[[ Reprint. This novella was originally published in the Doms of Dark Haven anthology]] With an empty nest and divorce in hand, Rona decides it’s time to explore the fantasies that nourished her through a long, tedious marriage to a man whose idea of outrageous sex was leaving the lights on. At the top of her fantasy list is touring Dark Haven, the BDSM club, but she isn’t prepared for the … the effect of a powerful Dom. When Master Simon takes control and introduces her to toys and sensations she’s never felt before, she realizes he could fulfil every fantasy on her list all by himself. But she’s vowed to never get trapped in a relationship again.
One of the most popular Doms in Dark Haven, Master Simon has had his fill of eager, shallow, young subs. Rona is older, intelligent, independent…and sweetly submissive. After an evening of intense pleasure and despite her obvious attraction, she refuses to see him again. He needs a way to change her mind. She’s not the first sub he’s taken on a journey of exploration, but he’s beginning to think she might be the last.

Yes, this book might have been a novella, but it has all the richness and action of a full-fledged novel. THAT was definitely a surprise to me, but a much-needed one with everything I was reading. It was even better than Master of the Mountain, its predecessor. In that book’s review, I was concerned about the topics and expositional detail to begin to blur with other books from other series by Ms. Sinclair, a much-likely scenario like I have seen in those exact same others from other series. I am pleased to say that I was wrong in my expectations. This little novella is definitely worth the purchase, and I encourage you to do the same.
In this tale, we find a recently divorced Rona looking for adventure as well as checking on goals on her bucket list. One of them was not to attach herself to just one man or a relationship that might entrap her just like her incredibly boring, too vanilla marriage to her ex. It just might take someone of Simon’s strength of character to bust down those newly written goals to make her realize that quantity is hardly quality.
Great character development and exposition. Continued excellent continuity and world-building. I knew exactly what Rona and Simon looked like. I was pleased to find characters from this novella’s predecessor present at the Christmas party at the end of this tale. This book had enough draw for me to want to reread it at least two more time. It will definitely be one I’ll grab for when I want a guaranteed excellent read when I’m feeling too intense to read books of unknown quality and suspense. This is a safe rescue read for sure!

Thank you, Liz K, a reviewer on Amazon!
I read all of her books. They feel like you’ve known everyone forever
I loved Simon and Rona. I liked that Rona was brave enough to try to find what she wanted after her divorce and that lead her to meet Simon. The chemistry between Simon and Rona was great and I am glad that he was able to get her to acknowledge she wanted to be with him.
