Love can be complicated, but in the end it’s all worth it. Isn’t it? Silver Player is the story of two enemies. Roxanne owns her dream, a book shop in the sleepy town of Blue Ridge. Billy runs a pub right across the street from her bookstore. Roxie gets on Billy’s last nerve always complaining about the noise from his pub. But when they discover they’re connected by blood, they attempt to bury the hatchet and become friends. Billy thinks Roxie is gorgeous. And Roxie may be irritated by Billy, but she thinks he’s hot… With the teasing and misunderstandings that happen between them, Silver Player makes for a wild ride!
This is such a multi-faceted story. Silver Player is quite realistic. You’re dealing with a teen who has just lost her mother, her aunt who is grieving her sister and learning how to raise her neice, and a man in his 40s who is now a father. Great story and I may have shed a tear a time or two. I did get a little irritated with how Roxie could be so negative in regards to Billy and what she thought about his reputation. I loved how dedicated Billy was to his daughter, Sadie. This was a fantastic story! 4.5 stars
Billy Harrington is the PLAYER of Blue Ridge, always on the hunt for a beautiful lady and a good time. He reminds me of Rob Lowe in St. Elmo’s Fire. He seemed to have it all including a good time always within reach. Of course, nothing is at it seems down deep and so many emotions are running through him that do not match his laid back, good time boy attitude.
Roxie is the quiet, book nerd. She lived in the shadows of her vibrant sister, Theresa (Trixie). She yearned to be the focus of Billy’s attention but she felt that he would never set his sights on someone as plain as her.
Tragedy strikes and these two are thrown together in a most unusual way. Can these two ever be able to put down the boxing gloves and call a truce, especially when a life depends on it?
I have never related so much to a character as I did with Roxie. She is my new favorite heroine!!

Arc, for an honest review.
I couldn’t put this down. Billy and Roxanne had so much to give to each other but with past “reputations”, at first Roxanne couldn’t see past them in the beginning. Those reputations weren’t as bad as people made them out to be. Once you’re labeled, it’s hard to break free from that label.
Sadie loses her mother, her home, and school all at once. She then gains a father she’d never met and her life changes. Billy Harrington, oh honey. All the feels, once the feels start flowing.
Roxanne doesn’t trust easily. And just like Sadie, they mourn the loss of Roxanne’s sister.
This was an incredible story. There are different relationships going on in this story. A little healing. Everything in between. I seriously fell in love with this man…
And let me just say, that freaking cover!! It screams that man ALL over it. So good!
I can’t wait for the next Harrington in this series.
5 Star Review Silver Player (The Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge #2) by L.B.Dunbar
The Harrington’s of Blue Ridge are a fascinating family. I freely admit that going in I wasn’t too keen on William “Billy” Harrington, in fact I wasn’t sure I was going to like him at all, unlike his brother Giant Harrington.
After his divorce, Billy went off the rails, having dozens of one night stands and meaningless flings. It seems that is all about to catch up with him.
Suddenly finding out that he is a father to teenage Sadie is a shock he never saw coming; Roxanne is his enemy and to complicate matters even further, his daughter’s aunt. It also doesn’t help that attraction lied beneath the surface of the antagonistic relationship between Billy and Roxanne.
It was enjoyable to read as Billy and Roxanne come to terms with what life has thrown them. This is a steamy book which was also emotional and heartwarming. Although I was frustrated at times by both Billy and Roxanne and wanted to smack sense into both of them.
L B Dunbar turned my initial feelings for Billy around and I soon came to see that there was so much more to him.
Can Billy, Roxanne and Sadie become the family that they all so desperately need and deserve?

Silver Player – WOW. Just WOW. Having recently joined the L.B. Dunbar world, this book holds up its end with my expectations. An over 40+ story, it had it all- the feel good, the angst, the mood swinging confusion that one feels in the chaos of falling in love at any age. There were times I felt such sadness for how each main character’s heart ached. That is the beauty, I have found, in L.B.’s work. While sitting on your couch reading, you are truly able to feel what the characters are going through – the highs, the lows, the confusion, the curiosity of what you hope is to come. It is a deep visceral feeling associated with this type of writing. Then at certain parts, all I could do was smile through the happiness the characters felt. Definitely worth the wait and I look forward to reading more about these Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge. This voluntarily reviewed this as an arc.
Holy wow! The sexual tension between these two could have been cut with a knife! And Sadie…I could see my 16 year old self being her bestie! She had a plate full of bad stuff and only wanted to bring Billy and Roxie together. All three of these characters had hearts of gold and that’s why they worked so well together! Well done LB Dunbar, I highly recommend this book!
I enjoy a well written story and this definitely is one! The protagonist characters are mature, which I love, but frequently exhibit self image and doubt found in any age. Ms Dunbar expertly weaves a story of a community and family that leaves you wanting more. I also enjoyed the cameos of some previous Dunbar characters popping up in the story!
I have to say reading a book about people over forty always makes me smile it’s real life.
And once again L.B is at her best with the Harrington clan got to love the silver fox & foxes.
This is Billy Harringtons story the player well so we are lead to believe, but all Billy want’s Is to fit in he has his hang ups just like everybody else, but somethings you don’t share according to billy and thats a lot believe me.
Billy is a business man he runs his own bar brews his own beer and his damn good at it to.
But what happens when a sixteen year old walks into his bar and announces that he is her dad words he never thought he would hear.
Sadie has just lost her mum she come to live with her aunt Roxanne Mcallister the owner of a bookstore and Billy’s enemy they have a love hate relationship.
The sparks that fly between Billy and Roxanne is so great the banter they have will give you whip lash and I swear you will love it.
Billy and Roxie take us on a rollercoaster ride will they get their HEA will it all work out you will have to read it find out.
And believe me a book you really need to read.
Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed this book! L.B. Dunbar’s over 40 heroes are totally swoony!! I love these stories so much because they show that true and passionate love is out there no matter what your age, you just have to be lucky enough to find it. Of course, it may be hiding in the hands of your closest nemesis, so it’s important not to discount anyone. When Billy Harrington, the player, crosses paths with Roxanne McAllister, she is just that for Billy, or so he thinks. Turns out they have some important things in common, namely Roxanne’s niece Sadie. Love all of that part of the story to as it is so important to show the true character of our player. Roxie and Billy are so drawn to each other even though they bicker and butt heads more than anything, that eventually their attraction finally wins out. Their interactions are comical at times and frustrating at others and still at other times, quite sexy. It is obvious they belong together even if they can’t seem to get out of their own way.
I do love their journey, despite being difficult at times and riddled with misunderstandings, it is emotionally charged and just really special, and Sadie’s feelings and future are always considered.
Can’t wait for the next book in this series!!
I am thankful that L.B. Dunbar continues to write Silver Fox and Silver Vixen stories. My heart starts pounding when her books appear on my Kindle and I drop everything to start reading. I always read slowly so I can savor every word, not wanting the book to end. I feel a sense of closeness with the characters which makes me want to become part of the story so I can share their happiness and pain with them.
Her latest book “Silver Player” features Billy and Roxanne, a sexy silver couple who are like oil and water. Their witty banter turned into something more when they realized they had someone very special in common: her niece and his daughter, Sadie. Their romance grabbed my heart and pulled me into their lives and I was entranced by the glances, smiles, and laughter they shared as their emotions became too strong to ignore. Like a volcano ready to erupt, Billy was at the end of his rope when it came to Roxie’s hot and cold behavior. Sometimes she hated him and gave him the death glare, but on a really good day she caressed his cheek, just to see if it was soft. Roxie had a crush on Billy when she was in high school, and now that they were spending time together, she couldn’t resist his smoldering eyes, sexy body and Southern charm. They needed to work together to give Sadie a loving and happy life, but their verbal sparring kept getting in the way. Can they put all that aside and allow love to bring them together as a family?
AMAZING! Silver Foxes Extraordinaire!! No one writes romance over 40 like L B Dunbar!
Billy Harrington who seems to most to be the town “player/man whore” gets surprisingly news. Roxie the book store owner located across from the Blue Ridge Micro Brewery must navigate being a single mom when her sister dies in an accident. Can Sadie, her niece bridge the gap between Billy and Roxie when she discovers Billy is her Dad?
Enemies to lovers meet Roxie and Billy! The story grabs you from page one and the pages seemingly turn themselves. Sadie draws them together but can Roxie trust Billy’s actions or is he playing her?

I received an arc copy of this book for an honest review! Honestly this book deserves 10 Stars!
Another great silver fox man in Billy Harrington, the “disappointment” in the family, at least that’s what he thinks! So when the young girl who walks into his bar looking for him, turns out to be someone he never knew about, well let’s just say, he’s shocked and has no clue what to do.
When his book store pain neighbor comes in yelling what did he do to her niece. Just what he needs on top of this, Roxie yelling and attached to this girl.
Read along and fall in love with Billy & Roxie’s story! You will love it! 5 silver stars for this one!
