SPEECHLESS!! ULTIMATELY SPEECHLESS!! SIN OF LOVE by Laura Halloran was the Icing on this Mind Blowing Cake!! It was such a Rollercoaster ride of Emotional TWISTS AND TURNS that will Leave you Breathless!! Once you thought everything was right in ther World…then BAM!! RIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES!!
Ms. Halloran loves to put you through her World of Words and Never disappoints. We knew at the End of ART OF SIN, you were going for a Freakn Wild ride of Epic proportions which she accomplished! Gideon and Deirdre’s story continuously digs deeper into their Souls for their vulnerabilities. Tells you LOVE can either Break you or makes you Stronger. Their love for one another shone in SIN of LOVE…gives you all the feels and the EMOTIONAL impact can overwhelm you. It was Beautifully Written and a Definitely a Must Read Duet!!
I didn’t think it could get as dark as this, but it did. My emotions were all over the place. The suspense was palpable at times, it punches you in the gut.
Deirdre’s courage shines in this conclusion. She is a consummate survivor. Her love for everyone she cares for is tested to the limit.
I’m glad we get to see Gideon’s POV frequently in this one. It really enhances his character and made me fall in love with him more.
Great to see characters from previous books make appearances throughout, like comfort food.
Whoo! This starts out heavy and doesn’t let up. Our heroine, Deirdre, is in the one place she never thought or wanted to be again…in the hands of her worst nightmare. But damn, she did it to herself! The revelations of just how little control she had over her life for the last ten years are jaw dropping. Julep is one of the best twisted villains ever. While Deirdre is going through hell, so is Gideon but in a different way. At least he finally calls in the troops with the help of Nate and rallies to go get his woman. What transpires is dangerous and heart stopping but badass Liam is on the job. Great to see characters from previous stories. The second half of Deirdre and Gideon’s story is dark, disturbing and suspenseful with lots of triggers. Both of these two have a tragic past with Deirdre having the worst of it and both have a lot to overcome to get to a good place. I had a better sense of the connection between these two in this story versus the first one and really liked how they ultimately ended up. I love this author’s enthralling writing, unique and complex characters, and beautiful romances. Terrific ending to this dark romance duet. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
What a wild ride! With the way Art of Sin ended, I knew we were in for quite a story and L.M. far exceeded my expectations. I had to take a couple days to process before writing this review, it was so good. I am in love with Gideon and his strength and patience. I don’t know if I have seen another man fight so hard for the love of his life. Deirdre is one strong and amazing woman to not be completely broken after everything. Their love for each other lights their darkness. This is the top read of 2019 for me and it will be hard for another book to top it.
HOLY HELL SWEET BABY JESUS is what I said after reading this conclusion of this duet. I mean I don’t know where to start with this review because after the huge cliffhanger in the first book I was wondering where the second book was going to go and where it went just blew me away and had me on pins and needles and had me screaming at my kindle and crying.
I just love Deidre’s story but Gideon’s was amazing and haunting both at the same time. Deidre has left and taken Gideon’s heart and soul with her. He is a broken man and wants her back, no needs her back to live to breathe. But Deidre is broken as well and she needs to heal and then they can get back together again if they are going to get back together.
This is a must read duet and if you read book one you need to finish the duet and see where Deidre and Gideon go. This is dark and intense and so loving that it will break your heart!
Absolutely love this book. Everytime I thought I had the story figured out, the story totally changed and in so many directions and it caught me off guard multiple times. I will admit I spent the whole day reading this book and didnt want to put it down, the moment I did I couldn’t wait to get back to the story because I wanted to find out how the story ended. Great book!
#BOOKHEAVEN for this #fangirl
In love with this story Definitely your next 5 star Read
The conclusion to this duet is fantastic. This story took me on such a crazy emotional journey. It ripped my heart out and chewed it up before putting every little piece back together again. This is my favorite dark romance to date!
Exceptional ending to a wonderful duet. This such a heart wrenching story. You feel so much for the characters. LM did an amazing job!!
**ARC REVIEW**
What a journey this has been with Diedre & Gideon!!! It was absolutely breathtaking and suspenseful.
Diedre has to relive the horror of her past to keep her brother Nate and her love Gideon safe. She has a plan, she’s been preparing for and hopefully it will keep her alive.
Gideon is lost. He thought finding his mom after committing suicide was painful. Not until he fully lost his true love Diedre and he fears shes dead. He has become useless and has lost all sense of wanting to feel or be alive.
Two people who have found love in the most unconventional way. The love is true and it’s so real for them.
You struggle to keep your shit together between the horror Diedre is going through and the pain/lost Giedon is fighting through.
I really didn’t want this story to end. L.M. Halloran always leaves me mesmerized and intrigued with her characters.
I’m looking forward to an extension to this story!!!
I hope you are left as in awe as I was with this Duet!!!
This book did not disappoint! I knew I was in for one heck of a ride after the ending of the 1st book! What an amazing story! Deidre and Gideon are everything! Their love for one another survived after so many things that happened. I absolutely loved this story! I couldn’t put it down!
I’m totally, utterly, gutwrenchingly crying. I’m so happy that Gideon and Deirdre got their happy ending. The pain and heartache to get there was so real, I could feel everything they were experiencing because of how well written this was. Laura is one of those rare authors that make me feel like I am in the story, I’m not just reading a book, I am part of it.
Tick tock… Times up…
I didn’t know where Gideon and Deirdre’s story would lead. I knew I would be lead through so much darkness. Oh Deirdre… Even through her darkest moments, she was such a strong woman. She was so protective, loyal, and compassionate. She believed that she was broken beyond repair. Deirdre could see any light in the midst of so much darkness. Gideon was her light. You know while typing that last sentence I teared up a little. I remembered how Gideon felt so lost and lonely without his other half.
When Gideon and Deirdre find each other again, they were changed. Not just physically by the passing of time but they were changed emotionally. The love was still but they had to put in so much work. Gideon was so selfless in his love. I know he struggled to remain that way. But he didn’t for Deirdre… There are many parts throughout the story that broke me. The quote, which was a part of that breaking, came from the mouth of Gideon. “I’m not afraid. Your dark matches my dark.”
Like damn… Damn… This story was EVERYTHING. No lie. I put that on everything. I loved being a part of Deirdre and Gideon’s ever evolving relationship. I loved seeing past characters from Double Vision and Perfect Vision. I miss the characters already… I don’t know how to move on. There is only one Laura Halloran and she knows how to weave such a wonderful tale.
I’ve rarely met a character so in need of a happy and peaceful ending like Dierdre. She’s been broken, brought roughly to the edge of sanity and internal damnation, and yet she continues to endure. She fights with all she is and will be, and she motivates those around her to fight for and with her, as well. Although, Gideon was so obsessively besotted with her from the beginning, I think it’s fair to say, he followed her to Hell and would continue to do so every day for the rest of eternity just for the pleasure of being by her side. Gideon loves Dierdre how every human wants to be loved. Without preamble, without prejudice, without judgement. It’s a beautiful thing to behold. Maybe a little blind at times, but beautiful and not at all misguided, nonetheless.
As I often do with duets, I wish I had been given a bit more. More of Gideon and Dierdre together. Okay, so there is a lot of that here (the majority of the book is just the two of them), but there’s also a lot of detox and difficulty. So, we don’t see these two traversing many of the simplicities of a relationship. To be fair, I suppose that’s not why readers read, for the simplicity. We don’t necessarily need to see these two making a trip to the grocery store or discussing favorite colors in order to validate their relationship, but it would have been nice for them to revel in some normalcy. Just a bit. Just to further connect these two in something other than conflict and personal anarchy.
Truth be told, this duet is not what it seems. It’s not the story of an intensely strong woman meeting an artistic wild man and falling in love. Okay, correction. It is that story. But there is a lot of background here. A whole mess of background that you can get lost in because of the twists, turns, and darkness. But it is absolutely worth the exploration.
It’s an amazing conclusion to Deirdre and Gideon’s story. An emotional rollercoaster filled with angst and so much feels. Deirdre and Gideon were destined for each other. Their love was unbreakable. And Gideon.. what a wonderful man he was. He has a heart of gold. I enjoyed every minute of this book and was happy how this story ended up.
Heart wrenching and hauntingly beautiful. This story completely broke me. I knew there would be darkness before light but the story took me to a whole new level. Deirdre and Gideon’s passion and love consumed their need to protect the other no matter what the cost. You catch the depths of despair and true emotions pouring off the pages. The tears and frustrations I felt while reading almost cost me a kindle. The most emotional story I have read by her and my favorite. Must read and would give more than five stars if possible.
4*
Deirdre had no option but to follow Julep’s demands to keep Gideon & Nate safe but can & will it be enough?
Gideon is going out of his mind trying to find her, can he convince Nate & Cameron to help. The past has come back to haunt her & Gideon’s future.
This was an amazing conclusion to Deirdre and Gideon’s story which takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. Deirdre and Gideon were destined for each other. Their love was unbreakable. If you want a book that leaves you better for having read it, with characters that will forever hold a place in your heart, be sure to grab Gideon and Deirdre’s story today!
LM Halloran has completely out done herself. This is by far my favorite read of 2019. In the conclusion to this epic duet, we find out more about Dierdre’s secrets and the lengths she will go to in order to protect the ones she love. We also learn more about Gideon, his thoughts, and what he will do for Dierdre. Their love story is truly breathtaking. Halloran takes you to emotional places you never even knew existed. This. Duet. Is. Everything. I highly recommend this duet, it absolutely amazing!
I couldn’t put this book down! L.M. Halloran did an amazing job in building up the dark world Deirdre is currently living in. I love the transformation we see in Gideon as he becomes the strength and light Deirdre needs.
This is the second series I have read B
By L.M. Halloran and I’m hooked on her work. She more than delivers and takes you into her characters worlds as well as the world she created in her head.
Beautifully written and always recommend her to anyone that asks for worthy reading material!!
