Sinful Promise is the Third book in the ‘Six Months of Sin’ Series by Kitty Kendall. Now that’s how you wrap up a series- what a fantastic finish this turned out to be!!!! Having loved the previous two books, I had really high expectations, which gave me a little anxiety as to what would happen and how the story would progress from the previous book. But I needn’t have worried as Kitty Kendall delivered everything I could have hoped for and more- even if she did give me a few heart palpitations and threw in some uncertainty along the way.
As with the previous two books, Sinful Promise is a superb romantic comedy. While still being a cheeky, fun, sexy and playful read- this story has more dramatic developments and added intrigue, as well as being the most emotive of the three books. Yes, I had to break out the tissues. And even though Kitty Kendall made me cry- I loved every moment, even when she had me doubting the outcome I had been hoping for ever since the start of book one.
Daisy has been on quite a journey- not just physically visiting the many picturesque, historic, and interesting places across Europe- but she has also been on a journey of self discovery and sexual awakening. The daisy we meet in book one is not the same confident, comfortable in her own skin, happy and contented woman we see at the end of book three. Kitty Kendall’s character development really gave Daisy and her amazing man (not telling you who she ends up with- you’ll have to read the story to find out) real depth and allowed them to grow over the course of the three books. I would love to have them in my circle of friends and hang out with them, especially enjoying one of his home cooked meals…. I also adored his wonderful family and Zali as well. Who wouldn’t want friends and family like that.
So, if you’re looking for a fun romantic read for over the weekend- and you’d love something with a really sexy, cheeky, and engaging storyline, then you really should do yourself a favour and grab this series to read. All three instalments are available now, so no waiting between books. WOOT!
Happy Reading!!
Thank you, Kitty Kendall!
For the last part of big busted Daisy’s journey to find love, this author has fully embraced the romcom genre…and I loved every minute of it. Poor Daisy is just caught with her emotions in the beginning. Roman is clearly “The One” but she’s leaving Europe soon, and a huge part of her doesn’t think she’s worthy. So what do these two do? Fight the attraction with all their energy of course! (Insert eye roll)
We know that Daisy is fighting some pretty heavy baggage, and I’m not talking about how much her breasts must weigh. She still has to address her mother ‘s declining health, and where her life is going to go after her tour job. The highlights of the book continue to be the descriptions of famous landmarks and events that pepper the story as the tour moves forward. Like this one of the Basilica of San Clemente in Rome:
“The church’s interior was absolutely stunning. My eyes flitted over gilded and frescoed ceilings that were works of art worthy of any gallery— intricate marble designs were inlaid in the floor and the gold mosaicked apse commanded attention.”
Or this one of Berlin:
“Berlin had seen its share of misery over the decades, but it’d bounced back. Street art was everywhere, as were bars, clubs, and restaurants that were thriving. Boutique brew houses were on almost every corner. Berliners were an eclectic mix of young people stamping their claim to individuality, and middle-aged couples who made bold choices with their appearances. It was fun to be out, and everywhere I looked there was something interesting to see.”
So Daisy tried to pick up her mood on one of the stops with Roman, and it leads to a devastating decision. But here’s where it gets really interesting, and you will start to cheer for Daisy once again. Kendall once again allows Daisy incredible insight while not excusing any behavior. She visits her Mom and secrets flow like wine. This was all done with dignity and class on BOTH sides, while allowing Daisy to get the kick in the behind she needed. (Btw, I had no idea what a daisy chain was until now. I thought the references in other books just meant hippie behavior. I was wrong)
I’m going to feed lightly here, as I don’t want to give up spoilers. But I will say that Daisy goes after what she wants, still second guessing but not giving up. It’s all so satisfying. Roman may be the perfect man, but he made mistakes too…making him just as human as the rest of us.
The epilogue!! Omg, it was perfect. I got a big surprise when I read it and finished the book in a few hours. Grazie for a relatable, intelligent romcom with stunning views at every stop of the tour.
