An Amazon Charts, Washington Post and Top 5 Amazon Store bestselling series! Some people are ordained for greatness…Those people usually have a lot of drama in their life. Drama I happily do without. I live in a forgotten corner of nowhere for a reason: there is safety in anonymity. I have enough problems just trying to get by.But when Kieran, a sinfully sexy demigod at the pinnacle of power, … by.
But when Kieran, a sinfully sexy demigod at the pinnacle of power, crashes into my life, suddenly my whole world is turned upside down.
He’s harboring a deadly secret, one that could destroy all he holds dear. He thinks I’m the key to his salvation, and he wants me to help him claim vengeance.
He also wants me with a passion that burns my body from the inside out.
To ignore him is impossible, but to give in to my desires, even for a night, would thrust me into danger I might not survive.
Can I resist the temptation?more
Paranormal romance and UF combined. Good characters, especially the adopted “kids”. The romance is formula but the rest is interesting.
This book slid down my gullet like a smooth gulp of dark, hot chocolate. The heroine raising down-on-their-luck street kids, the intriguing magic, the tantalizing love interest. My only issue is that I *needed* book two immediately and it isn’t out yet.
Something different, I like the relationship with MC and her wards. This book has everything I look for in good book. Its, funny, suspenseful and romantic. This books keeps you interested and is easy to follow. I look forward to the next book.
Alexis is a Ghost Whisperer. Kieran is a demigod. They are attracted to each other. Alexis is strong and stands up to him. She loves her two teenage wards, and will do anything to protect and provide for them. I like her relationship with them. The plot has surprises. There is danger and humor. I like how Alexis has ghosts friends who look out for her
These characters filled my head, now I need more, waiting on the next book in the series.
This is KF Breene’s newest series. You will not be disapointed by any series she writes. She is one of my top favorite authors. Dark Humor, Action, Steamy and best of all Kick Butt lead females!!!!
I enjoyed this book. The characters have interesting personalities. Can’t wait for the second book.
Mmm, yummy! KF Breene kicks off a new paranormal romance series with “Sin and Chocolate”, and it is awesome! The set up with the heroine and her two wards is fabulous. There are mysteries in her past and in her magic to solve, plus development for the kids, too. And then, enter the hero … oh Kieran, he is lovely and tortured even as he’s kick-ass strong. This promises to be a brilliant series, with potential for spin-off stories (Kieran’s team members are very cool).
I found the biggest question this books leaves me with is ………………………..when is the next one out because i really need it .This story hooks you from the first page , Alexis literally does see dead people , she even talks to them but it’s hardly a profitable magical skill. After coming to the attention of Kieran in a unique fashion she sparks his interest by ignoring & abusing him , definitely not something this DemiGod is used to . This book will at times , lots of times, tug at your heart strings , Alexis & her brood are feisty , funny & fiercely protective of each , no hot , sexy , wealthy Demigod is going to worm his way into their lives easily , for his part the more you find out about Kieran the more you see he is so much more than his public persona .
Great new outing for K.F. Breene with all new characters you will fall in love with immediately. If you like a snarky heroine and a sexy hero, this is the book for you!
What a new and interesting world K.F. Breene has created once again. The characters are her trademark headstrong, powerful, witty, and loudmouthed. Their powers though are very different than characters in her other worlds. This made the book quite unpredictable and intriguing to read. Alexis, the female lead, is very different than Breene’s other female leads which is what drew me in. Although they all have the standard Breene snark, she’s created someone vulnerable yet headstrong, young but matronly, strong yet diplomatic, and completely unique in her magical prowess. Breene also has a nice balance between the magical and non-magical in this new world.
Breene does a decent job explaining these new magical beings throughout the story by revealing little by little which adds to their character; however I did get a bit impatient at the beginning and did some outside research so I could better understand what to expect out of the characters in the pages to come. One complaint I have is that when Alexis is in a bind and needs income fast, she turns to selling her powers in the same way Penny did in the DDVN series. I can concede that it does add to the development of the story; however I just wish there was a different fallback plan since it’s already been done before in her books.
Overall, the uniqueness of the main characters really captivated me and I think there is a ton of possibility for this series to be the best one yet created by Breene. Both main characters’ powers are very different than other series I typically read which makes it that much more new and exciting to read. As always, I can’t wait for the next installment in the Demigods of San Francisco series.
One hot Demigod that is used to getting what he wants and a spirited female lead that doesn’t know her own strength make for a hilarious and heat filled start to this new series.
It really had me laughing out loud. Daisy and Mordecai are a riot and I really want more on Kieran’s Six. Also I can hardly wait to learn about Alexis and her parents.
There is so much to learn about so many of the characters that I hope this is a long series.
I devoured this witty, sexy book in one sitting. This is one of my favorite reads this year! Well done K.F. Breene!
I always fail to express how amazing K.F. Breene’s stories are. She is one of my absolute go to authors and everything she writes is reading gold! I am just not worthy but I will try.
“If we don’t push through our fear, we will never learn what it means to achieve true success.”
This quote from Sin & Chocolate pretty much sums up each and every one of K.F. Breene’s stories and their resilient, tough, independent female leads. They are always woman who may not have a lot of faith in themselves but are always willing to push through with everything they have and find their inner strength to get everything and anything done to protect the people they love and to do the right thing. She creates a balance in a way few other authors can obtain by making her characters relatable, strong willed, entertaining, humorous, fearful and yet still compassionate and well rounded. In other words, not typical. Not timid. Not hiding and surviving on a man’s coattails. Making their mark on life in the best way that they can and struggling on their own. She weaves these complex worlds that seem so confusing but at the same time she introduces them in a way that allows you to slowly step in. She takes care in her world building but does it slowly so as not to overwhelm the reader (and keep them from being bored with too much too fast or too many unnecessary details). It is an incredible gift. She gives just enough but not too much, all the while leaving little tidbits of information that you think she has forgotten about and only wrapping all of the pieces together when the time is right, usually when you least expect it.
Alexis’ story and world is not different. In Sin & Chocolate K.F. Breene introduces us to a world where the world of magical and non- magical live openly, side by side. Alexis is struggling to make ends meet while taking care of her two wards. She fights hard for everything she has but does not understand that her Ghost Whisper ability is unlike anything in the magical community. When a stranger nearly runs her over and begins stalking her, Alexis’ world is turned upside down. She does not respond to situations in the way most people do and that intrigues the stranger. Keiren cannot get Alexis and her mysteries out of his head and so the journey to crazy town begins.
I am so in love with these new characters, this new world and the mystery of Keiren’s family. I could not put this book down! I cannot wait to see what unfolds in the next installment! As usual K.F. Breene rocked it!
The start of another fantastic PNR series from K.F. Breene, set in a world of magic and non-magic users ruled by Valens the Demigod of San Francisco, where the magic ones are tested and measured on a scale to see how strong their power is and what type of magic they possess, level 5 being the highest human magic wielder power. Magic and non-magic users live separately, with the non-magic ones struggling to get by on a daily basis.
Alexis is a magic user, rated as a low class 2, although she knows she is much more powerful than that, she has the ability to see and talk to spirits and help those that are stuck here cross over. Her mother taught her to keep her magic quiet and on the low down, using it only when necessary. Since her mother died Alexis has lived in the same house she grew up in, in the non-magical quarter, struggling daily helping to raise her two wards Mordecai & Daisy. Mordecai is a wolf shifter who is ill, there’s a problem with his genes and got booted out of his pack and left to die. Daisy is a non-magic person, orphaned and brought up in the foster system, she is a survivor. The three are a team, a family, and there is nothing they wouldn’t do for each other.
Kieran is the son of Valens, a demigod himself. He literally runs into Alexis and can sense the power coming off of her. He has his own personal problem, his mother having died but being stuck in this world, and he is trying to find someone to help free her, and thinks Alexis may be the key. But Kieran can’t work out why he is incredibly attracted to her, she makes him lose control like no one else.
I loved this story line, it was a fabulous read, gripping and entertaining. Alexis is a fabulous heroine, sassy, fiery, snarky and her powers are brilliant, I was thoroughly hooked in whilst watching what Alexis was really capable of!! I love her two wards Mordecai & Daisy, they make a wonderful if dysfunctional family unit, one Alexis would do anything for.
Kieran and his Six are just so awesomely hot, dangerous and sexy and of course being a demigod is so completely out of anyone’s league and in the forbidden zone! Kieran’s love for his mother was totally endearing and makes you swoon that much harder for him.
Fabulous characters, great story line, funny and witty, some great one liners in there that will have you snorting with laughter!! I loved this new world setting and all the new magic and and am really looking forward to reading more about it – a brilliant start to this new series, its going to be a corker!! Highly recommended reading.
I love, love, LOVE this new book by the amazing Miss Breene! It was sexy as sin, fun as hell and just fantastic all around!
The characters are well written, Alexis is so awesome and her inner dialogue is hilarious. Alexis’s Ward’s are incredibly fun, smart and snarky and the delicious Demigod Kieran is oh my! He is gorgeous, alpha and so much more!
The storyline and world building is amazing and powerful. I can’t wait for the next book!!!
I’m so excited to be back in one of KF Breene’s magical worlds. Sin & Chocolate was so entertaining and a page turner.
The characters were awesome. Alexis was a strong, independent, but has no problem taking handouts LOL, sassy, sarcastic, blunt, hilarious woman. Her wards were a great addition and brought many comical conversations between them all. I really liked Mordecai and I’m hoping we get to see him become the shifter he should be. His situation broke my heart. Daisy had me laughing out loud so many times with her references to The Lord of the Rings and her cussing. I loved how close the three of them were.
Demigod Kieran is a descendant of Poseidon. He is in turmoil over his mother’s condition and needs Alexis to help him help her. He senses Alexis is so much more powerful than she lets on or even knows of herself. He stalks her after their first run-in and her reactions to him are pretty comical. He has the ability to create extreme lust in someone and Alexis does her best to withstand it. We do not get to see much of a relationship progress between them in this book. There is a lot of sexy talk and sexy feelings but it basically stops there.
I can’t wait to see how Alexis will progress in learning all her abilities. I think it will make for a fantastic story and have no doubt that it will be. One of the cool parts of this book was reading about characters and then later learning that they were actually ghosts. I’m excited to hopefully see Kieran and Alexis’ relationship move forward as well in the next book.
As always, the storyline was great. The writing was great. And the characters were fantastic!
This book was fantastic! A must read 😀
holy smokes what a beginning to a new series. absolutely loved it. loving the storyline. Alexis with her wards Mordecai and Daisy working together is unstoppable mixed in with Frank who has me giggling along with the demigod Kieran and his Six have me wanting to know what is going to happen next. A mystery needs to be solved and danger of the highest caliber is surrounding them…..what will happen next. can’t wait
K.F. Breene blows me away with her world-building genius! Sin&Chocolate is just the right amount of heartwarming, sensual and snarky, mashed together in another fantastic series starter by this amazing author. You won’t want to miss out on Alexis’ story!
K.F Breene has done it again, I feel like this series brings together all the amazing parts and styles of her previous amazing works (DDVN, The Darkness Series and The Warrior Chronicles). She brings together a wonderful world full of amazing and interesting characters that I cannot wait till get better acquainted with. Even the side characters draw me in and hopeful for side stories. The world building brings you in and doesn’t let go, you’re left wanting more, to know more, to explore every each of the world. K.F Breene brings together humor and lustful heat like they were always meant to be together. I love the switching between the main characters (our newly beloved heroine Alexis and our demigod Kieran) to see inside their head, hearing their internal monologs and I’m also hopeful of some side character chapter (The Six and the Wards)
The main reason I want the audio book is I’m not great as hearing and feeling tone and reflection when I read a book on my own. I’m more of a visual person and listening to an audio book opens my mind to see the story just like watching a TV Show or Movie but honestly I feel like it’s more because I get to use my own imagination. I probably will edit/add-on to my review once I’ve gotten my hands on the audio book.
Some of my favorite quotes – “Was he Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hard-On?” “Batshit and Tiaras” “Mother-Trucker Biscuit Fucker” – OH KF BREENE WHERE DO YOU FIND SUCH WONDERFUL WORDS.
I can’t wait for the next one in this series and to see what happens next with Lexi and her wards, and Kieran and his Six.
