This is Baldacci at his finest. The second in the Sean King and Michelle Maxwell series does not disappoint. It has twists and turns galore, takes you down one dry hole after another until an exciting conclusion drains your emotions. The characters of King and Maxwell are wonderfully drawn in this tale, as before, but fleshed out better this time …
awesome
Loved this book. It was such a surprise to learn about 1/3 of the way through the book that I would be extremely interested other than it was a David book.
I have a document stating that my ancestors were one of the early owners of the Porto Bello property. I did not know that the book was about Porto Bello when I started reading it. I was just …
I did not see ‘this’ coming, which is exactly the way I like it. David Baldacci is always a joy to read.

Very good, if not somewhat confusing read. And very “edge-of-your-seat” in parts!
I enjoyed this installment of the Michelle and Sean story, but there were parts that were VERY confusing. At least for me. I am NOT a numbers person and most of those parts of the book just went WAY over my head! I just don’t have a “numbers” …
This is #3 in a series, and you definitely have had to have read the previous books to understand what is going on with Michelle. I have not been reading them in order, but now only have one more to go.
The technicality of quantum physics, mathematics and computers still stumps me and an author that can even begin to comprehend these subjects …
It’s been a few years since I read this book, but you can’t go wrong with Baldacchi. He’s a fantastic writer.
Love the characters in this series.
David Baldacci is an excellent writer! I know if he wrote it….I will enjoy it! His writing has rich characters with terrific plot development. You will love this book!
Balducci is by far my favorite author and I read at least 3 books a week! Everything he has ever written is worth buying!
Might be his best book
Enjoyed this book even more than the previous one in the series. Once I realized this series is more of a mystery/whodunit versus an action thriller, I settled in and just kept reading. Great story with a deeper look into Michelle Maxwell’s personality/childhood/background. I really liked that aspect.
One thing that came to me after finishing the …
I’ve read all the books about these characters. Great reads
Love all of David’s books! Just be sure you read series together and in the right order!!!
Fast paced. Couldn’t put it down!
Great read ,as usual of D.B. books.
Baldacci at his best.
I enjoy the author, His books keep you wondering what is going to happen next.
Somehow this book is just not smooth. I am used to Baldacci’s being seamless and this one struggles. Good story, characters not my favorites, but it seems forced. The interaction between Maxwell and King is off, unrealistic.
If I wasn’t used to his books being so good, I would probably have thought this one was wonderful.
Not a bad read, but …
Another great author, aways waiting for the release of another great book, can’t get enough.
