Given my father’s high-powered profile, some might say I’m flirting with danger. After all, certain decisions come at a high price for a woman in my position… I might have gone a tad bit overboard.
When I nearly face-plant, two strangers come to my rescue. The sad thing is, I don’t remember them. Too much partying and all…
I never expected to officially meet my rescuers.
It turns out they’re American billionaires… and former Navy SEALs. They’re older, too.
It appears our lives are intertwined in the most surprising way, and now I keep asking myself if the wager is worth the risk. Especially when I find out I’m pregnant…
USA Today Bestselling Author Scarlett Avery brings you a red-hot romance you’ll devour in one sitting. No M/M.
Author’s Note: Previously published as Bad Boy SEALs.

Holden, Brandon and Amelia. A totally hot triangle. It makes it a bit complicated that Amelia is the British Prime Minister’s daughter, but the boys seem to overcome this. Amelia is not that experienced but she seems to be shocking her two guys at every opportunity. Charlie welcome’s her to the “Big girl’s club – Club O”. The romantic dates are to die for, they are so sweet and thought out. Holden and Brandon make her their centre of attention in everything they do.
It was a very long book, but the love scenes were absolutely fantastic, they make you very hot indeed.
I voluntarily reviewed this book and highly recommend anything by Ms. Avery.
The story had a good premise and interesting plot with the potential to be a great story but unfortunately it was too dragged out that it lost the intensity and flow. A more concise and tightened plot and flow is sorely needed (right now it felt disjointed and too many things just thrown together). I usually take half a day to maybe 2 days to complete a book (depending on length) but I took more than 3 days to complete this one cos it just couldn’t hold my attention long enough with it’s unnecessary ‘rambling’ and over-long descriptions and explanations. I even stopped midway and completed reading another book in-between! I doubt I would be checking out anything from this author for the time being.
*Spoiler alert* (read at own risk)
There isn’t anything too glaring, annoying or ostentatious about the main 3 characters so they’re generally likeable but at times their thought process, especially Holden and Brandon felt more like college aged kids rather than SEALS turned successful businessmen (their minds were never far from being in the gutter!) There is definite steamy times between the 3 but to speed up the story, could have less focus and description of bedroom scenes and more on the other aspects of their relationship. More times than not it felt that their main attraction to each other was solely physical and nothing more even when they proclaimed otherwise.
Honestly I find it really unbelievable that Amelia’s father (the PM) and the general public would ever be accepting of their relationship since it’s so unconventional but for the purpose of the story, that seemed to have been wrapped up nicely with a HEA bow.
The plot on the PM’s 2nd wife’s machinations just felt a bit too far out but could be because not enough time was spent on seeing it play out (it felt very ‘behind the scenes’ rather than part of the plot). So it felt a bit forced upon the reader rather than letting the reader appreciate reading it play out. I’m also surprised that the PM would so easily believe a claim of pregnancy without having it tested and proved by his own doctors.
Whilst I like that you get a peek into Charlie’s (Amelia’s best friend) life, it felt unnecessary and again added to the drawn out story. Since Charlie has her own story, it wasn’t necessary to outline her story plot here.
This is my personal grouse but seriously…no idea which part of Japan did the author visit or research that gave her the impression that Japan has no coffee/good coffee to offer. Japan has tons of cafes and coffee houses that offers amazing well-brewed coffee (and if she was referring to Starbucks, it’s also available in all the major cities). You can even find regular decent coffee in their convenience marts and vending machines so really there is no shortage or difficulty finding a good ol cup of joe! Reading this in the book just set me off and made me face-palm haha!
I do hope this is a one-off anomaly for this author and her other stories are better written but for now I will hold off checking out her other books.
