Charlie Harrington has always been the good one.Loyal to his town as the mayor. Loyal to his family as the youngest son.So there comes a time when every good man needs to be a little bad.
Mayor McSteamy Charlie Harrington steps out of the Town Hall Of Blue ridge in his sharp Suit and takes my vote!
Harrington brothers are a sexy bunch of handsome siblings. Mayor is Uptight. Rigid. Goody Two-shoes Charlie. but don’t let it fool you, it’s an image. He’s got a butt slapping, hair pulling, hand tying, kinky side to him that will leave you panting for more…
“He’s everything I’ve never had and should not desire. Smooth on the outside, he’s domineering on the inside, and it’s a turn-on when it should be a warning.”
When his bedroom sees an unexpected intruder – Jan”Nessa” who’s caught red handed, or should we say finger stuck In his grandmother’s ring, the fire starts smoldering in their hearts.
They’re both single parents and know a thing or two about being an arm candy to ambitious spouses.
Lonely hearts connect at the metal fence and continue their Hard wok in the office cough* desk * cough. and all over the house.
They’re very persistent and conscientious workers you see..*wink wink*
“One last time and then we stop. However, I can’t stop. I can’t shut off the way my body craves her or the way my heart bleeds into the mix.”
I loved the up righteousness and compassion of Charlie and fiery and relentless spirit of Janessa Cruz
Together they were unstoppable. Riled up by their passion, they couldn’t keep their hands to themselves and walk away. This is tough in a small town full of gossiping ladies and scandalised population
Anyway, whoever said Love was easy!
It’s in the same vein as earlier books, mature love story which is such a refreshing change from run of the mill stories floating around. I think LB is on to something

Smoldering, feel good small town story was totally unputdownable.
This is book 3 in the Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge Series. In this installment we get brother Charlie’s story. He’s the straight arrow mayor of a small town in Georgia and when he meets Janessa, it’s insta attraction, sparks fly chemistry. A number of situations that make their story a little edgy and intriguing.
I thoroughly enjoyed the build up and the banter between these 2 characters.
The secondary characters added to the entertainment and likability of this story.
How their story evolved made it worth reading.

I reeeeeeeeeally loved the vibe of this book. It was just delectable! LoL
This is a book that will grab and hold your attention. Everything about the book is relatable and realistic. It is heartwarming and fun with sprinkles of #feels that might gut-punch you but it is all wrapped in love and hope. It was sexy and passionate and the chemistry among everyone was perfectly written! It’s a second chance for both Charlie and Janessa to have a future with a partner beside them for the good and the bad and everything in between! This story was a joy to get lost in. I just have no idea what I ever did before I discovered this woman’s words!

Charlie Harrington is the mayor of his town, and is always the one to do the right thing. He’s a local, single father of a precocious 10 year old daughter named Lucy, and is the youngest of the Harrington brothers. He’s always the good guy – clean cut and mostly scandal free.
Janessa, or Jan, is new in town after a recent split from her celebrity baseball star husband, and living with her parents (who work for Charlie) in Charlie’s carriage house. She’s trying to lay low, and since she walked away from her marriage with nothing other than her daughter, she’s in need of a job quickly.
He comes home one day to find Jan in his bedroom with his grandmother’s ring on – he accuses her of stealing it, she fights back, and the sparks start to fly. She leaves in a hurry, and he doesn’t see her again until their daughter’s have a play date, and again when she applies for a position in for the City as a parks manager. Their “chance” encounters keep them intrigued, and their daughter’s friendship has them connected and in each other’s lives even when they’re trying to avoid each other.
The two manage their attraction, their daughters, their ex-spouses (who are quite hateful), and their extended families in this fantastic read. The one thing I really appreciate about LB Dunbar’s books other than the age of the characters, is the complexities that occur when dealing with older adults who are tied to their communities, their families, and their past. As always, this one has a ton of steam, some heartbreaking moments, and a happy ending for all.

So, so, so, so good! I just love her. I really do.
1. I am honored that I get this chance to read her stories before they get released, Thank You.
2. I love the titles to every to every chapter of every single one of her stories.
Now about the book, I’ve waited for Charlie. I knew I was going to love that man. Oh girl, the chemistry between him and Janessa! ( love the name btw ) Instant attraction, not instant love. Both of their exes made them very cautious about each other, both have trust issues.
their daughters Lucy and Vega, adorable. I don’t want to get into it too much with the story line because I don’t to ruin it.
I just have one question, Can I lick him?

This one was a bit different .. These silver foxes are amazing and the fact they are all brothers makes it even better. This is Charlie’s story.. As the mayor of Blue Ridge he has to uphold a standard in the public eye.. When his Ex tarnishes that standard he does all he can to gain back the Good Guy image.
Janessa has come to live with her parents and get away from the public eye of her life from her ex husband. All she wants to do is lie low and raise her daughter .. When she meets Charlie it is under odd circumstances and the attraction is instant.
These two can’t keep their hands off each other but have to be very discreet as they both need to hold up an image and they are both raising little girls on their own. Lucy and Vera are the cutest 10 yr old girls and have their own plans of playing matchmaker.
In the end will all the issues with the exes bring them closer or tear them apart.
This one was definitely on the hotter scale and still had a great story line. We do get alittle more of a glimpse at the bad boy James Harrington.. His story is gonna be epic!

Overall Grade:
Oh boy. I have been waiting for the words to write this article. When I picked up L.B. Dunbar’s Silver Mayor, I had no idea what a treat I’d be in for. I mean, I had a feeling as I had loved Silver Brewer (Giant’s story) and Silver Player (Billy’s romance). Dunbar has this way of creating compelling silver foxes whose life trajectories feel very similar to my own 40-ish something existence. What I didn’t realize was that she was saving some of her best for last.
Silver Mayor offers the story of Charlie Harrington, an attorney and mayor of Blue Ridge, Georgia. Other than a horrific divorce, Charlie Harrington has lived his life by the rules. As a single dad and the mayor of a town, he has carefully curated his choices to both protect his daughter and his town. Then, Janessa Cruz comes to Blue Ridge, and the careful plodding of Charlie’s life becomes upended. The chemistry between these two sizzles from the start, and this creates moments where Charlie and Janessa simply cannot contain their chemistry. However, as their pasts seek to interrupt their lives, their burgeoning coupledom becomes threatened. And this…this causes Charlie and Janessa to almost lose control of themselves and their potential future together.
When I picked up Silver Mayor, I started reading it while reading another book. I do this often because I love variety. My intention was to read a couple of chapters of this story and switch to the other. What ended up happening was a binge-read of Dunbar’s story. I couldn’t put this romance down for so many reasons, so here goes:
*Charlie Harrington is dirty. Honestly, he’s dirtier than Giant and Billy combined by my estimation. And I loved it, not because I love dirty romance (although I do). I loved it because Dunbar takes this rule-following, worries about everyone’s opinion man and crafts him to be a dirty-talking alpha-male in the bedroom. Charlie is a man in control at all times. With Janessa Cruz, though, he cannot stop himself from taking her anywhere at any time. This loss of control is exciting from a romance reader’s perspective because anytime a controlled hero or heroine loses control due to passion it makes for these fiery reads. And this is definitely the case with Silver Mayor. Charlie’s evolution to a man who lives his passion makes this story an exciting one.
*Janessa Cruz is any woman who has been spurned by her husband for his own selfish desires and finds herself without a definitive plan for the future. Through Janessa’s characterization, Dunbar throws messages about autonomy and agency into her romance. Janessa exposes Dunbar’s readers to discussions about power and authority in relationships, the plight of women to be given a voice, and the fight of single mothers to protect and provide for their children. While Charlie acts as, to a certain degree, the levity of this story, Janessa is its gravity. As she struggles to create a new life for herself and her child, she must navigate an attraction grounded in unbridled passion. Her journey becomes the complication of this romance, and Dunbar deftly maneuvers her through it in a way that compels the reader further into the story. One of the reasons I couldn’t put Silver Mayor down is Janessa’s story. It would be easy for Dunbar to partner them together, “saving” Janessa from the trials of her life. However, Dunbar doesn’t take that easy route. Instead, she establishes moments where Janessa gains her autonomy and stands in it for herself and her daughter. Charlie never saves her; instead, Janessa’s agency lies within herself.
*Lastly, one of my other favorite parts of Silver Mayor is its inclusion of the extended Harrington clan. Not only do we harken back to her Sexy Silver Foxes books of Second Chance and Wine&Dine, she reminds us why we love the Harringtons from Silver Brewer and Silver Player. Billy Harrington is his typical playful self in this book, and it connects us over and over again to Dunbar’s universe of characters. These voices lend some mirth to Charlie and Janessa’s story, but, more importantly, they also offer them wisdom. As these two struggle, the extended cast of Dunbar’s characters assists her hero and heroine in their journey towards each other. They also tease us for future stories. Personally, I can’t wait for the next book in her The Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge, Silver Biker, as I know James’s story will be the most impactful (I think) of the series. We meet him a bit more in Charlie’s story, as a keen set up for Dunbar’s last book. From a writing perspective, Dunbar’s ability to juggle her characters is part of the reasons we keep reading her books.
I’ve said this before in other reviews. I am a HUGE fan of L.B. Dunbar’s for a few reasons. For one, she writes characters that I personally relate with. Their challenges and mindsets mimic some of my own, and as a reader, I love to “find” myself represented in someone’s books. Secondly, there is an ease to Dunbar’s writing, so that reading her books urges you forward. Every book she writes, I typically read in one sitting because the pacing and story pull you through it. Lastly, L.B. Dunbar’s characters feel like real people with real-world problems. We find pieces of ourselves in characters such as Charlie and Janessa. Even if our experiences aren’t exactly the same, we are able to connect with their challenges to live with our passion, challenging social rules, OR having to find a new path for ourselves when those societal rules want to imprison us. That is the essence of Dunbar’s Silver Mayor. If you love a single-dad, dirty-talking, “good guy” mayor and an intelligent, insightful, headstrong woman, then you absolutely want to read L.B. Dunbar’s newest book.

These Harrington brothers just keep getting better & better! Charlie is the third brother in this series and after reading each I’ve fallen more in love with whatever brother I’ve just read about! LOL The books in this series are amazing. You can read them as a stand alone but I promise you’ll want to read all of them! OMG! Mayor Charlie is WOW! He’s something else…definitely not the goodie two shoes people think he is 😉 He is a single Dad and so in love with his daughter. He meets Janessa in a very interesting way and sparks fly right from the start. Janessa is also a single Mom and her daughter & Charlie’s are friends. The girls are the sweetest too. Charlie & Janessa have a very steamy secret relationship… but how long can that go on before they’re found out or they come clean to one another about how they really feel. Just read it you’ll love it! L.B. Is the queen of Silver Foxes!

Mayor Mcsteamy indeed. I can’t get enough of these Harrington brothers.
Scandal and politics go hand in hand. Just like scandal and sports. Will Charlie ever get it right? Or will he strike out?
Janessa wants more out of life. Not just for her but for her daughter too. Is she too jaded on life or will she hit this one out of the park?

I love, and I mean LOVE, a L.B. Dunbar book! Charlie’s story has been one I’ve been wanting to read since we met him in the other books, and it was absolutely amazing!!
Charlie & Nessa had so much chemistry and with life constantly throwing them together there was no way they could resist each other. These two had me turning the pages and I didn’t want to stop reading until I saw how these two got their HEA.
This was such an amazing book! Five stars for sure!!!

Silver Mayor by L.B. Dunbar will take you to an inspiring, heartfelt and sinful journey of two imperfect people who are scarred but not beaten by the battle called life.
Janessa Cruz has moved in with her parents in Blue Ridge with her girl Vega after a messy divorce with her celebrity athlete husband Richard. She is looking for a new beginning and doing something meaningful in this new phase of her life. Charlie Harrington aka her parents’ employer aka Mayor of the town was not in her equation. But he came in like a tornado and she doesn’t know how to handle the complications.
I have been dying to read about Charlie’s HEA as I have been in love with him throughout the series. He is sexy and enigmatic and charismatic and charming. His personality is completely disarming. And his devotion and loyalty to his single dad life made me swoon so bad. Janessa was helpless but wow did she make him work for it or not! I love this woman. She is strong enough to break away from a comfortable and traumatic past. Her motherly side is fiercely protective. Her heart is big enough to care and accept Charlie even when he was being a panicky mess. Physical chemistry was not an issue for them. From the first meeting, it felt their body is doused in gasoline and a simple touch ignited fire. But working through emotional baggage and complex situations was an entirely different ball game. L.B. Dunbar expertly put angst and heartbreak and tragedies throughout the story mixed with swoon and awe.
L.B. Dunbar writes real people with real emotions. And that’s what calls to my soul. Silver Mayor was no exception. A very realistic but otherworldly love story!

“I’m reminded of those smoldering moments in movies when the elevator doors are about to close and all will be lost. “Mr. Harrington,” she states. “Jan.”” – Silver Mayor, LB Dunbar
And just like that, I was hooked. Ok, ok, I lie. I was hooked before this, but I was having some serious Grey flashbacks and oh boy, it was good.
I’ve been reading LB for quite some time and I love so very much that she remains so true to her characters. Creating a world where so many of her characters can interact together, and we can catch up with old friends so often.
Janessa and Charlie. Swoon. Sigh. The fast burn here was truly a blazing inferno. I loved the instant chemistry and it was truly infectious. These characters have quickly become some of my most favorite. I couldn’t put the book down!

I enjoyed LB Dunbar’s other series of over 40 romance novels, and Silver Mayor is part of the series that is a spin-off of that series. I have enjoyed reading her books of people who have experienced a lot of life finding that special someone in a new season of life. Charlie and Janessa are entering new phases of their lives, and their meeting is leading them in new directions.
Both Charlie and Janessa have experienced betrayal at the hands of spouses more interested in themselves than in their marriages. Charlie and Janessa have trouble opening up and communicating because of the years of keeping things hidden to present the proper face in public or to their families. Charlie is known as “goody two shoes,” deserved or not, but he maintains that image to be the Mayor of Blue Ridge and be a good father to his daughter. Janessa is the daughter of immigrants employed by Charlie, and she is the ex-wife of a professional baseball player. She is working through much while at the same time trying to start a new life with her daughter in Blue Ridge.
There are conflicts, misunderstandings, and humor all through the book. You get the opportunity to glimpse into the happy of Giant and Billy, Charlie’s brothers. You also get a peek into the mysterious older brother James, and the story that will unfold there. There are many residents of Blue Ridge that have untold stories. Hopefully, the author will find those tales to share with us.

Finally, we get Charlie Harrington’s book. The sexy, silver mayor and all around good guy. That is until he finds a gorgeous brunette in his bedroom with his grandmother’s ring stuck on her finger. There’s just something about this woman that he can’t get out his head and once he sees her again, he’s determined to get down and dirty with her.
This story is definitely not a slow burn in the love/lust department as these two mature single parents are as spontaneous as two teenagers when it comes to when and where to do the deed. Overall, I enjoyed this sexy swoony story, but I wanted to shake Janessa a time or two and tell her to wake the eff up lol. If you’re a fan of LB Dunbar’s, as well as the over forty romances, then Silver Mayor is right up your alley.

Single Parents galore… Love it
Charlie Harrington is the a single 45year old dad and he is the mayor to a small town. He is happy with the way his life is. Running his town and raising his daughter and definitely not looking for a relationship. Until he meets Janessa Cruz.
Janessa is also a single divorced mother and trying to raise her daughters and getting her life on track again. From the moment she meets Charlie Harrington they have an attraction that just wont seem to go away.
But of course things aren’t as easy as meeting someone and liking them. Both of them have baggage and when that baggage comes calling, will they be strong enough to hold on or will it just be too much for both of them to claim this new chance of happiness.
I love single parent books. Its awesome to see how parents try and get their lives on track again and trying to make good life for themselves. And that is what Janessa was trying to do for her and her kids. She just didn’t know that she maybe needed someone like Charlie Harrington as well.
‘We’re total strangers. I know nothing about him, yet this… this feels like I’ve been missing him my entire life.’
Definitely an awesome addition to the Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge

Silver Mayor (The Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge series) by L B Dunbar is a funny story of Charlie Harrington the youngest brother and the Mayor of his hometown. When he walks into his bedroom he finds a beautiful lady in his room. Trying to get to the bottom of who she might be and why she is in his bedroom, he comes up empty. The only thing he does come up with is a physical attraction to her that has such an over whelming effect on him that it manifests itself physically. Jan aka Janeesa has moved in with her parents after she finally left her cheating husband. Leaving him with nothing but her daughter and a few belongings she finds herself sharing a room with her daughter sleeping on twin beds. She was helping her mother out when the owner of the home came home finding her in a comprising situation. The attraction to him is instantaneous. When she sees him again they end up getting it on. Matter of fact each time they seem to run into each other they end up having sex. The beginning of the story was rather silly and comical and it wasn’t realistic to me but it works. Misunderstandings between Charlie and Jan have each going insane and losing their minds. Jan working for Charlie only complicates matter. Charlie and Jan each have exes that have their own agenda and are not above under handed methods to get what they want. Quite the mess. Eventhough there are 2 previous books in the series, this book can be read without the others. I haven’t read the previous books but after this book I am interested and I am looking forward to the next book which I hope is about the Black Sheep brother. A feel good story that had quite a bit of hot spontaneous wherever they can sex. I found my self smiling through out this story but there were some parts that were a little sad. A bumpy ride to a happily ever after. 4stars for me.

Received ARC for honest review
Aww I loved Charlie and Janessa!!! Charlie is one sizzling hot mayor!! Wooza! I loved the tender moments as well. The town council meeting had me shocked to pieces and I can’t forget the comedy! This was such a well rounded story. I wish that these stories didn’t have to end because I want more of the characters in this whole series!!
4 Stars
