Sex. Lust. Lies.New York Times bestselling author, Emma Hart, brings the heat and heart in a brand-new series of sexy standalone novels, starting with SIN…Damien Fox lived up to his name.Cunning, sly, and dangerous, fifty percent of Vegas’ strip clubs were his.Whatever he wanted, money, attention, women, he got.And now he wanted to buy my bar, no matter the cost.I wanted him to go to hell on a … wanted him to go to hell on a first-class ticket.
He played a dirty game, and I followed his rules. I let him think he would win.
Despite our differences, it was clear to see that we were no more than two broken hearts colliding in the darkness.
Closed off, sexy, and holding a pain that would crush a lesser man, he was the ultimate sin.
One I couldn’t deny myself, even though I knew better than to trust a fox…
(SIN is book one of the Vegas Nights series. Each book in this series is a standalone novel.)

I love all of Emma Hart’s books, but this is one of my favorites.
Sin is the first book in the Vegas Nights series by the amazingly talented and hilarious Emma Hart. I have read a handful of her books and I just have to say…this one is my favorite! When I heard there was going to be a new series I was happy but after finishing Sin, I am screaming with excitement for the rest of it.
Damien Fox wanted her bar. Dahlia Lloyd isn’t willing to sell. She would never sell her bar especially to a Fox. A family she was warned years ago to never trust. She had heard the rumors about the way they have ran their businesses made up of strip clubs, casinos, and restaurants. She wasn’t going to be a victim in their game. If they wanted to play, then she was going to win. The Scarlet Letter was hers and nobody was going to take it from her. No matter what kind of tricks the arrogant, sexy, annoying, and infuriating son of Benedict Fox had up his sleeve.
Damien thought he knew Dahlia. He soon found out that he underestimated her. He thought he could easily bring her to her knees, either by convincing her to sell her bar or to offer herself to him. It didn’t work. All she really wanted to do was to knee him in the balls. And it felt exactly like that when she gave him the look of death. But, he still felt it. The want behind her stares. The heat between her legs. She fascinated him and because of that, he wasn’t going to give up. He wanted her bar and he wanted her. Up against a wall. In his bed. She wasn’t going to make this easy. He thought he was ready for her but he had no idea…
This game was harder than Dahlia thought it would be. She wanted to kill him just as much as she wanted to rip his clothes off.
Damien was fucked and he knew it.
I loved, loved, loved this story!! The hate. The heat. The mystery. The pain. The beauty. Everything about it got to me. Damien and Dahlia’s banter is just the best. Ever. The way they play together is hilarious, hot, and smart. And at times it’s beautiful. But is it real? Or are they playing a dirty game?
Overall…I highly recommend it! Once I started it, I didn’t want to stop. I also didn’t want it to end. If you are in the mood to laugh, get all kinds of hot and bothered, and even tear up a bit…read this book! Also, if you enjoy an arrogant asshole with a sweet, and funny side…read this book. If you love a strong woman with a snarky tongue…read this book.
Quotes:
“My name is Damien. Remember it. You’ll need it when you beg me.”
“The only appropriate rhetorical question right now is me asking you how painful you’d like your death to be. If I’m going, you’re coming with me.”
“There’s no way anyone can fill this with books.”
“That sounds like a challenge.” I grinned, setting my purse in the child seat. “Watch and learn, Mr. Fox.”
Emma Hart has outdone herself once again!
Every single novel written by Emma are absolutely phenomenal, and this novel is the exact same.
HOLY HOTNESS!! This novel is literally off the charts steamy and sexy. There were so many scenes and moments where I found myself fanning myself due to the shear sexiness the characters were exuding.
Damien is definitely a character you will fall in love with. Don’t get me wrong, there are some moments where you will have some doubts, but all of the good and awe inspiring moments will make you fall in love with him.
I cannot wait to read book two in the Vegas Nights series. It is bound to blow me away!
5/5 Stars!
*3,5 – 4 stars*
I don’t really know how to start this review. It had such a great beginning and lots of potential for me but at times I felt a bit disconnected from the characters. I loved Dahlia’s character and how she was portrayed but Damien wasn’t really it for me. Maybe it’s just me…
But I’d still say you need to add this to your TBR.
After her dad’s passing, Dahlia returns from a much needed break to deal with an offer made by someone who’s trying to buy her business. As much as she says she will never sell, they don’t seem to want to let it go and she is trying to deal with it the best she can.
Damien never thought that Dahlia would resist the offer he and his dad made to try and buy her business but the more she is resisting, the more he’s attracted to her. Every step of the way, the connection between them gets stronger and Damien will also have to deal with his the past…
SIN, This is book one of the Vegas Nights series written by the amazing author Emma Hart. This is the story of sexy tycoon Damien Fox & beautiful, witty, feisty Dahlia Lloyd. I loved the plot and the characters plus the sex is sizzling. It was an intense reading but with a very romantic ending. N0 Spoilers, go buy the book, it is worth it!!!! I can’t wait to read Perrie’s story in book two.
Such a great read… sinful and the connection is there.. Damien and Dahlia are meant for each other… how can it be so wrong and yet so right for each other?
Dahlia is a strong woman who know what she wants…She is feisty..sexy with a loving heart… how can Damien deny her? He is a very guarded man… his heart was surrounded with thick ice..seems to melt everytime when she is around..
Their connection is seductive.. sexual tension is off the chart…its funny in their own way…
NO SPOILERS!
SIN was my first novel by Emma Hart and it definitely won’t be the last! The storyline and characters were amazing and I absolutely loved it. It exceeded my expectations and I honestly couldn’t have asked for anything better. It took me a little while to really get into the story, but once I did I was hooked. I loved the concept of the plot and that the heroine owned a book bar. I hadn’t ever heard of something like that before, and I thought it was pretty awesome. I loved Ms. Hart’s writing style, and the storyline and characters she created were highly entertaining. It was sexy and sweet with a little mystery thrown in that kept me guessing, and I loved reading every single page of this book. I am definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the Vegas Nights series.
Damien and Dahlia were phenomenal and it didn’t take me long to fall in love with them and their story. I loved their personalities and how their relationship progressed, and I loved discovering more about each of them and their families. The chemistry between them was red HOT and their attraction to one another was certainly undeniable. Damien and Dahlia were extremely likable and relatable characters, and I loved reading their story from both of their POV. They were both strong, independent, and stubborn, but also vulnerable and looking for love and acceptance. The banter between Damien and Dahlia never failed to entertain me, and I loved reading every minute of their story from beginning to end. I loved most of the secondary characters as well, and I’m looking forward to hopefully seeing more of all of them in the rest of the series. I honestly loved everything about SIN and couldn’t have been happier with the conclusion to Damien and Dahlia’s story.
SIN was an excellent start to the Vegas Nights series, and I was more than pleased with the outcome of the book. Emma Hart is definitely a new favorite author of mine, and I am very much looking forward to reading more of her books, especially the rest of the Vegas Nights series!
Damien is not known for having patience, “oh for eff’s sake.” Damien’s tone was deep and guttural, so husky that my heart thumped at the frustration in his voice. He yanked himself away from me. Ripped off his shirt. Threw it down. Grabbed me around the waist. Threw me back onto the bed. Pounced on me.” Damien is one observant man, “he leaned in, laughing quietly. “Sweetheart, you do have enough shoes. I just counted ninety-nine pairs in your closet. You may as well make it a round hundred.” I loved this book, I fell in love with the characters and Damien was just *** on a stick.
“–and get everything he wants just because he’s handsome and smooth with words. Well, he can kiss my ass, because I’m not any woman, and if he things he’s going to get my bar by me jumping into bed with him, he needs to check himself.”
Let’s just start out by saying I LOVE DAHLIA. She is smart, capable, independent sassy AF, and she refuses to give into Damien Fox. Damien is used to people giving in, especially women, and he totally underestimates what she is capable of. This dynamic was one of my favorites in a VERY LONG TIME. So often, even the most independent woman, gives into some hot guy & then they magically fall in love… no thank you. This time was totally different.
Dahlia has suffered a major loss in her life, and coming back to a bar that meant so much to her family, she realizes that she wants to keep things alive as an honor to her mother. Damien Fox waltzes in and expects a wilting, incapable woman who will fall to her knees (literally AND figuratively), and instead encounters a woman with backbone, grit, sarcasm, and true heart. “I was the master of lies and manipulation. She was the master of kindness and truth. I breathed in deceit and exhaled hatred. She inhaled love and signed out laughter.” In their time together, they each discover there is more to one another than their outer appearances & their reputations.
The best part of this story, for me, was the fact that they genuinely disliked each other … until they didn’t. There was so much disdain between them, but also HUGE sexual tension, but they didn’t give right in. They each stood their ground, but still tried to bring the other to their knees. Also, FERGUS I enjoyed so many aspects of this story that I can’t reveal or you’ll miss out on experiencing it firsthand and it’s SO WORTH IT.
“We were nothing until we were everything. Then again, that was the way all good love stories played out.”
I absolutely LOVED this book from start to finish! The chemistry between Dahlia and Damien is epically hot, even though their first few encounters are more antagonistic than romantic. The banter between these two is often hilarious at times, especially as Dahlia acknowledges her awkward moments. Damien is definitely the man of mystery, but we see a few glimpses of the man behind the facade and you know whatever his story is, it ain’t gonna be pretty. Both Damien and Dahlia have suffered tragedies in their lives, the only difference being that Damien’s still living with the guilt of all that happened when he was younger.
What started as merely a way to get her to sell her club detours into the start of something more, especially as Damien realizes that Dahlia is no shrinking violet (see what I did there?) Granted she’s younger than he is, but she’s an astute businesswoman who apparently has a titanium spine. There’s a lot a of back and forth between the two, but her presence in his life seems to bring about some changes in Damien that are very much needed. I do wish there’d been more explanation as to why it was so imperative to get her to sell her club; we got a basic reason, but it felt like there should have been more than was told. And also why her father was adamant that the club would never be sold to the Fox family.
We don’t get to meet a lot of secondary characters; actually, we only get to meet Abby and Fergus, but those two are hilarious in their own way, especially Fergus and his antics. Now, as for the sexy times, they are extra HOT! It’s not like the book is full of sexy times, but each scene descriptive and easy to imagine yourself and your BAE doing the same things. In all honesty though? My favorite sexy time scene was the first time they got it in; something about that was hella hot and spicy!
The story had a satisfying conclusion, especially when it came to the business aspect for both Damien and Dahlia, as well as a step in the right direction for Damien and the issues he’s been living with for the last 8 or so years. I’m looking forward to reading the next book for this series!
