Power hungry Mages, Good vs. Evil.
Silver Clouds Dirty Sky, picks up where the last book in the series, Blood is Thicker, left us hanging in Suspense. Triston & Simon were forced to flee into a portal as the ONLY way to escape certain death. The story opens with them landing at the Tower of London, surrounded by guards. And so the running battle begins. They don’t know who to trust, because there is a traitor among the London Mages. We get to see a side of Triston that we’ve never seen before. A glimpse into his childhood history, that he would rather forget. Then once the gates of hell are opened by a renegade mage seeking power, a running battle through the streets of London ensues. And as usual for our Heroes, the buildings of London begin to be destroyed. This is much more then “London Bridge is Falling Down”… A must read for any fan of Urban Fantasy.
WOW talk about backed into a corner, these guys could really use a break. I’m really wanting to see Peaches “grow” into his role some more. I loved Uncle Dex & can hardly wait to see how much more trouble the guys get into.
Whenever I get in a reading funk, all I have to do is pick up one of the urban fantasy favorites and dig in. It will pull me out every time, and this world and series is one I hate to leave whenever I get to the end and yanks me right out of any book hangover.
Jumping right in after the end of book 3, we are tossed into the action from the first pages. Landing in London from the teleportation link, but Tristan is still be hunted and there is a mad man on the loose summoning demons, letting them loose on the city. The tests on Simon’s immortality curse will be tested – and he doesn’t like to die.
I can’t recommend this series enough. If you like urban fantasy, this is a great one. From the seriousness of Tristan, the smart-ass dialog from Simon, and Peaches – the Hellhound with a bottomless pit of a stomach and all the supporting cast, you will be on a wild, original and thoroughly engaging ride that will have you strapped in from the first pages to the end. I’m catching up with you, Mr. Sanchez. Just two words for you: “write faster,” the next one is already on my Kindle. 🙂 Reviewed by Cyrene
I haven’t read a book yet by Orlando Sanchez that I haven’t loved. The Montague and Strong series gets better with each installment. The author continues to develop the characters so that the reader gets more involved with them in each book. His trademark humor and snark never fail to bring the laughs. This is a must-read!
Monty and Strong (and of course sweet baby Peaches ) never fails to amuse and satisfy. I laughed out loud all throughout this book. There was so much death and destruction. Then there is Tristan’s Nana. Word to the wise…you NEVER piss off Nana! Read it now. Well, what are you waiting for? GO!
Great continuation with Monty and Simon with their very unusual entourage of magical beings….
Awesome
Every book in the series gets better than the one before. Can’t wait to see where this will all end up.
As is the norm for this series, the story hits the ground running and races to the finish line like a well bred horse. London will never be the same, but this time Peaches gets part of the…credit (blame lol). We get to find out just what Peaches may be capable of, other than emptying a well stocked larder. We meet the woman who shaped Monty’s life, and the woman who keeps Dex coming back for more. Tears of pain and joy intermingled whilst reading this tale, but it’s well worth it.
