KF Breene pulled out all the stops with this one! Harding? Didn’t see that one coming and it should have been obvious but the author so cleverly misdirected and blurred the edges that it was like a smack in the face.
The intrigue, the battles, the sneaky underhand maneuvering had me power reading through at an incredible rate of knotts. I really couldn’t put this down and *may* have read far too late into the night just to finish it. I may well be yawning and hoping I can cope with work on a few hours sleep at the moment (oops).
I loved how my wish was granted, though being a very typical *insert cackling laugh* author Breene gave with one hand and took away with the other. I’m fairly certain she made this face whilst creating the scene that stomped on my heart.
I’m rambling because my brain is still scrambled from the sheer genius that is this book. Which I must tell you now can NOT be read stand alone. It’s part of a six book series and whilst you could at a push start with book 4, to get the full benefit of this book, this story, you do really need to start at the beginning. Without a shadow of a doubt, and you really need to keep an eye on those pesky shadows, this is a book and series that I hugely recommend.
Some series have books that aren’t as good as the others or just get steadily less interesting after the first book. That is NOT the case here. This series was wonderful, got better with each book, and this last one, Sin & Surrender, is simply inspired!
Kieran, Lexi, the kids and crew finally attend the Magical Summit. Kieran is looking for status and validation as the Demigod in charge of magical San Francisco, the kids are looking to prove that they belong in the magical world, and Lexi? Lexi is just hoping to survive, not embarrass Kieran, and bring everyone home safely. I won’t say much more, to avoid spoilers, but the decision is made to just let Lexi be Lexi, give her chaos magic free rein, and hope for the best! The story is great, the tension is high, the pacing is excellent and the ending – wow. Just wow. I don’t know how KF Breene comes up with these stories, but I’m so glad that we get to live in her head as we read these books. Can’t wait for whatever she writes next!
Fantastic end to the series!
There’s a reason K.f. Breene is called the Queen. There is just so much awesomeness in this story. You have to read this. And you will love it. Alexis, Kieran and the rest of the crew have been so much fun. I’m afraid to gush about all that I Ioved for fear of creating spoilers. Magical San Francisco has been exciting to visit. I loved the entire journey.
Sooo freaking incredible!
A phenomenal finish! Reading this series was absolutely ridiculous and amazing! Watching Alexis’s character development through the series was endearing. Watching all the character developments was fun! I truly didn’t expect it but this series is in my all time favorites!
The storyline was crafted so beautifully, the characters are easy to love, you just get lost in the pages! Magic, action, romance and so much more! I’m sad to see Alexis’s story come to an end but loved that it ended so perfectly!
No seriously. I’m mourning this series like I lost a loved one. This journey has been spectacular, unexpected and unique. This series is the gift that kept giving for me in everyway and to read the end of this book and feel everything I felt just solidifies how great it really it. Books like this are priceless, they don’t come often but mean more that most and just saying.. I’ve read ALOT of books. This is definitely a top 10 series for me.
Lexie, Kieron, Daisy, Mordecai, the Six+2, Bria, Harding.. hell even the cats. I am so invested in every character and their journey. I feel like it’s been one of growth, self discovery and hope. They are a family. A dysfunctional one but a family none the less and that is felt through the pages. Through their interactions, the banter and bickering. The love. It’s there and I loved it.
As far as world building goes this author has surpassed any and all expectations. This world in all it’s weird and wonderful with it’s many cracks and crevices is truly spectacular. I felt like I could imagine everything crystal clear and see what she was telling us through words. It really is the gift that keeps given.
Lexie and Kierons journey was not easy, not even a little. With every book came more development and depth to these characters and more excitement, unpredictability and heartbreak. I was never bored, I was never unhappy with anything and I never felt like I didn’t want to read one because these characters and their story kept me locked in completely consumed in their world.
This book was the icing on a huge cake with a shinny bow on top. Every little question was answered, ever character had their moment and no stone was left unturned. As far as stories go.. it was seamless. I laughed and then laughed some more. I cried, I ranted and raved and I swooned like a crazy lady. Its been a journey for me as a reader reading their journey and I have loved every bit of it. I’m truly sad to see it end and I’m praying with everything that there will be more to come from the likes of Daisy, Mordecai, Bria and the gang. I’m just not ready to let them go yet.
If you love pnr romance then I can’t recommend this enough. It’s action packed, suspenseful, climactic, surprising, steamy, hilarious and above all has characters that you’ll want to invest time in to.
Now at the risk of being a spoiler suzanne I’m leaving it here at this. Pnr doesn’t get much better than this.
4.5
‘Sin & Surrender’ is book six and the finale in K.F. Breene’s Demigods of San Francisco series. This is continues on from ‘Sin & Lightning’. This book is told in multiple POVs, Alexis, Kieran and Daisy.
The conclusion we have all been waiting for. The Magical Summit is in process, can Kieran, Alexis and the Crew stand up against the other Demigods and their Elites.
So many mixed emotions, I am so happy with how things ended with this series but I am so not ready for it to be over. There is still so many things I want to witness with Alexis, Kieran and the Crew. I don’t want to say goodbye, I need to know what is in store for everyone. Will there be little Kieran or Alexis? Will Zorn & Bria get together? Will the Crew find a significant other? Does Mordie become the alpha of his parents pack? So many future possibilities that I need to know…
This review will have to be the most difficult to write as there is so many events that happen that need to be discussed but if they are it will ruin the surprises and shocks that happen when reading it. All I can say is buckle in for one heck of a roller coast!
This was a edge of your seat, nail biting experience you are not going to want to miss. I was absolutely gluttonous with this book devouring each and every word from the beginning to the end.
I am over the rainbow with happiness with how things have worked out, it’s been one joyous journey from book one to this book. Thank you so much K.F. Breene for bringing Alexis, Kieran and the Crew to the world. This series will be something I would be returning to in the future.
Worth the wait
Oh yeah!!! That was great, lots of intrigue, a dash of heartbreak and the rewards that come with unconditional love. It was over the top as usual with Alexis & Kiernan getting far more than they bargained for & still they came out on top. I’m looking forward to Daisy’s tales & I hope that means we get to visit the entire gang too.
I’m sad that this is the end of the series, but man, that was such a ride! Beautiful story about a crazy band of misfits and I love every single one of them!
Like all of Breene’s books: just wonderful
When I finished this book, the last in the series, I was struck by how well the story ended. It was just – complete. The twists and turns in the plot made me go back and re-read books 4, 5 and 6 again so I could appreciate all the little hints in previous books that I didn’t get the first time. Great characters, entertaining dialogue, fantastic plot twists and now I’m wondering about magic in the world for real. Totally recommended but start at the beginning.
What an explosive grand finale! I’m in awe! Whirlwind of emotions, action packed with so many twists and unexpected surprises, and revelations that were greater than I secretly hoped for.
OMG I absolutely loved this series and this last book was incredibly magnificent! You just can’t not to love these amazing characters. Lexi, Kieran and all this misfit family made by choice not blood.
It’s a must read! Page turner that pulls you into story and won’t let you out, keeping you on the edge of your seat.
This was such a fantastic conclusion to the series. Often times, especially with so many threads, an author will focus on a ensuring that a few key lines are wrapped up nicely before concluding the story. Here, I don’t think we could’ve asked for anything else (except, of course, MORE!).
The tension of the Magical Summit was palpable as Kieran and Alexis navigated their way through politically-stormy waters. I was at the edge of my seat for every meeting, every battle, every potential misstep. While I had guessed at a few of the final connections, some of Breene’s twists were a total surprise, making the last couple of chapters that much more enjoyable.
This will definitely be a series that I revisit from time to time, and I hope that the parting lines mean we’ll see more of some of these characters in the future.
What a serie! What a book! This undoubtedly a great serie and this last book leaves us with our heart crying for having reached its end. It’s difficult to image a period without the wonderful characters so brilliantly painted: Alexis, Kieran, Dayse, Mordecai, Bria, the six – plus Jerry and Dylan, and all the others. All their trajectories are so well delineated, the scenarios are so vivid, and the narrative doesn’t lose its pace. All the challenges are well developed and described. The plots are fascinating and there’s no loose end. I’m in love with it.
This book was great. I am so sad to see it end but am ready for Daisy’s story. I think we found closer is this book. I can not even believe how it ended. well honestly I can’t was surprised by how this book went almost all the way through. I love how this author rights. I never can put hers down. I read this book in one day. Get this book today.
The last in this series but not for these characters. This was a great last book. Questions answered twists and turns and surprise! Fun all the way around. I’m sure we will see this world again…at least I hope so
How fitting that this series has reached its culmination at the Magical Summit and what a magical summit it is! Okay, done with the pun now. In all seriousness, this final installment to the Demigods of San Francisco series was absolutely amazing! Lexi completely owns her powers, all of them, and is serious force to be reckoned with at Keiran’s side. The rest of the gang still play their parts with Bria and Daisy taking on somewhat of costarring roles in this book. I know Daisy is definitely being set up for the possibility of a spin-off and I hope Bria is too because she is so amazingly snarky that I laugh every time she opens her mouth. I don’t know how the author keeps delivering on these amazing lines! There’s a lot of curve balls coming at you in this book and, if you loved the rest of the series like I did, you are going to love every page of this last book! I can’t wait to see what comes of certain set ups…
Utterly Brilliant Conclusion!
”Watch out magical world. Here comes the pajama-wearing Soul Stealer with her overgrown white cats.”
WOW! What an absolutely amazing and utterly phenomenal conclusion to what has been an absolutely funny, thrilling and brilliantly written series.
This amazing author does not hold back with this final story. Book 6 is filled with suspense, thrills, twists and laughs. It’s an explosive finale that will get its hooks into you and won’t let you go. Buckle up because Alexis takes us on one hell of a rollercoaster ride.
”Demigod Kieran is my boyfriend and the holder of my mark, not my keeper, and you sir, are a cowardly little bitch who needs his balls cut off.”
There is no end to Alexis’ sass, wit and sarcasm. She kept me laugh right to the end. She’s an amazing character that has grown so much from the beginning of this series. She is a kickass heroine who will fight to the bitter end for those that she loves.
This book is a wild rollercoaster ride, told by a brilliant storyteller. A series you don’t want to miss out on. Highly recommend this whole series!
Such an AMAZING ending to such an AWESOME series!!!!
What a bittersweet moment this is. I loved this series, the ending was perfect and the series didn’t go on and on until people were tired of reading it. PERFECTION!! But I’m sad to say goodbye to these characters. I have come to love all the characters in Demigod Kieran’s circle, Jack, Zorn, Donovan, Boman, Henry & Thane, of course Demigod Kieran (yummy), Bria (the best friend that could be matched with Alexis), Dylan, Jerry, Red, Harding, Alexis and her kids (Mordecai & Daisy). Alexis is such a quirky, awkward, caring, protective and powerful person. She is my favorite character, then of course Kieran, and of course Bria!! But I loved them all so much!! The giant white fluffy guard cats were the best! This is the most UNIQUE, ROMANTIC, ACTION FILLED, HYSTERICAL AT TIMES, MYTHOLOGICAL, PARANORMAL ROMANCE… EVER!!!! YOU MUST READ IT!!!!
Sin & Surrender (Demigod of San Francisco #6) by K.F. Breene is the final book in the series and a fantastic ending to this paranormal world. As I have said on more than one occasion KF is one of my favourite authors and I have an addiction to her storytelling. I love her crazy and love, love, love the characters and their banter and the world in which she created. KF’s writing has the ability to transport you into the story and become one of the characters. Unfortunately this book is also bittersweet for me because it is the end of this magical world and the characters who have come to life and feel like family. A crazy, sassy, beguiling and unpredictable family nevertheless. It is a story with everything you need to make it a great paranormal story – with magic and betrayal, danger and mystery, suspense and drama.
A stunning finale to what has been a fantastic series that has kept me entertained and caught up in this world from the very beginning. I have loved these characters with a passion and watched them grow and mature in skills and character along the way. Another not to be missed series from K.F. Breene!
The Magical Summit has eventually arrived, all the plotting and scheming has been for this one meeting of all the Demigods and their crews. This is where Kieran has to earn his stripes so to speak, he needs more allies and has to prove his worth to the other Demigods. His job is to attend the meetings and deal with the political maneuverings going on and is not able to help Alexis and his crews out, their job is to physically fight the other Demigod crews. Of course Alexis is the unknown in all of this, no one having seen just what she is capable of, so everyone wants to fight them. There is also the question Lexi’s mating mark and whether she was coerced into having it that also needs settling at some point, she is not safe until this has been done.
Daisy and Mordecai are also there, both seen in a bad light by the other Demigods, with Daisy being the only non-magical human present and Mordecai being the rejected shifter, but both prove their worth in countless ways, showing just how much these characters have grown throughout the series.
This last book is full to the brim of action, adventure and magic as all the pieces from the series fall into place. There are shocks and surprises along the way, its also witty and funny and with have you laughing out loud in some places. It really has you on the edge of your seat as the battles and suspense build along the way.
I loved it! It’s the perfect end to the series, I hadn’t guessed who Alexis’ helper turned out to be at all!! I will be sorry to see this series end, but am hoping that maybe Daisy and Mordecai get their own spin off books, they have certainly earned it!! A must read for PNR fans.
