I fell in love with this sweet, tender, sexy love story right from the start. Asher is a single, overwhelmed Dad without a large support system. Sean is a new neighbor who lives with his two best friends. This book totally has all the feels you could want. Moving from neighbors, to friends to so much more these two are a delight.
I love the patience and kindness Sean shows to Asher. Watching Asher open up to the possibilities of a future together is awesome. They grow together into becoming the family they each want.
The ending was perfection! Now bring on Eric and Brady!
I really enjoyed this book. Single is about Ash who is a new Dad to baby Mia and Sean who is an ER doctor who lives ne t door with friends Eric and Leo. Cant wait to see more of this series.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Asher “Ash”Hayes and Sean. Ash was in a loving committed relationship when he and his partner decided to have a surrogate have Mia for them. When it became a reality Ash learned that he was the only one committed in this relationship. His partner not only didn’t want to have a child he also wasn’t faithful to Ash. So Ash has decided to go it alone it will be him and Mia against the world. That is until the hunky doctor come to rescue his drunk friend from his place. Sean takes one look at Ash and wants to see more of him. If only he could get the single dad to give him a chance. He knows he is trying all he can but he just needs a chance. Will they they a HEA they didn’t know they could have or will it all go up in smoke when it becomes to much?
This is an amazing book. It really shows gender doesn’t matter when it comes to parenting. This book does have its ups and downs that I really want to tell you about. However I don’t want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. These characters will grab you and not let go even when you read those two words “The End”. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I Love this new series!
Ash is a single dad of a baby girl Mia. He is rudely introduced to his new neighbors when one of them Eric pounds on the wrong door one night when he Is drunk. Asher is properly introduced to his new neighbors a few days later and finds out his neighbors are a Doctor, Firefighter and a Cop. The Doctor Sean apologizes for Eric’s behavior the night they met and he and Asher slowly start to develop a relationship.
Asher is worried about being a single father since he decided to continue with the surrogacy after his ex changed his mind about kids. It takes him a while to warm up to the idea of a relationship with Sean.
I don’t want to go into anymore detail as I have a tendency to write too much and provide spoilers.
This was a very well written story and the main characters Sean and Asher meshed very well together.
I can’t wait for the next installment about Eric.
This advanced reader’s copy was provided by the author for my honest review.
Great characters (I’m a sucker for a single dad) and an engaging storyline made for a very enjoyable series starter. Ash and Sean my have started off on the wrong foot (never wake the baby!) but they ended in a much better place. I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.
*I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*
Single is the first book in the Single Dads series by RJ Scott. It is cute, funny and sweet. Ash is a single dad struggling through that new dad stage where self doubt, anxiety and exhaustion rule supreme. Luckily he find support in family and friends… and an unexpected love in next door neighbor Sean. Sean is an ER doc who cant help but be drawn to Ash and his baby girl Mia. The story has humor, sweet moments, sexiness and just a taste of drama. The characters are fun and likeable. I definitely will be looking forward to reading the next books in the series.
This was such a great story and I fell in love with the characters from the very beginning of the story. Ash is a single dad who thinks he only has room in his heart for his baby girl until he meets his next door neighbor Sean. This book is a sweet slow burn romance and I loved every page. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.
This is a feel good book in the best possible way. It’s got 2 wonderful main characters, a cute baby, great secondary characters. It’s got lots of family dynamics. To be totally fair, there’s nothing not to love! It pushes all my happy buttons. I love the HEA. My only complaint? We know who the next couple are but have to wait till August for it to land.
After being left my his partner in the middle of a pregnancy with a surrogate, Ash is the epitome of the hot single dad when Baby Mia is born. But now he is raising her all alone and wondering if he is doing it right. It takes a village becomes the motto when his sexy neighbors make their presence known. The firefighter, the cop and the ER doc all fall in love with Mia, but Sean and Ash also see sparks. But can Ash trust Sean not to walk away? If he makes time for a relationship will he be neglecting Mia? With beautifully written characters and as storyline that made me swoon, this was a great read. I cannot wait for more in this series.
Loved, loved, loved this story!
All the worry, fear and angst Ash was experiencing as a new parent to the gorgeous Mia was spot on! I remember those terrifying days. Questioning yourself and sleepless days and weeks.
Sean is the perfect match for Ash. His caring nature . His being able to understand Ash’s reluctance at first. I loved how their relationship developed. Side steps and all. Everything about the family dynamic, Sean and his friends and their jobs and how they all deal with what they see in their jobs, the teasing, the caring and the support…..all beautifully written. I had my suspicions about Brady’s life and I was so happy to see who he becomes connected with in the next book.
Great story and I highly recommend it. Looking forward to the next two books.
I was given an Advanced Readers Copy for my honest review.
Once again I’ve found myself finishing a book in one sitting. This book has a lot of issues that Ash is dealing with. I loved his (over the top) state of worry he has over his daughter. He was (a bit) neurotic but being adorable at it.
Sean has great personality that helps Ash with lowering his walls and convinces him to take a chance on their attraction.
I really liked both MC’s and the interaction between them. The side characters were great addition to the story. I can’t wait to see what happens next because these men seem to be a great group – bring on more HEA like this one.

This is a slow and very sweet story of a single Dad who finds love when he wasn’t expecting it. I was captivated from page 1 and I wanted to read it quickly to see how it ended and at the same time read it slowly to savour it so it wouldn’t end.
RJ Scott is very good at bringing the characters to life. You have a Doctor, Firefighter and a Cop living next door to Ash and his baby Mia. What comes next is a beautiful story of trust, growth and love.
If you are a fan of RJ Scott then this book will not disappoint. If you are new to her then this book is an excellent introduction to her writing style. I highly recommend this book. 5 stars.
I was lucky to receive an advanced readers copy for an honest review.
