Just when retired detective Jake Thomas and his ex-partner, Jo Calloway thought they had things figure out, there’s a new killer in town. But this one wants the Hangman to take all the credit for his handiwork. With Jake back on the scene as an advisor, will his personal connection to the Hangman cloud his judgement? Or will he and Jo find the copycat in time to stop another gruesome crime?
This is the fifth book in the Hangman Series by the author W.L. Knightly [aka Ali Parker and Lexy Timms] and it is, yet again, another ‘corker’of a book and one that you will not be able to put down as you just dare not do so! There is a new killer in town and this person wants the Hangman to take the ‘credit’! SO retired detective Jack is back on the case with his old partner Jo. Written with suspense in bucketfuls this easy to read thriller will keep you sitting on the edge of your seats as the storyline unfolds. Jo and Jack are getting on better and many secrets are revealed in this episode. Whilst they are trying to discover if there really is a copycat, there is another murder. So who on earth is doing it this time? Someone is still missing and not everyone is being helpful. I’m really looking forward to the next book! I received a reader’s copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here. Most Definitely Recommended
If I’ve said it once I’ve said it in every review of this series, I am in awe of the authors’ ability to craft story lines that twist and turn and make you think you’re about to get some answers or actually do get some answers a spanner gets thrown in the works and the story takes a sharp turn that you were assuredly not expecting. The plot arcs so well throughout the series and I am looking forward to seeing how things pan out. The characters growth and development is well done and I have loved taking this journey with them. Just when you’d think they were running out of story, this comes along. There is now a copycat and Jack and Jo will have to discover who is working against them. They also have personal issues to work out but crime keeps getting in the way. Great characters and a page-turning story that just keeps getting more complicated as they go. You’ll be on the edge of your seat. This is book 5. Do read them in order and you’ll have a great binge read. Can’t believe we still don’t have a resolution and I’m not complaining. I like a suspense that has a suspenseful story line and this author duo can certainly deliver. Eagerly awaiting the next book. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
Sinful Crime! #5!
Things are coming together-or are they?
With the copycat killer wreaking havoc on their already intricately involved case, the twists keep coming when the Hangman strikes again!
The heated and heartfelt connection between Detective Jo and Jake comes to the point of admittance, what will that mean for them? Will this impact the ever-evolving case?
This story has intrigued, surprised, and had my brain on overdrive since the very start- I cannot wait for the conclusion!
This series keeps you intrigued and trying to figure out what will happen next. Another killing but this time things are different. Jake and Jo know they have a copycat killer and two more people on the hangman’s list. I can not wait for the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Trying to find the Hangman before it’s to late
Jake and Jo are trying to find the Hangman but now the Copy Cat is making it harder. With Jake making his feels for Jo more apparent he has to try and keep his head clear as there are more twists and turns. Also with only two more people that the Hangman wants and they are Jo’s family, how will she keep a clear head? Will it all will out? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
The plot thickens even more in this one! Again, I devoured it in one sitting! Jake and Jo really have a lot on their hands with the Hangman, copycat and corruption. They also can’t ignore the attraction between them!
This series continues with intrigue and lots of twist and turns to keep your attention until the last page. I can’t wait for the final part to see how it will all turn out. But at the same time, I don’t want this series to end!

FRANTIC & GRIPPING!
Sinful Crime is no exception from the the rest of this series I can’t get enough of it and it always leaves me shaken wanting more. Impacting explosive twists, adrenaline overload, exciting chemistry and impossible to put down.
I’m still not sure whether or not I want to see The Hangman caught before he’s completed his mission. Though his threats against Jo make it a little easier to choose. Jake Thomas is a man caught in the middle of a mess that just keeps getting bigger, with no easy way through. I both love and hate when a book leaves me speechless at the end of it. It means that I was so caught up in the story that I’m still processing, but it also means that I don’t know how to explain what the story has just put me through. I have no idea what’s going to come next in this series and I can’t wait to see what does.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Exciting
Spoiler of volume 4
It’s a good episode, maybe a bit slower than the others, that keeps the riddle and the suspense, but is more of a transition between the serial killer crusade and the development of Kyle’s madness, which create new reversals because the half-brother of Jo, Kyle, the murderer of the family of the Hangman, plays the copycat to eliminate those who disturb him, bogging the investigation in nonsense because the hangman denies his implication. Kyle killed Kendra’s husband to pick her up, imitating the Hangman, but when she found him, she confessed to never wanting him and she fled his madness.
Jo blames herself for betraying even momentarily Jake to help her father, not to mention that Jake is fully aware and it is hard to forgive this betrayal of the one who continues to attract him. However, slowly, they come back to talk to each other and to be able to work together.
The end of this part is quite surprising in what happens to the main characters, knowing there is another tome.
I am reviewing this Advance Reader Copy of this book
I couldn’t stop turning the pages until I came to the end. It was disappointing when I came to the realisation there were no more pages to turn. I wanted more and I’m not sure which side I want to see find Kyle first, Jake, Madden or the FBI.
This series has been totally unpredictable and there are so many twists and turns to keep you intrigued and wanting answers. It would appear that we are running out of corrupt hierarchy and things are about to be given one hell of a shake up as we near the end of the series.
