, the drama the angst and the romance.
If I wanted a Christian contemporary, I would have bought one. This was advertised as an erotic romance, but I had to quit reading after page 33 due to all of the religious (Catholic) references. Not what I was expecting at all.
I like , very much, this author’s style of writing. For me, the story line of this 3-book series is original. The plot grabs you at the very beginning and as the reader you need to get to the end
This book was ok. It dragged a little in the middle and I skimmed some of it.
The snake in the Garden of Eden has nothing on this couple
Wow! Another great read. Sean Bell, sexy playboy millionaire, reunites with a long lost family friend (unknowingly at first). A very sexy first encounter. An even sexier proposal that starts Sean and Zenny’s time together.
Not as good as Priest, I think in part because it felt less intensely forbidden. Also, I’m not a huge fan of virgin stories.
