A secret baby.A marriage of convenience.Six years of lies unraveling.(A best friends-to-lovers, second chance romance)When Cara moves home to Maine, she plans to open a tea shop, raise her four-year-old daughter, and keep the promise she made after losing her husband: no romance. Sure, she’ll run into her former best friend–and one-time lover, Roan–but she’s no longer the silly girl who flung … no longer the silly girl who flung herself at him that night after college graduation, only to be told the next morning it was a big mistake.
Roan has a hard time trusting anyone since his now ex-wife embezzled from him. So, when Cara, the woman who stole his heart in college, moves back to Crescent Cove, he’s determined to keep things platonic. He ruined their friendship when he made a play for her six years ago, and he won’t make the same mistake again.
But Cara’s in-laws sue for custody of her daughter. To help Cara win the case, Roan offers a marriage of convenience. Close quarters during their tropical paradise honeymoon in Costa Rica ignites the heat they once shared, making it hard to remain just friends.
Will Cara remain true to her vow to her deceased husband or will she take a second chance on love?

Another wonderful book from Marlie May! A marriage of convenience between old flames turns into something so much more. Lustful longing, troubled pasts, joyful laughs, and the promise of a second chance at a happy ever after draw you into this luscious story toward a truly satisfying conclusion. The final scene is simply perfection. I can honestly say Crescent Cove is now my favorite fictional town to visit!
Cara always thought lots of her friend and fellow classmate Roan just as he did of her. There were more feelings for each other, but the stars never seemed to come together when they were both single. Then one night, they did align. And of what a night! Fast forward to the next morning and both were told by their former boy/girl friends that they didn’t want to have anything to do with each other. Of course, we find out later that wasn’t exactly what happened. Cara moves and marries her former boyfriend Jason, have a child together (or is it his?), he dies and she moves back home. Roan in the meantime married his college sweetheart Lainie, which on his part was a mistake as she is not an honest person (want to find out what she did? Read the book!) Time passes and then the stars seem to come together again, but Jason’s parents (who still live in California and think they run Cara’s life from afar) try to be that interfering grandparent. Will they succeed? Will Cara and Roan find the answers to their questions about each other and what actually happened the day after their night together in college? The only way to find out is to read this interesting story.

A compelling story of pain and lost love but also of new beginnings.

When Cara found out she was pregnant she did not know which of the two men in her life was the father. When the paternity test came back she married the father of her child or so she thought. Five years later she was a widow and returned to her hometown ready to start a new life and begin a new career. This was a story filled with lies and untruths, a love buried in the past and a new hope for the future. The story had hidden twists that I never expected and the chance to mend the pain of the past. An interesting and well written story that kept me interested till the last page.

Roan and Cara were best friends growing up. One night at the end senior year in college was magical. They next day it all blew up and they lost touch. 6 years later Cara moves back home with her daughter.
This is the story of their second chance, to get together. Can they overcome their past and their present and become even a family or will they each continue on the path of hurt, and loneliness?

Roan and Cara were best friends since they were in grade school but that change the night of their college graduation. Now six years later Cara’s back home a widow with a four year old little girl. Can they get back what they once had? I loved this book.
Have you ever read about a character that you just can’t stand, well thank goodness, this one was already dead at the start of this book, other wise I may have jumped into the story myself and strangled him.
This book was so beautifully written with so much emotions that it broke my heart at times, but it was also touching and filled with so much longing.
They both have been lied to for years by the people they thought loved them, only to find out that years later what happened.
Years spent apart did not lessen the love that they had for each other.
Have your tissue, because this is a tear jerker…..

SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE is the second book in the Crescent Bay series. Though they will each stand alone, I highly recommend reading them both and in the order of release.
For Roan, Cara was “the one that got away” and his best friend since childhood. Cara felt the same way. Six years after their one night together in college, they each think they are being so noble in not revealing their own true feelings but offering only their friendship.
The road to their happily ever after is not easy, but it is so full of laughter and all of the feelings that it is the just the kind of wonderful five crown (star) story that I love to read. While I hate the act, as a literary tool I especially loved the twisted and mean hook for how they were brought back together.
Cara’s daughter, Arie is a little sweetheart and it is just heartbreaking that she is being used as a pawn in the game of the villains. I won’t say more since I don’t want to give spoilers, but trust me it’s life-altering!
So far there are only two in this series. Please, dear Lord in heaven, let there be more! On the other hand, we will be returning to Crescent Bay for a Suspense Romance series and the first book releases soon.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprouts, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Roan and Cara grew up together and always had a special bond. When they went away to college Cara thought that the night they spent together was special only to be told the next day it was a mistake sending her into the arms of another Jason whom she later married. Years have passed and Jason is no longer in the picture. Cara has moved home to be close to her father and Jason’s parents are suing Cara for custody of their grand child because Cara is irresponsible. But that’s not all of the drama in this book because there are a few surprises that will bring a few people to their knees in the end!

Simply Irresistible by Marlie May is a 2nd chance, childhood friends to lovers romance. It was a simply wonderful story. 5-Star all the way.
Cara and Roan grew up together, met in kindergarten & seemed destined to be together. One night just out of college changed everything. Misunderstanding drove Cara and Roan apart. Cara married the 3rd person in their trio, Jason & moved to California. Now it is six years later, the middle of winter in Maine, and Cara has returned she is now a widow with a 5 yr old daughter, Arie, Jason having recently died of cancer.
There were so many feels for this pair on their journey to their HEA, so many chances to learn and grow. Roan was a sweet guy, burned by his ex and is finding it hard to trust. Cara promised Jason she’d honor his memory and not seek another romance. But Roan is there and soon old flames get rekindled.
When Jason’s wealthy parents threaten to take Arie away from Cara, Roan proposes a marriage of convenience. Doesn’t take long for a passion to inflame between these two and a marriage of convenience isn’t really what either of them want. Misunderstandings from the past need to be forgiven and there’s some angst along the way. (Incidentally I don’t think I have ever disliked a villain more than the one in this book, even though the identity of that villain is a little bit cliche. I don’t really want to say more because I don’t like to provide spoilers in my reviews. But trust me the villain is a lowlife scumbag.)
Told an alternating first-person point of view, Simply Irresistible is a great story worth the read.
When is Sam’s story?

A wonderful and enjoyable well written second chance romance. With misunderstandings, trust issues, drama, lies, crazy widowed ex inlaws, and a marriage of convience makes for a fast paced edge of my seat addicting entertaining romance. The characters were likeable, relateable and had crazy hot chemistry. I voluntarily reviewed this must read ARC.
