This steamy enemies to lovers story is full of white-hot romance: drunken Vegas weddings, heated words that turn into seductive whispers, and a love that blooms in the most unexpected place…To love, honor, and disobey.I didn’t mean to marry Luca Leone one drunken night. He may be the hottest guy I know, but he’s still a total jerk. His sly smile, his massive height, and his muscular body just … and his muscular body just don’t make up for how cruel he can be.
Once our drunken haze wears off, he has a proposition for me.
Stay married for two months, just until his ex’s wedding.
And he offers something I really need: ten thousand dollars to save my family home.
The only issue is that I’m forced to spend time with him, at his house and at his bar, often late into the night.
Soon our feisty arguments turn into the hottest hookups of my life.
I can’t resist him. Once I get past his prickly exterior, Luca is just plain smoking hot.
We are both hung up on our mutual pasts, not ready for the flame growing between us.
But we are about to come face to face with the fire we’ve ignited…

That was kinda intense. You could feel the tension that rolls of of Luca and Cate.
Cate is Luna’s best friend and even though she thinks her brother Luca is handsome he is also a jerk to her and why she does not know. Luca looks out for Luna and thinks Cate is bad news. First impression and all. One day in Vegas changes for Luca and Cate, they wake up married. What will come of these two?
Vivian I totally enjoyed this enemies to lovers story. The tension alone draws you in. The story flows so easily keeping you entranced. You won’t put it down. Two strong minded characters with something bad that made them who they are. There is humor, sadness and love that takes you on the journey of Cate and Luca.

I couldn’t get enough of this story. Luca and Cate were the perfect couple. The two have known each other since Cate and Luna, Luca’s sister became friends in middle school. Each come from very different backgrounds and upbringings. Cate has loving parents until one fatal day when she loses them and is raised by her grandmother. Luca has parents who would rather leave he and his sister to caregivers to raise while they travel the world. There begins the trouble they have with understanding what the other perceives is a happy life. I love how these two come to be married to one another and how they must work through all the misunderstandings and tension between them. Luca begins to understand what makes Cate tick as well as Cate realizing that Luca just wants to be loved for who he is. This was such a wonderfully written story. The chemistry these two have is so strong. Add in a grandma who is a bit of a hippie and a crazy ex girlfriend and you can’t help but find this story very entertaining as well. I absolutely loved the HEA and am looking forward to Luna’s book featuring the mysterious man she met while in Vegas with her friends and her brother.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This was definitely a fun story to read with all the angst flying around. I absolutely loved this story from Vivian. As everyone has probably heard what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…well in Luca and Cate’s case you get married and decide to make the ex girlfriend jealous by staying married and going to her wedding after she dumped you. Luca has had a issue with Cate ever since Luna his sister befriended her, so he’s been cruel to her every chance he get’s. She’s secretly had a crush on him and hides it from him and Luna. They go to Vegas for Luna’s birthday then thing’s get a lil sideways when they find out their married, but then he has this crazy idea of staying married…say what
This is one that you need to add to your TBR
It was OK.
Great enemies to lovers story.
Very good!! Luca could be a major jerk and said the F-word too much but ended up being a great read. Luca treated Cate terrible from the day his sister Luna brought her home. Luca took Cate, Harper, Luna’s best friends and two of his friends to Las Vegas to celebrate Luna’s birthday. They all got very drunk and Luca and Cate woke up married. They were going to get an annulment as soon as possible but Luca asked Cate for a big favor first!! A great standalone with an HEA!!
Good sop story, with realistic dialogue, heartfelt characters and good tension between the main couple. Leaves lots of interesting side characters to expand the story with at the end.
Both of the main characters seemed terribly immature and weren’t particularly likeable. Too many editing errors (not sure how the hero’s eyes went from to dark green).
Enjoyed this fun read.
Love this author!! This series is great!!
Had some contradicting changes that I’m not sure were meant to happen.
Excellent book
easy read for a weekend.
This story was amazing….in the beginning. You could feel that sexual tension and you couldn’t wait for them to explore it. However once they did I couldn’t stand either of them. Neither of them could get out of each other’s way and no one wanted to take a chance. Not to mention the whole take her to the wedding thing. the only redeeming qualities was the sex was frequent, steamy, and equal.
This is a steamy enemies to lovers book.
Luca Leone, has just gotten out of a romance. His ex, the one he wanted to wed, left him. He’s been in a horrible ever since.
Cate has been best friends with Luna for nine years, when they were in mid school. Luna is also Luca’s little sister. Cate has known Luca for nine years. However, he’s never given her a second thought or glance. Luca has always thought Cate was not good enough to be friends with his sister. Just because she was a lower class than his family, he shouldn’t have been so judgements against her.
It’s Luna’s birthday and Luca has splurged on a group of the friends to go to Las Vegas, to go all out. Luna found herself a hot man to spend the evening with, it seemed that her brother and best friend – Cate found each other in the morning – married!!
Cate can’t believe this has happened! She tries to get Luca to put the paperwork in for them to get an annulment, but, the lawyers keep saying it’s not a simple task. Luca and Cate spend time together and are actually working in his bar together. Cate still can’t stand him, but, with Luca it seems that he’s growing soft on Cate. He likes her, but, Cate still won’t admit her feelings about him.
Will Cate give into Luca? Will they be able to make their ‘marriage’ work? Will Luca be able to move on from his Ex?
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
I read and reviewed this book voluntarily.
What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.
Cate is in Vegas with her best friend Luna and her brother Luca and some other friends for Luna’s Birthday. The drinks flow and Luca and Luna wake up together married in the morning. Both of them are distraught over it. They cannot stand each other. But when Luca’s ex turns up with a wedding invitation he asks Cate to put off the annulment for a couple of weeks, play happy married couple and go to her wedding; Cate needs the money, so she agrees. Neither one of them saw it coming.
This was a great book. I loved all the characters.
Known each other since childhood, check. Hate each other, check. Undeniable chemistry, check. Cate and Luca have issues with each other, but I just wanted to lock them in a room together until they had a mature conversation and sorted themselves out!! A genre that has been done before, but Vivian Wood turns it into something different!!
Not my favorite Vivian Wood book. The story felt rushed and unorganized. I also couldn’t get a good reading on Luca and Cate. I would start to feel their relationship gelling but then something trivial would unravel it all.
I found Luca to be an okay character, but just generally found very little to like about Cate.
What happens when you wake up married to your enemy? Most people would head for the lawyer but Luca asks Cate to stay married until his ex gets married. Cate needs the money he offers so she agrees. That is just the start of this wild ride between two people who think they hate each other but after living together, they realize the other is not what they thought. There were times I wanted to smack Luca and I even cried with Cate. This story shows that first impressions may not always be correct because we may project our on issues onto someone else’s situation. Vivian’s characters (as always) have so much depth and the story moved along so fluidly that you just have to keep reading. This is definitely a great read! It’s told in different points of view, no cheating, no cliffhanger, and a hea. I highly recommend this book.
I really like Luca and Cate. They had chemistry, sparks flied when they were near each other and their argumentative behavior with each other was filled with want that neither wanted to acknowledge. When they cross a line they never saw coming, the heat between them explodes and feelings come into play! A good story and I’m looking forward to reading the next book.
