This steamy enemies to lovers story is full of white-hot romance: drunken Vegas weddings, heated words that turn into seductive whispers, and a love that blooms in the most unexpected place…To love, honor, and disobey.I didn’t mean to marry Luca Leone one drunken night. He may be the hottest guy I know, but he’s still a total jerk. His sly smile, his massive height, and his muscular body just … and his muscular body just don’t make up for how cruel he can be.
Once our drunken haze wears off, he has a proposition for me.
Stay married for two months, just until his ex’s wedding.
And he offers something I really need: ten thousand dollars to save my family home.
The only issue is that I’m forced to spend time with him, at his house and at his bar, often late into the night.
Soon our feisty arguments turn into the hottest hookups of my life.
I can’t resist him. Once I get past his prickly exterior, Luca is just plain smoking hot.
We are both hung up on our mutual pasts, not ready for the flame growing between us.
But we are about to come face to face with the fire we’ve ignited…

WOW the sparks that fly
The sparks that fly between these 2 can easily start a 5 alarm fire.
Both are so hard headed and closed off to feelings because of past experiences that you never believe that they will ever get together.
They push and pull each other to where the only place to go is up in flames.
Both Cate and Luca work out their issues only to have a huge blow out argument that seems to be the end of their relationship.
Thank goodness they each have good friends to talk to them and show them the wrong of their ways.
Given another chance they finally tell each other they love each other (even though they have been married for a few months).
This is another great read from Vivian Wood.
Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
I loved Cate and Luca. These two are not so different but Luca always picked one her, was mean, his sister’s best friend was an annoyance or was she really? Cate had always had a love/hate relationship with Luca, she never quite understood why he did what he did and when he takes Luna and her friends to Vegas, maybe their true feelings will come out. Both have baggage, Luca with his ex and Cate losing her family, you can never get to close, but you know the saying “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” until it doesn’t. You wake up and realize you married your enemy, but is he really? The chemistry is explosive and they can’t resist each other, but never speak the truth about how they feel. Their story is emotional, steamy, they are stubborn, and need to reach for what they want. I loved this book no spoilers you need to read for yourself. I also love that Owen and the gang are all intertwined in this series!!
Luca and Cate’s interactions have been tense to hostile since the first meeting when she was a teenaged girl. After a drunken marriage, more feelings come into play and he literally buys time with her.
I was a little torn in my reviewing. There some timing with them where I’m not sure if it bounced around, I misread, or it was in error—when they talk about birth control. Things like that bug me. Overall it was a good story. I am hoping we get a story with Luna next.
Luca and Cate are definitely not what I expected, but I am so glad to have taken this journey with them!
Cate lost both parents in an car accident and besides her best friend Luna and her grandma, she doesn’t really have anyone to count on. She lives a modest life and works really hard for the things she wants.
Luca has always had this undeniable distaste for his sisters friend Cate, but while on a trip to Vegas with their group of friends they wind up getting married while completely wasted.
Luca is selfish, cocky, shallow, and has an awful ex fiancee who invites him to her upcoming wedding even though they didn’t break up too long ago. He asks Cate to help him out and he will give her an annulment and a cash settlement and she agrees.
Little do these two know, but over the next several weeks they will wind up going through quite the rollercoaster together and wind up closer because of it. I really loved the banter between these two characters. Vivian Wood has done a wonderful job with this book and I highly recommend it!
This may be one of my new favorite enemies to lovers read! Luca nad Cate’s story was amazing! I loved how perfect for each other they were – even if they couldn’t see it! Sweet, funny, and oh-so steamy! LOVED!!
Loved It
I loved Luca and Cate’s banter. One minute they are arguing and the next they are all over each other. Their chemistry is hot. Can they overcome their baggage and make this hot romance a chance? A great read. I read it in one sitting.
A true enemy to lovers story. There is a fine line between hate and love and Cate and Luca’s story shows that. Love the banter between the two of them and how hot they are together.
Another fun, sexy, fast read from Vivian. Married To My Enemy was an sweet enemies to lovers, emphasis on enemies, steamy romance.
After a drunken crazy night in Vegas, Cate woke up married…to her enemy! She had known Luca for years, he was her best friends older brother. They were constantly at each other throats, how would a marriage work?
Luca was ready to get their marriage annulled until he realized he could use it to his advantage. He offered Cate a deal she couldn’t refuse, all they had to do was stay married for 2 months. What could go wrong?
Watching Luca and Cate figure out their relationship was fun. They were both stubborn and fought what their hearts wanted. I am glad they eventually listened!
Do you love an enemies to lovers trope?
Maybe even a best friends older brother?
Married To My Enemy by Vivian Wood has both of those and so much more.
Luca Leone and Cate De Rose grew up in two different worlds but that’s not the reason they hate each other. It’s much more unexpected than that. Cate is Luca’s little sister’s best friend but after a weekend in Vegas she’s so much more.
Lucas has been hurt in the past by an ex. Cate has had love ripped away from her. Together can they heal and learn to love and trust again?
I love enemies to lovers romance, Cate and Luca are enemies at their best for reasons that you wouldn’t expect. I loved Luca’s hard shell with his soft centre that he finally let Cate see and experience for herself. Cate was quiet with a hidden fiestyness that Luca brought out in her. I loved their storyline. The banter they have, the chemistry that develops between them, the fiery arguments that turn into intense, steamy passion. They’re both as stubborn as each other and give as good as they get.
All together another great read from Vivian Wood.
Another fantastic read from Vivian Wood. Cate is best friends with Luca’s sister, Luna, and the two are constantly at each other like cats n dogs lol. During a Vegas birthday trip for Luna, Cate and Luca end up drunk as heck and married. The chemistry between them is crazy, but the hate eventually changes and their romance blossoms. All and all, it was a great story with plenty of heat, drama, tension, and crazy banter.
Lust, Hate, Love perfectly describes Luca and Cates romance, and boy did I enjoy every moment of it. From sultry looks and flirtations to heart pounding sex and disagreements to then finally the happy ever after, this story really does have it all, a true enemies to lovers book. Luna is celebrating her birthday in Vegas with Luca her brother and her best friend Cate, when morning arrives Cate finds herself married to Luca and a hangover to match. Devote catholic Cate wants an annulment which takes longer than a divorce, Luca spots the opportunity to get one over his delusional Ex who humiliated him publicly by asking Cate to stay married long enough so he can attend his Ex’s wedding thus saving face, it was the $10,000 bonus that made her agree. Luca insists that Cate move in with him to substantiate the facade but the more time they spend together the more they realise that hate is just a word and maybe they did have more in common, but this was just a pretence!!! Or not!!!
As always Vivian’s books have a knack of drawing you in so don’t miss out on this addictive read. I was given this as an ARC by the author in exchange for a voluntary honest review which I am happy to provide.
I was hooked from the very beginning with the great character and storyline development! However, the interactions and the chemistry between Luca and Cate kept me totally glued to my kindle until the turn of the very last page!
I just loved this book, from how Cate and Luca wound up married, to where they end up is was hilarious ride and their love hate just draws you in. Cate is so sweet, a terrible dresser along with a great friend to Luna and has some hidden sass that comes out at the perfect time, While Luca is all smooth, good looking with a good dash of arrogance and well neither are that good at communication. Get settled in and be ready for some great literal laugh out loads, very awkward moments, frustrations, some heartfelt times and a bit of a transformation for both of them when Luca strikes up a Deal with Cate to fend off an old flame.
This best-friend’s-older-brother story features Cate (Miss ‘I’m Catholic And Perfect’) and Luca, older brother of Luna. Luna and Cate have been steadfast childhood friends, despite Cate being raised by a single mom without much spare cash, and Luca suspicious of Cate’s friendship. I could really feel the hate between Cate and Luca, and I loved watching how all that changed so believably right before my eyes. My favourite part was the cemetery scene which felt like an emotional turning point. Even though they’re fake married, it’s a slow burn love that grows over time.
I received a copy of this book. My review is voluntarily provided.
I thought that this was a very fun read. Luca and Cate were quite the pair. Their chemistry was off the charts and their banter cutting. I honestly could not stop myself from rooting for them even as my frustration with them increased at their persistent resistance to opening their eyes to what was right in front of them. The story line offers plenty of tension, drama, emotions, sparks and sizzle to grab and keep your attention as these two go down swinging in this enemies to lovers romance.
This Vivian Wood book is just as the title indicates: long time enemies Cate and Luca get so drunk neither can remember their wedding that night in Las Vegas when Luca and his two best friends took his younger sister, Luna, with her two best friends to celebrate Luna’s 25th birthday. Cate, being a good Catholic girl, insists on a more complicated annulment rather than a divorce. This fits Luca’s interests, when his ex shows up with a save-the-date card for her wedding in four weeks and he announces he will need a plus one invite as he is now married. These two have constant tacky misunderstandings leading to anger yet their chemistry is off the charts, made worse when Luca invites Cate to move in with him when his ex says she’ll visit Cate. This fun read follows her getting use to his wealth, going to work at the bar he and his friends own, meeting his parents, sharing her parents, and the two coming to an understanding of why they hated each other in the past and recognizing their love for one another. Recommended!
I loved this book! I read it in one sitting! I had so much fun with it. Luca and Cate are two very stubborn people. They have a past together, they have baggage that still effects them. Their banter is constant and so entertaining. They are definitely attracted to each other despite how much they try to ignore it. The question is can they? Do they really want to? Does love conquer all? Check this book out and find out the answers! Worth every second ! I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance reader copy from the author.
Hmm…this ARC was quite an interesting read, and I was definitely glued until the very end. I had to see if Cate and Luca were ever gonna stop being at each other’s throats long enough to actually let each other in, right?! But, oh, the frustration! Talk about your enemies-to-lovers! As if getting “drunk-married” in Vegas wasn’t bad enough, but staying married until the husband’s shallow, dingy ex-fiancee’ tied the knot?! Sheesh!
Cate and Luca were both feisty and stubborn as hell though. But there were times where I saw little glimmers of hope for these two. The more they really got to know each other, the more they grew a soft spot for one another. If only they weren’t so damn stubborn and got out of their own way! I mean, the sex was never a problem. It was always on point and on fire! I just wished that every time they made an emotional connection, it didn’t always end with nonsense bickering. After a while, the arguments and misunderstandings were a little annoying. And not to play favorites, or anything like that, but it seemed like Luca was always the one apologizing or making the grand jestures.
I love Luca and Cate’s story! She is his sisters best friend and she never understood why he hates her so much. Imagine her surprise, and his, when they wake up in Vegas married! Cate thinks it’s the most awful thing as does Luca, until he realizes that he can use this to his advantage. This is full if wit, tons of snark, and passion that starts out as dislike and turns into something neither of them can deny. Great story!!!!
Married to My Enemy by Vivian Wood is the story of Luca and Cate.
Cate lost her parents in a car accident that left her with just her Grandmother for a family. But she does have her best friend Luna who she been close to since around middle school. Luna has a older brother Luca who she can not stand. They have been at each other since they first met. Along with being total opposites they just cause each other to loose their cool but they do both Love Luna. When Luca throws Luna a gift to Vegas they all go with excitement. But the morning comes with Luca and Cate waking up married. This is where the fun begins because Luca decided that to show up his ex that he is married. So he needs Cate to go along with this and he promises her money that she desperately needs to stay with him pretending for a little while. Cate is a devout Catholic that doesn’t believe in divorce so an annulment is her only true option for her.
This was a fun, hot read that kept me turning pages. I hope to read more from this author soon.
