The fourth book in the Amazon Charts Bestselling series by Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author, K.F. Breene.Kieran has stepped up to take his place as the ruler of magical San Francisco. As his girlfriend I’m in the spotlight, and the Hades Demigods have taken notice. They want me on their team, and they don’t plan on asking nicely. Kieran and I are both under fire. They will … under fire. They will kill him to get to me, and they’ll take me by force if necessary. It is essential I learn more of my magic.
With no other options, I do what scares me the most – I summon the last Spirit Walker to help train me. Except, he’s a loose cannon with looser morals, and learning spirit is treacherous. I might evade the Demigods only to be lost in spirit forever.

Oh my Hades…oh my Posidon!
Where do we even start?? This is the 4th book in this exceptionally good universe that K.F. Breene has created.
Now I haven’t actually read any of her other work – but that will be next whilst we wait for the 5th instalment Sin & Lightning (Expected publication: July 10th 2020) which is not that far off. And boy can it not come soon enough!!
Sin & Spirit (Demigods of San Francisco Book 4) pretty much starts off where we left off in Sin & Salvation (Demigods of San Francisco Book 3) and I am very happy that whilst the first couple of books were a little bit slow burn ( 1#Sin & Chocolate (Demigods of San Francisco Book 1) 2#Sin & Magic ), this book is pulling out all the fireworks!
We have WAR again! Amazing scenes of war and Lexi learning on the go (as she does) – the heat is up – Magnus is plotting but there is also yet another Demigod of Hades plotting…
This book pulled at all the strings. I was crying, laughing…sobbing… the love is there – sooo much of it – but what is a war without sacrifice and casualty…?
This book doesn’t disappoint, I could not put it down at all!!
Alexis is learning more and more about her magic..with a little help from the other side… And her love for Kieran is so beautiful, they are really growing.
I can’t wait for the new book to see where all this is going – because just like the other books we are left with a slight cliffhanger!
Oh my, KF Breene, I can’t believe you went there. No spoilers, but talk about running us through the wringer (not to mention your characters)! In this episode of the Demigods of San Francisco, other Demigods are starting to poke at Kieran, the ‘child’ Demigod, to discover his strength and weaknesses and to see if they’ll be able to snatch Lexi away from him. We get epic battles, new types of magical creatures (a Possessor!), heartbreak, joy, and tension. Lots of tension. In fact, I had to fight to keep from peeking at the end of the story just to see who made it – and I almost never do that. Breene’s world building is good, the cast of supporting characters is stellar and she somehow is able to write leading characters from her different series who have very different personalities and stay true to their characters. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
And the plot thickens…
This intricately woven world of weird and wonderful is a trip. Talk about great world building and character development.
Alexis and Kieron defeated his father together and get to live happily ever after right?. Wrong. Now with the world knowing what Alexis is and Kieron stepping up into his father’s old shoes their lives have never been more at risk from all directions. They have never been so exposed.
This author somehow wrangles a great unpredictable action packed plot that holds huge amounts of humor, sensual goodness and sweet vulnerability. And she makes it all make sense. These characters are depthy with huge personalities and yet they don’t over power one another, instead they all have a part to play and a uniqueness that only they can provide to the story. The chemistry, the connection… It’s everything. From the banter and bickering to the love that is palpable between them all, it really is impossible not to love this dysfunctional family vibe they all have. It’s also what makes this book more heartbreaking than the rest. Like I said, this author is unpredictable and she proves that in this book with unexpected happenings that I wasn’t ready for.
Book 4 like the others before this one brings all the feels. It’s the kind of story you can’t put down and one that’s very hard to predict so your left hanging on for dear life until the end wondering how you got there.
I am so ready to get on to book 5 after where this author left this book.
‘Sin & Spirit’ is book four in K.F. Breene’s Demigods of San Francisco series. This is continues on from ‘Sin & Salvation’. This book is told in multiple POVs, Alexis, Kieran, Daisy, Bria and Magnus.
Valens is gone, Kieran got his vengeance for his mother, the threat that Valens portrayed is no more. Valens may be gone but the threat to Alexis, her wards and Kieran is only just getting started. The Hades Demigods know about Alexis and her powers as a Spirit Walker and they are going to do whatever it takes to get her.
Firstly, No, No, NO!!! I am not ok, absolutely not ok with events that took place in this book. Why, oh why did you have to go and do that to my heart Ms Breene? That was cruel, evil and so so mean…
This book has gone and absolutely destroyed my heart, it has been ripped out of my chest, squeezed, trampled on and shattered. I don’t even know where to begin to start putting it together.
Just like the other books in the series be prepared for one hell of a ride, twists and turns, surprises, angst, shocking revelations, unpredictability, awe and swoon moments. But bonus to pick you up off the floor the hot and steamy scenes with Kieran and Alexis.
I have no idea where to start or wait to say that can honestly do this book any justice, I feel as this book has been the most enjoyable and highly addictive one thus far. The overall experience of reading it can not be expressed with words.
The “family” we have all come to love continue to stick together and grow stronger as a unit. A new character is introduced and he is something else…
This book will surely mess with you emotions, but if you stick it through, I promise you we enjoy it, hopefully as much as I have. But maybe have some tissues and chocolates near by.
I can’t wait to see what is next for this bunch, looking forward to reading ‘Sin & Lightning’.
Another fantastic read in the series. After the battle between fathers and son, Kieran must begin mending Valens’ old territory and set things right. Alexis’ magic being out in the open unsurprisingly attracts attention from the magical world, leading to concerns that Magnus may now try to make his move.
While the book was again filled with Alexis and her wards further coming into their own, and the group learning how to function between as this expanded unit, there was no shortage of action and intrigue. From the very first chapter, I was hooked.
I am a big fan of K.F. Breene, and this is one of my favorite series of hers.
This book was hilarious and I cannot wait for the next installment
Sometimes you just don’t know whether you want to hug an author or punch them!
Not only does K.F. Breene crow bar a humongous amount of plot, funnies, smexy time, action and adventure into this book, she also throws a huge side serving of heart break into it too. It’s one of those books that you shouldn’t start reading just before bedtime, because there is NO WAY you will be able to put it down after only reading a few chapters. No sir-ee, once started this book will sink it’s claws into you so deeply that you won’t want to put it back down until you have read and savoured every single word.
Kieran, Alexis, Daisy, Mordecai and all the other amazing characters that inhabit this world, both real and spirit based are all absolutely amazing. There are so many different people and each one has their own distinct and unique voice in the book. Some are likeable, others immensely loveable, whilst a handful are vile and despicable beings but they all have depth and personality by the bucket full.
I never know where the story will take me, I never even begin to suspect what surprised are in store and what curve balls will be thrown in my direction. I do know that I will love every moment of it, even when I hate what is happening, even when my emotions are being stomped on, because the writing is so fantastic and the story so amazing that I can’t help myself.
I can’t wait for Sin & Lightning, I’ve already got it on pre-order.
Fantastic! Excellent plot line! There’s action, drama, sexiness, sadness, triumph, laughter, and family type stuff in here. Oh my gosh, the suspense will slay you! I really enjoyed all the little details and getting to know the characters even more! Daisy is so badass!!! Love her!! Alexis and Kieran are the perfect couple! Bria is fabulous. I even liked Aubri, she’s spunky and honest. I can’t WAIT until. The next book is out!!!!! Gimme!
Loved it!!!
Wow, Sin & Spirit was everything I could have wanted and more in the continuation of Alexis and Keiren’s story. I laughed at all the snarky goodness and there were tears as well. Can’t wait for Sin & Lightening.
Whenever one thinks of taking a breathtaking book, he or she should pick up this serie to read. From the very first volume till this one, a fast paced story develops before our eyes, mind and heart. It’s a really difficult task for an author to keep this pace, but K.F. Breene amazingly does it. It’s great to know that we will have more of it very soon.
So incredibly good!
The Demigods of San Francisco series is already one of my absolute favorites and every book is just amazing but Sin and Spirit brought it to new heights. After the last book I wasn’t sure where the series was going and how the series would progress after there was a mini-conclusion but the direction of this book was just so amazing I no longer have a doubt about how future books will turn out. The storyline is great, the characters are absolutely fantastic, and the writing is perfectly hilarious. I hope this series never ends because I know I will always want more of this world and its characters. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book!
You’d think after all the drama of Sin & Salvation Kieran & Lexi would deserve some peace & quiet , sadly others have different idea’s & while the little family are more than capable of defending themselves nothing comes without a cost & the price is almost too much to bear , grab your hankies because you will need them & maybe a hug too . The upside is Lexi is a strong woman & so is her ward Daisy , my favourite lines in the entire book surround that awesome girl who has taken what life has thrown at her & kicked life in the face for throwing it , describing Daisy as a monster in a dolls skin was an understatement but ” hell in razor-spiked heels ” sums her up perfectly, the people who got their hands on her by mistake will definitely rue the day .
I am a bit upset with Ms. Breene right now! As with all of the previous books, this is now my new favorite, but I cannot tell you how embarrassing it was to read this one in public! I yelled, I screamed, I cried, I laughed and onlookers believed I was completely insane! It is all her fault!!! She broke me!
There is so much going on in this latest edition right from the start! It is a bit darker than the previous books, and a bit more sexy and sad.
There is so much more danger now that Alexis is out in the open. She is learning so much more about her craft but it is not enough. Bria has taught her all that she can. Keiran has had to step into his father’s shoes and that means new enemies, none of whom have come out in the open. He is fearful of Alexis not being able to protect herself so he tries to find her a teacher. Bria has another, more perilous idea of who it should be. Alexis tries things out his way and discovers it will be a waste of time. She then tries things Bria’s way and the chaos begins! Now she has a new teacher and I just cannot decide if I like him or not but I know for sure he should not be trusted.
What happens next will keep you on the edge of your seat, throw you off of it and then make you break it into a million angry pieces!
There is still an unanswered question I have so this better not be the end of these characters!
Firstly, please be aware this is not a stand alone book, this is book four in K.F. Breene’s Demigods series and they should be read in order so that the reader has the build up groundwork for this series.
Kieran has stepped into his role as ruler of San Francisco after defeating his father in battle with the help of Alexis, his girlfriend, a Spirit Walker. This has thrown Alexis, who, before Kieran, was content to live in the cracks of the dual society zone with her two wards, into the spotlight and the public eye.
Now, with a Demigod using their shadow spirit to assess Alexis and Kieran, the clock is starting to countdown again. Alexis, in an attempt to learn more about her magic, calls forth the last know Shadow Walker from the beyond to help her train. But will she be able to trust the former assassin? Does she have a choice?
I love this series and book four was no exception. There is romance, wit, humor, action, suspense and sadness that I really did not see coming at all. This is a great series but again, they need to be read in order because they are not stand alones!
Utterly Thrilling!
WOW! This series keeps getting better and better. It’s nonstop action, suspense and intrigue right from chapter one. I was completely hooked and highly entertained with all of the twists and turns throughout the story. Way to keep me on the edge of my seat!
All of the characters are phenomenal, even the new ones in the story! They each add their own unique personalities and skills to all of the good and bad situations that they seem to get themselves into. There were many laugh out loud moments with all of the snarkiness, sarcasm and insults being thrown around.
The writing and storytelling is phenomenal as always with this amazing author. She knows just how to keep us entertained and captivated with her fantastic characters and the magical way she weaves her words!
I must say that I absolutely love the new addition of the character Red! Here’s to hoping she stays alive and kicks some butt before her time is up!
Highly recommend this whole series! Phenomenal!
Loved it! Full of twists and turns and action. Hang on for a heck of a ride. Don’t think 3 more will be enough for this crew. K. F. Breene has developed a world we just want to stay in forever!
Book 4 in K.F.’s Demigods of San Francisco series, another fantastic addition, full to the brim with a whole host of things going on, this one will have you on the edge of your seat and be pulling on your heartstrings at the same time!!
Kieran has stepped up into the role of Demigod for San Francisco after he and Alexis took out his Dad in the last book. There’s a lot more to this role than Alexis thought, she’s still the same simple girl, magically untrained and down to earth, she has been flung into the limelight where everything she does is now scrutinized, photographed and commented upon being the girlfriend of the Demigod.
She gets some help in the fashion and beauty department, much to her disgust, but knows if she is to progress in her magics she must contact the last Spirit Walker and see if he will train her, putting her in dangerous and unknown territory. But with he Hades Demigods after her, willing to go through Kieran for her, she has little choice.
I love Kieran and Alexis, they are brilliant characters and they really go well together. She is full of self doubts about her image and her magic, but he is always there for her, sharing his world and his love and magic, their connection is powerful and passionate. They are even more connected in this book, with Keiran feeling the soul connection he has with Alexis and is able to feel her and her emotions.
All the other side characters in here have developed more in this book also, with Keiran’s Six and Daisy and Mordecai all faced with their own dangers and challenges also.
A brilliant and enthralling story line, full of drama, magic and passion with some plot twists that will really pull on those heartstrings, I really felt for Alexis in this one, she really is made of strong stuff as you will find out!
A not to be missed series this one for any PNR fans out there.
This is a book you’ll want to put your feet up and get comfy for, as this is a book that’s really hard to put down! I love the quirky characters and the relationships of Alexis, Kieran, Daisy, Mordecai, Bria and Kieran’s six. Alexis is in the public eye and the Demigods Aaron and Magnus, from Hades line, both want her and are setting plans in action. Alexis will need to expand her training and learn some serious spirit maneuvers to keep everyone safe. I love Alexis and that she’s unpredictable. Whenever she learns something new with spirit, she puts her own spin on it, and that will surprise those coming after her. This book is action-packed, with danger, adventure, magic, ghosts, romance, mystery, suspense, Demigods, battles, necromancers, shape-shifters, family and laugh-out-loud humor!
Absolutely fascinating!!!!!! There are so many other descriptions I could use, but I would rather you just start reading. I spend more time with my fictional family than I do with my ‘real’ one. The emotions this book put me through, well, they gave my ‘real’ family a run for their money. I always enjoy the humor in this series. The tears, I was not expecting that. They were uncontrollable for a bit there. However, the talent of an author to make them worth it, that’s what I really appreciate. The characters are each individually amazing. My advice is to start at the beginning, that is a must. Things pick up right where the previous book ended. Things are falling apart and coming together at the same time. The action is non-stop!! Magic in so many different variations. Alexis and Kieran are one powerful force. The introduction of Harding caused the kinda ruckus we enjoy. With answers he also brought questions for the group. The Demigods are starting a game on a whole new level. Before I spoil this for any reader, I will stop here. I leave you with only my solid recommendation that this is a must read series. The next book could not come soon enough.
