From New York Times Bestselling Author Katy Regnery comes a sexy new series set in Alaska! A single Dad. A personal ad. What could possibly go wrong? When Seattle journalist, Amanda McKendrick, pitches a new story about the increase of bear attacks in Sitka, her newspaper sends her north for two weeks. While there, she answers the personal ad of single dad, Luke Kingston, looking for a little … looking for a little no-strings-attached fun to pass the time.
But the sweet, widowered father of three–who just happens to be a smokin’ hot state trooper–turns out to be a lot more than Amanda bargained for. As the days go by, she wonders if it’ll be possible to return to Seattle without leaving her heart behind.

This was a great read by Katy, all about finding love, long distance relationships, the realities of an ‘already there’ family…… hot, sexy, warm, emotional with a touch of drama, this one has it all!
Luke’s wife died two years ago, since then his life has revolved around his 3 children and work, but he misses being part of a relationship. Living in Sitka, a small town in Alaska, he loves the outdoors, the wildlife, the low crime rate, the peace and quiet, but chances at a relationship are few and far between. His sister decides to place an ad for a girlfriend for him, without him knowing.
Amanda is a journalist in Seattle, working with her work partner Leigh, who is due to give birth any day. She’s supposed to have come up with a project but hasn’t, instead has been daydreaming of Luke since seeing the ad in the paper, and remembers seeing something about bear attacks in Sitka, and ends up doing an article about it, going to spend 2 weeks in Sitka researching the bears, and hopefully bumping into Luke.
They end up meeting up and getting together for a no string relationship with no emotional attachments, but of course this does not work out, they end up falling for each other rather hard and fast, her meeting his family and his kids. A long distance relationship ensues, but neither wants to move to where the other is based. Their journey is not an easy one, problems arise, miscommunications, arguments with the kids, etc. Problems that need to be solved in an adult way, which Amanda is fantastic at.
A good read, full of hot sexy fun and games, great family moments, wit and banter coupled with some heart wrenching emotions at times. A very enjoyable story, I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.
Considering the amazing lineup of excellent books that Regnery has penned, Single In Sitka is one of my favorite series books of Katy’s to date. This book contains it all; sizzling heat between a sexy, single dad and a work-driven journalist. Heart pounding, emotional moments ranging from tears to anxiety to deep swooning. Along with fabulous secondary characters that enrich the story. Single in Sitka is a book you don’t want to miss in 2019!
Amanda finds an ad in the Odds Are Good online dating magazine describing Luke; a single guy in Alaska looking for love. She’s never been to Alaska, but she is picturing a hunky man who can fulfill her nightly fantasies better than her cheating ex ever could. When she’s pressed to fulfill a deadline for where she works, her writing partner throws out the idea of saving the bears in Alaska thus giving her the opportunity to find her hunky soulmate. Unable to turn down a writing assignment…Amanda suddenly finds herself in Alaska with the ability to look up Luke; Mr. Single and hopefully hunky, dreamy Luke. When in Alaska and all that.
Luckily Luke is actually who he says he is, BUT he didn’t place the ad, his sister did. Nothing like a bit of awkward to start things off. You see, the reason Luke is single, his wife passed away two years ago and his sister feels it’s time to get back on the proverbial horse. She’s worried about him. While she takes his kids for the weekend, he meets Amanda and they do hit it off, but decide on a no-strings, just fun agreement. Perfect. She’s only in town for two weeks as it is. Things are great until they both get attached and two weeks aren’t nearly enough.
What do you do when the person you’re falling for lives 800 miles away? How do people make these long distance relationships work? Should they just chalk it up as a fling and move on?
There are so many variables and moving parts when it comes to falling in love as a single father. Luke as an AH HA moment when he realized that when he fell in love with his wife it was just the two of them and he could devote all of his attention to just her. Now, even if he wanted to spend every waking hour with Amanda he couldn’t. He had responsibilities, not that he would trade them for the world, he loved his kids, but this time around it was just different which meant he had to do things differently. I love these kind of intricate details that seem so minute, but add so much flavor
Single in Sitka is such a great story and even though it is a complete standalone I can’t wait to return to Alaska and see what Katy has in store for us next.

I liked this story about a woman and a man looking for a rebound person. They end up finding so much more.
Amanda and Luke’s story (wow, Gilmore Girls vibe just by writing that name) is sweet and has a bit of a obstacle for them to overcome.
This author writes emotional stories that manages to drag me in and keep me inside the world of the characters.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Lots of good dialogues
Chemistry and connection between Amanda and Luke is present from the beginning and that results in some steamy moments.
I always love a single parent story so this was just my cup of tea.
I recommend it if you like something emotional, sweet and hot that’s easy to read.
5 stars
I’ve never been to Alaska, but I imagine it to be peaceful and full of wildlife: both forest and oceanic. This story was hot and sexy, but had a sweet family element to it. I love single dad romances. This romance was supposed to be hot and casual, but it was meant to be, until it came to 2 people trying to make it long distance. Trying to make a relationship work is tough when you keep hitting obstacle after obstacle, and makes you wonder: is love enough?
4.5 Stars
Single in Sitka is an emotional, yet fun story of finding love after loss.
A story that embraces a long distance relationship with plenty of heat, heart and humor.
Luke and Amanda, are endearing side characters and their story kept me enthralled from beginning to end.
I’m so glad that Single in Sitka is the first title of the Odds-Are-Good series, and I will be eagerly awaiting the next release and can’t wait to see more of Alaskan heroes.
Have you ever picked up a book and got so engrossed in the story that you skipped meals and stayed up late until you finished reading it because you didn’t want to put it down? Then the next day all you want to do is call every friend you have and tell them to read the book? Well Single in Stika is that book! Amanda McEndrick is a single newspaper columnist that has recently come off a bad breakup. In scrolling the Internet she comes across an online dating website called Odds Are Good and immediately becomes interested in a post about a single father in Sitka, Alaska. Her heart may be drawn to the story but her brain knows that she has a life and career in Seattle. When her writing partner and friend comes up with a new article idea about bears in Alaska being at risk the whole thing snowballs with her winding up being sent on a two week trip to Sitka to research the bear situation and her partner planning a fundraiser with the newspaper’s sponsorship for the bears! Well since she is up there why not contact this single father? Luke Kingston is the single father of three. He is a police training officer at the academy and has no idea that his sister posted his profile on the Odds Are Good website! He has been a widower for two years and yes he is lonely but his children have been his complete focus. Luke has a run in with a stranger to Sitka in the rain. After that moment he feels that it is finally time to at least attempt to go on a date and agrees with his sister to set things up. Boy is he in for a surprise! I loved this story so much because Amanda was very realistic as today’s single woman. She has a life and isn’t looking for a man to save her but someone to share that life. These two have a lot of hurdles, children, distance, emotional baggage but when you find the right person you work together to create a life. So as you can see, I am a reader that loves a happy ending and Single in Sitka will give you that and more!
It all starts with a personal ad…
Amanda McEndrick is newly single after a long term relationship went south. She has been distracted at work and needs a quick idea for an article. And she just happened to be scrolling through hot men of Alaska personal ads when a subject popped into her head. So now she is heading to Sitka, Alaska to do research and if she gets to meet the man from the ad then it is just a bonus.
Luke Kingston is a widowed father of three and busy with his job. He is overwhelmed and has grieved his wife, and his sister is pushing him to try to start dating again. He is a small-town man and is dependable, protective, and a genuinely nice guy.
Meeting Amanda brings out more of his spontaneity, passion, and brings him back to life. But they are just supposed to be a quick no-strings rebound fling while she is on assignment. No matter if one of them catches feelings or wants more, there are several blockades in their way. And one of them seems insurmountable.
This is a realistic, fun, sexy, and sweet single dad long-distance love story with a lot of heart. I loved the added dynamics of his children and the facets of their relationships with them. The characters are likable. Amanda and Luke had great chemistry and really got under each other’s skin. But sometimes life is just complicated. I enjoyed the fact that they act like mature adults and there is not a lot of unnecessary miscommunication angst. But of course there has to be some conflict and drama. My heart hurt for them because circumstances seemed to be against them, and I just hoped there was some way to make it work.
I am looking forward to more in this series centered around ads in the Odds Are Good magazine.

Would I read more from the author? Yes
Would I recommend this book? Yes
I fell in love with this book right from chapter one. It was fun and cute but it also really introduced who Amanda is, where she’s at and where she wants to be going.
It starts with a personal ad from a single dad in Alaska looking for a special someone. Amanda’s imagination goes wild and when she ends up working in Alaska she finds her imagination hardly does Luke justice.
Luke is actually NOT looking for love. He is taking one day at a time trying to be the best dad to his three young children since the sudden death of his wife. But Luke’s sister thinks it’s time he moves on, hence the singles ad.
The story is sweet and funny. It is light on angst but delivers with all the emotions and feels. It’s a book I’ll recommend to all my friends and will definitely be one that I’ll reread over and over!

I have only read one other Katy Regnery book (I know, I know, you don’t need to tell me), however when the opportunity came up to read Single In Sitka, I jumped at the chance.
What a lovely, warm and funny story about finding love again, long distance relationships and all they entail.
Luke and Amanda’s journey is not always an easy one, however there is not silly misunderstanding, miscommunications or stupid fights getting in their way. They act like adults and sort things out like adults – such a refreshing thing when so many stories these days have drama for drama’s sake.
There are plenty of sexy, steamy moments, however there are plenty of times with raw, gutwrenching emotion that will tug at your heartstrings.
Ms Regnery had me right in Sitka and in Seattle with her writing, such beautiful imagery that I could almost reach out and tough the Puget Sound – sigh…. I want to go back to Seattle so bad.
Single In Sitka is an utterly enjoyable story, and I am looking forward to more of the Odds Are Good series.
She’s out of her element. He’s not even trying to play the game. What do you get when a city slicker locks horns with romance in the wild outdoors? A heartbreaker with breathtaking consequences. Count on Regnery to dream up a tale that brings the best parts of romance. Single in Sitka will make you laugh, cry and hope. Amanda and Luke are an adventure that every heart needs to experience.
