Meghan MacTire and Sheriff Peter Jorgenson plan to spend the rest of their lives together and what better time to start their forever ever after that Christmas? But both of them have dark secrets that has come back to haunt them and threaten their future together.
This loup garou romance is a heartwarming and suspenseful holiday story that puts spirit in the readers’ hearts! Meghan and Peter are strong, wonderful, characters that readers can relate to and their chemistry definitely says that they belong together. The relationship, while they have been courting for a while, has kind of stalled as they both have been holding back some secrets from the past and in this case those secrets have literally come back to put a kink in their moving forward. There is lots of emotional turbulence flowing from the pages but there is also lots of holiday spirit as Silver Town gears up for the holidays and which really tugs at the heartstrings when they all do their part to the past to rest.
The story is fast paced and full of thrilling suspense as danger and opposition shows its face right before a critical moment of Meghan and Peter’s relationship putting Meghan in the cross hairs of an ex and a dangerous enemy and even a ghost. This story has it all and readers’ definitely want to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate to warm the rest of their bodies they way this enjoyable and exceedingly entertaining story warms the heart and spirit.
Another enjoyable read by Terry Spear at Christmas time. Christmas was spelled out in so many ways, that I am grabbing a couple of the entertainment and drink ideas 🙂 If you are a reader of Terry Spear and this wonderful series than you know Meghan was a triplet, the only sis still single. This is her and Peters story (Sheriff) Meghans secret is before her move to Silver Town and Peters is well known with in Silver Town but not by Meghan. This is a story of relationships between couples, families, and towns all centered at Christmas time enhanced with suspense and mystery. Shifters, ghosts, suspense, humor and a little mystery – all here at Silver Town,
Thank you Terry Spear, Sourcebooks Casablanca and Net Galley for the arc, providing me with enjoyment! All thoughts and opinions are my own and were unsolicited.
Silver Town is gearing up for Christmas as is the inn that Meghan MacTire owns with her sisters. Meghan has been dating local sheriff, Peter Jorgenson for over a year. As gray wolves, they want to mate but both have secrets from their past that they have to share first. Meghan also sees ghosts. When someone from Meghan’s past shows up in town and they learn a secret from some ghosts in the mine, it turns out that they’re related.
I absolutely love Terry’s books and this one was no exception. The Silver Town wolves are a great family and I really enjoy the small town camaraderie the wolves all show. This book hooked me from the beginning keeping me entranced until the end as I read it in one sitting. Full of characters you love and some you don’t, you’ll get to know them and feel as if you’re right there with them. I was captivated and enjoyed the relationship between Meghan and Peter as well as that of the triplet sisters. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order. I also recommend all of Terry’s other series. You won’t be disappointed.
Heart racing, emotionally thrilling and engaging adventure filled with danger, secrets, exciting charters and passion…. was a great read from beginning to end and the holiday twist just added the heartwarming feel of all they have to overcome. Great reading
This is the 9th book in this series and I would absolutely read the previous books before reading this one. Otherwise you may be confused about things that are said. Meghan and Peter plan to spend the rest of their lives together and the holidays seem like the perfect time to start their forever together. But they both have secrets and those secrets are now coming out, and are threatening their happy ending.
This was a cute and sweet paranormal with the suspense thrown in that I love. Meghan and Peter are perfect for each other and have that chemistry that I love. There was plenty of suspense and a few things that I really wasn’t expecting. My only drawback was that it starts off slow and I had a hard time getting into at first. But once I got further in, it was much better and sucked me to the end. If you have enjoyed this author’s previous books in this series, then you will like this one as well.
I loved the third MacTire sisters story (they are all amazing). Terry never does wrong with her stories, I want more.
Silver Town Wolf #9, I love this series and I love the MacTire sisters this one was good, not my favorite but not horrible either. It had plenty of intrigue, a little bit of angst, just enough Holiday spirit and lots of romance. Meghan can see and communicate with ghosts the resident ghost at the inn has become extra emotional this holiday season. She misses her beau and asks Meghan if she can look into finding him, as both were shifter there is a good chance he might still be alive. Meghan and the sheriff, Peter, have been dating for about a year and with a mating inevitably in their future they both decide to come clean about secrets they have been keeping. Unfortunately Meghan’s past comes out before she gets the chance to tell Peter when her ex-boyfriend shows up out of the blue with news. Peter takes it in stride because his secret is just as big. When Meghan’s secret somehow connects to the inn’s ghost, the town’s biggest tragedy and Peter’s past everything seems almost to much to handle especially since Peter puts Meghan and her sisters under 24/7 protection.
Overall it was a good read. There was a bit more sex in it than I typically like these days, but that’s me. The holiday aspect of the book was nice with the full victorian costume caroling, the gingerbread house competition, and the snow sculpture competition and the pack Christmas party and gift exchange. I like Terry Spear’s writing the intrigue is nicely done with how everything ties together and a very good ending.
3.5 stars–HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS is the ninth instalment in Terry Spear’s contemporary, adult SILVER TOWN WOLF / Heart of the Wolf paranormal romance series focusing on the wolf shifters of Silver Town. This is wolf shifters Silver Town hotel co-owner Meghan MacTire, and Sheriff Peter Jorgenson’s story line. HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Meghan and Peter) HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS follows the building relationship between Silver Town hotel co-owner Meghan MacTire, and Sheriff Peter Jorgenson. As the Christmas holidays approach, Meghan MacTire is hoping her long-time beau Sheriff Peter Jorgenson will ask her to mate but when an ex-boyfriend demands a second chance, Meghan gets suspicious considering said ex-boyfriend knows Meghan’s secret, a secret our heroine is desperate to keep buried.
Meanwhile, Meghan and her sisters are able to see and speak to the spirits who have yet to move on, and in this the Silver Town hotel resident ghost Chrissy, has some surprising information for our story line heroine. Hoping to help Chrissy cross-over, Meghan goes in search of Chrissy’s beloved, a man whose own death brings up too many memories from the past. As Peter struggles to move beyond his own demons, his mating with Meghan is put on hold when Peter’s former love demands retribution for sins of the past.
HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS is a story of family, betrayal, vengeance and love. There is an inordinate amount of telling not showing, and in this the redundancy tends to overwhelm. Repetition of events slows down the story line build up, as the reader is subjected to numerous replays of story line development, plot points and information. The premise is entertaining; the romance is gradual and passionate; the characters are numerous, colorful and energetic including several ghosts who have yet to move on.
