I want his hard rock.He wants my sweet sugar.I’m trapped in a candy store, and I can’t get out.Not…literally. Just job-wise. My parents own the place, and they want me working here until I’m permanently frozen behind the counter. They didn’t see Wilder Felix coming. He’s the sexiest rock star ever to exist. And for reasons I can’t explain, he’s interested in me.It’s just a rebound—I know it. I’m … interested in me.
It’s just a rebound—I know it. I’m too plain chocolate for him. Way too innocent. Not nearly enough experience with nuts.
Zero experience, in fact.
But that doesn’t seem to matter, as long as Wilder’s in town.
And soon we’ll both be on opposite sides of the country.
If I can let that hard rock go…

The rock star can only write song with her around because he feels empty when she isn’t around.. this is amazing love story..
Wilder lost his muse when he lost his wife. While taking a break he stumbles upon Shira working in her family’s Sweet Shop. He begins to feel things he hasn’t felt in a long time including his music. But it’s not destined to be easy, and when an innocent joke goes awry, everything begins to fall apart.
This is a charming tale filled with emotions, laughter, drama and love. It’s an entertaining, fast-paced read that will draw you in from the beginning and keep you enthralled until the very end. You will find it very hard to put down. I highly recommend this delightful story!
Adam and Julia good sports story with a whole lot of drama. Adam was pretty uptight jerk for most of the story not unwarranted but misdirected. Julia was way too forgiving about his behavior but tough in how she handled it in the end.
Wilder is heartbroken & having trouble finding the music again after his wife’s death. Shira is back in Lakewood after school before her new job in the city, running her parent’s sweet shop. And then , fate intervenes & they end up being just what the other needs. A few issues along the way, but in the end, exactly what is needed. I loved this one. It was sweet, easy read! It’s an insta lust to love but the feels! Lots of feels ! I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This was a little ‘slow burn’ in terms of Shira and Wilder acting on their attraction to each other, but in the best way possible. At first the book left me a little confused over what exactly had happened to Courtney, and over Shira’s closeness (or not) to her parents. THEN I remembered the prequel and when I read this it threw a whole new light on those areas. SO PLEASE READ THE PREQUEL FIRST.
What I’ve enjoyed with this series of books is that whilst they may touch on some strong subject matter, they do so only lightly, thus keeping a more sweet feel to the book. The chemistry between Shira and Wilder was scorching hot and I loved that she was also slightly star struck at the beginning of the book. Once they give in to temptation the steam level is definitely high, but there is still with plenty of story to go with it.
I thought both main characters were well written and believable. Wilder took a little time to get to ‘like’ but he was still recovering from the death of his wife and wasn’t in a good place mentally, so this was understandable. Shira is quirky and as sweet as the shop she works in, but has little self-belief. This all stems from the fact that her parents have constantly reinforced the message theat she has to worry about how others see her/ what they think of her. We get chapters from both POV’s and as a result this helped me to connect with, like and understand both Shira and Wilder.
Whilst they didn’t appear much in the prequel what was very telling was that, traumatised as she was, Shira didn’t tell her mum what had just happened. Their vindictive behaviour after ‘caramel gate’ painted a picture of two nasty parents that really didn’t care about her. Why she still bothered with them I’ll never know but I guess she, as we all would, just wanted her parents love and approval.
I liked where Shira and Wilder physically were in the epilogue – it made so much sense given the problems they had experienced. It also felt so much more believable than an ‘and everything was perfect’ ending. The book has a good plot, the pace kept me interested, the quality of writing is excellent and leads to an easy to read and very enjoyable story.
Amelia what a sweet beautiful story, This Shira and Wilder story plus they had an instant connection towards each other through what happen in there past’s, what happens when you mix an alpha rocker and Sweet candy maker together it gives you the explosive chemistry. I will recommend this book and author to everybody. A Must Read ONE-CLICK NOW!!! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy.
