Vincent Hudson is a vampire hunter and his life is about to be ruined. When a hunting trip ends in tragedy, he is forced to do the unthinkable—seek refuge in Sanctuary Hope, where each family must nominate a member to the city council. It is seemingly a minor price to pay in exchange for medical aid and refuge. But it is a dangerous trap, and unaware of the gut-wrenching reality, Vincent … Vincent nominates himself to save his people.
Now a life of war awaits him. . . and captivity to a vampire master known as Maddox Caine.
This trilogy is for mature audiences only (18+) and contains scenes of graphic violence and extremely high heat that will have you flustered and swiftly turning the pages. These books are dark, raw, gritty, and not for the faint-hearted. Please read with caution.

Holy amazing insanity I was not expecting that. Going in I wasn’t expecting this story to be like that at all color my intrigued. I have a feeling book two will be even more twisted I can’t wait.
Noooooo!!!
This is a first in series that takes place post-apocalyptic world
No spoilers
Vincent is a dusk Hunter, an elite hunter trained to kill vampires.
This was an engaging read filled with suspense, horror, angst, and yes, a touch of hope
I enjoyed the slow build to the story, I felt like it allowed me to connect with Vincent on a more emotive level.
The secondary main – Maddox, as well as the other supporting characters, were also well defined and very vivid
The world building is uniquely creative – It is a post-apocalypse universe that contains current and advanced technology, as well as areas that offer nothing but heat and sand
The plotline flows well, it is a bit complicated (multiple characters and plotlines are interwoven) but I do prefer that over the easy read -lots of twists along the way that kept me on my toes
This does contain darker subject matters -so if that is not your goblet of blood -you might want to skip this one
Looking forward to book two
Wasn’t expecting that, but it was a gripping story that, as usual for her books, pulls you in and drags you around until you can’t get enough. My favorite statement: “It has little bits in it, Mommy, and I don’t like little bits. Emory says they grow trees in you. He says he eated an apple once and a tree popped outta his… outta his butt.”. Love it lol. Vincent is strong, but Maddox, though stronger, hides a softer side he doesn’t want anyone to see, in my opinion. Sad but oh my. Deserves to be read! Katze has drawn me in again.
Gritty, dark, violent this is not your normal lovely paranormal vampire story thus has a serious bite to it and a brutality some people can’t stomach. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and was gripped from start to finish can’t not wait fornthe follow up. It’s strongly written with good charcter descriptive and background build up. I recommend this book.
I really loved this book!! I’d never read anything by this author before and now I’m dying to read more of her work! It was exciting and dark…..kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish!! And OMG……that ending left me with my jaw on the floor, I can hardly wait to find out what happens next
Dark as in heart pounding dark, Sinister Hunger give me the chills, heart break and conflicted.
Warning: bit spoiler alert ahead.
A dust hunter leader, a vampire hunter that have to submit his life as slave to his enemy, Vincent choose this path to keep his remain family survive.
An old vampire, first born, governor of the Sanctuary Hope, Maddox have his own sinister agenda keeping his enemy as his.
Sinister Hunger is not my first book from the author so i kinda know what to expect. But still, Katze Snow knows how to rendered me speachless.
Took me solid 24 hours to write this review cause i got conflict feelings toward this book.
First of all…there are no sparkly vamps here. Imagine dark and hope for the darker then you got Sinister Hunger.
There are one particular scene that just tough for me to swallow. Rape scene. Male rape scene.
Is not because of the explicit details, cause its not. But more because of the feelings. How the author describe Vincent feelings in that part just…heartbreaking would be too simple word for it but i couldn’t find any word at the moment.
This book is not easy to read. So, if you aren’t strong enough, please don’t read it.
And there’s the part that just bugging me. I know why Vincent couldn’t fight. I understand. But for the love of all the hot guy in the world! I need him to show more balls! He is victim, but please stop victimize your self! He is or was the fearless leader of vampire slayer. I need to see that Vincent. And Maddox. There are nothing to love from this vamp. So far, he just talk. I need to see what he is more.
*4.5 Stars*
As many dark readers know, there’s dark and then there’s question one’s sanity for loving this book level of darkness. Katze Snow has that ability to truly delve into darkness unapologetically and leave me begging for more.
Character development is one aspect I really watch for when I read. I need to see complexity and Katze Snow made sure there were no one-dimensional characters, even her most vile ones still had that extra attention to detail. Since this is dystopian genre, world building is especially vital. Katze Snow weaved her brand of magic through words and painted vivid imagery, even (or possibly especially) for scenes I felt like curling into a ball over.
The storyline itself is solid. I love the fact it is an original premise and that these are definitely not the warm and fuzzy vampires seen elsewhere. My only issue is the pacing is a bit inconsistent. It did take a while to draw me in because of that. That lead to my half star deduction but it does not detract from being such a strong read. I know it left me needing book 2 immediately!
Pay attention to the trigger warnings though and if you have a hard limit, this book probably isn’t for you.
4.5 Stars for dark, cruel and perfect depravity. Highly recommend to those who can handle it!
