What’s better than a silver fox? A lumbersexual! Giant is tall dark and quiet. He didn’t realize how lonely he was until Letty came out of nowhere. This book will lead you on an emotional journey that you won’t want to end. He didn’t like noise or chatter until it wasn’t there. Letty knew what she wanted. A baby, husband and happily ever after and not necessarily in that order.
This book was everything I was hoping for and more! This book shows you that finding love doesn’t have an age limit.
As A Woman over 50 I just want to first thank L.B Dunbar and also to let every woman out there no matter your age you can find love.
Letty Pierson is a woman who is 40 years old, never thought her life would be where it is now, no husband, no family and job she really doesn’t love but maybe the day she meets Giant Harrington is the day that everything is about to change. Meeting under unconventional circumstances she meets a man who can be just as frustrating as he is Sexy.
Giant Harrington is a 50 year old man, who in some ways is complex he has the children, even the grandchildren, runs a successful business but can there be room in his heart for more.
When Letty & Giant meet you can’t help feel the chemistry that falls off the pages, but what you will watch is how they navigate through all the feelings, the angst and even where do they go from here.
Watching their relationship develop is amazing to watch see the struggles they go through to get to a happy ending but can they truly find that HEA that is the final answer you need.
Wonderful.
My first book by this author, but definitely not the last one.
I loved Giant and Letty. They connected so beautifully, their chemistry was electrifying and their interactions were so addicting.
They were funny, loyal and they were willing to apologize for their mistakes and forgive for the other’s.
They both had issues to overcome, they strongly needed to improve their communication skills, but they both loved deeply.
I really liked the path the story took and I wasn’t expecting it. I’m not talking about twists and turns, but it was refreshing to see Letty’s new journey and Giant’s play in it, and I loved that it wasn’t rushly told.
Now, bring me the next Harrington brother.
This was my first LB Dunbar book but it won’t be my last!
I was hooked from the first page and read it quickly.
The book is about a small town mayor, known as Mayor McSteamy and boy is there a lot of steam in the book! The Mayor is a divorced full time dad to a ten year old girl. He doesn’t know quite what hits him when Janessa moves in with her parents who happen to be employed by, and lives on Mayor McSteamy’s, (AKA Charlie.) property.
Janessa is newly divorced from her Pro-baseball playing ex. She also has a ten year old daughter.
Get ready to laugh and enjoy the steamy chemistry between the two.
It has been awhile since I have ready a book this sexy and steamy but I enjoyed every page. This is the first in the series I have read but not the first written in the series. I will be reading the other books next!

Silver Brewer (The Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge) – L. B. Dunbar
Why did it take me so long to find L. B. Dunbar and her Silver Foxes?
I love when I discover a new author, who writes the kind of stories that I can easily relate to. L. B. Dunbar does just that. Add in that this series (did I say I loved series) is about finding love over 40, just another gold star (which now takes us from 5 to 6 when stars are being assigned.
The two main characters in this story are Letty (Olivet) Pierson, who is looking to buy property for an investor and “Giant” (George) Harrington owner of said property and also CEO of Giant Brewing Company. First thing we learn is Letty talks a lot! Giant doesn’t talk unless he needs to, he has chosen not to say much; in fact the best we get out of Giant right off the bat is that he renames Letty and calls her Cricket….you get where I’m going here?
Along with these two there is a side cast of minor players but each player impacts the lives of both these people, Letty brings to the table a family that really doesn’t act like family at all, sister, mother, uncle and ex-fiancé now engaged to said sister. In Giant’s case he brings parents, brothers a sister and daughters and granddaughters and his family is what you might call an in your face family.
You wonder how this will work between these two characters. Letty lives and works in Chicago and even though she ends up sharing some family info with Giant there is one major thing she leaves out. Giant remember is the CEO of the family brewery as well as coming from such a close family, the chance of him moving from Blue Ridge is not that great, yet they decided to try a long distance relationship.
L. B. Dunbar is great at writing miscommunications between these two, it’s so real that you get and understand why neither of them is going to share everything unless something happens. In the case of Letty and Giant though, it’s not one something but a lot of something’s.
Dunbar’s writing style keeps the reader engaged and invested in Letty and Giant, but also in the secondary characters. This is one of those kind of stories that you don’t want to put down and the moment you finish it your looking for the next story in the series.
Letty meets Giant and it’s on. The banter and the chemistry were amazing. Loving this series about silver foxes!!

I LOVED this story.
The plot was fantastic! Full of adventure, love, loss, and struggles. Some great puns too.
The characters were great. Both older and mature. Letty and Giant are absolutely made for each other.
I am so relieved that they get their happily ever after.
Absolutely worth the read. I’m actually mad at myself because this book has been on my TBR for a while. I wish I read it sooner. I will absolutely be reading more of the Harringtons.
Instant attraction
Giant has something Cricket wants, and Giant wants to mess with her head. They head off into the woods to camp and bargain and measure each other’s worth. From this flirty start the book hits some emotional highs and lows that I wasn’t expecting but was well worth the trip! Loved it!
OMG! I loved Silver Brewer! I am all onboard for a gruff mountain man and an independent lady with a dream. Olivet and Giant are off the chemistry charts from the beginning. I loved their interactions throughout the whole book! I don’t have a lot of words beyond that I loved it! LB Dunbar kills it on the regular with her over 40 series and Silver Brewer lives up to my expectations. There is just something special about this story, i love reading about two characters settled in their lives but knowing there is always a chance to find more. It’s refreshing to read about an “over 40” couple because it shows life doesn’t end after a certain age. And in a way the romance and chemistry is even more relatable and realistic because these two know who they are and what they want. I love Silver Brewer and I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Arc, for an honest review.
From start to finish, I absolutely loved this couple! This worked for them. Giant was all you can imagine for a great man, romance and all. Letty needed someone like him to balance her out. I loved the nickname he called her. Yes girl, give me more!
Who doesn’t love a broody mountain man and a feisty heroine who’s prepared to throw an axe around to prove her metal!!
Silver Brewer is my first read by L.B. Dunbar and it certainly won’t be my last.
It’s a really nice change to read a romance where the couple coming together are both mature adults that have their own unique histories and and everyday issues that have shaped their mindsets and forged their values.
This is definitely one of those stories; Letty has invested her heart into a man who wasn’t worthy of her love and has little support from those she loves, so is now looking to start a family of her very own less conventionally and needs to secure a real estate contract to make it a reality.
The only thing stopping her tis getting the signature of the aforementioned very ornery, very hot mountain man who’s interested in Letty than in selling his land.
But these two have worlds between them; distance, previous relationship baggage and miscommunication all prove stumbling blocks that stand in the way of them realising their love for each other is worth the effort and the risk.
Though at times this seemed a long read, and I sometimes wondered if they’d ever get their acts together, I enjoyed Giant and Letty’s story and it’s well worth the chance.
Love this book! Finished it in one day!
If only you could see my face while writing this review, you could not miss the silly grin and blushing cheeks that Giant Harrington kept on my face throughout my read. Silver Brewer by L.B. Dunbar is not just an over 40 sexy romance, it has that emotional love story that had my heart beating and falling apart. I’m already a fan of Dunbar, she’s the queen of over forty romance and silver foxes.
After reading Wine & Dine, I did not think that I would fall hard for another silver fox but along comes George Harrington and I’m obsessed with this grizzly “Giant” of a man. Damn, my knees buckled just thinking about his name. Giant has issues which have wanting to keep him isolated. Between coming back from war a broken man, the death of his wife, and the distance that he had not only while becoming the war hero that he is but the distance that was in his marriage left insecurities and blame. His life is his daughters, family’s brewery, and the life he built on land that was given to him by his grandfather. He’s a tough character to crack but once you put a smile on his face you’re determined to keep it there. Luckily, one woman is up to the challenge.
Olivet Pierson finds herself up in the mountains trying to convince Giant to sell his land, she didn’t expect to be the one to break down the walls that the landowner has built around himself. Three nights of camping is all it takes for her to realize how much she is missing out on life and love. Maybe there is more to life than working for her uncle. Olivet’s dreams are big and life-changing, is she willing to see her life without Giant?
Silver Brewer is knee-buckling hot and heartwarming. The bond of The Harrington family pulled me in and had me laughing. I can’t wait for more from these gorgeous silver foxes.
5 Must Read Stars!
Stick a fork in me because – I. Am. Done!
My little heart is full to bursting. Although, between thee and me, I fully expected something else to burst several times whilst reading this story. *snorts* Who needs those pesky little brain cells anyway? Certainly not me. *winks*
L.B. Dunbar has done it again! I know this story is about a Silver Fox, but baby, this beaut was pure gold. *smirks* (Thank you, thank you! *bows* I humbly accept the Queen of Cheese award.)
I honestly don’t think I’ve simultaneously laughed and swooned so much in ages. My jaw hurts from grinning. And that is saying a lot for someone with a permanent RBF!
George (aka Giant) and Olivet/Letty (aka Cricket) had my heart from the off. An immediate attraction boils over into sizzling chemistry.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to climb this Giant for yourself. Well, one can dream… *sighs* It’s always the quiet ones, isn’t it? Behind that stoic reserve lies a man filled with raw passions. He just needs the right woman to tap into them.
Now Letty, her and I hit it off from the get-go. Total BFFs (in my mind anyway), she had me wanting to break out the baseball bat! *shakes head* Not for her, silly. But, for all those that had done her wrong. I wanted to have an up close and personal word with their extremities *whistles*. Too much, you say? Not enough in my book. *smirks*
Age is but a number and we’re never too old to keep dreaming, and hope we find our heart’s desires.
Now, if only I could be so lucky.
I love to find a good story about a mature couple. The H, Giant, is 50 and the h, Letty is 41. She’s never been married, he’s a widower of 10 years. The book starts off with a bang but my 4 or 5 star rating went down to 3 stars. It’s still a good story if you like reading about mature couples, but Letty just got on my last nerve with her insecurities and assumptions. Giant laments not being able to communicate with his first wife while they were married. He was a career military man and away most of the time. Well, the communication gap is up front in this story and Letty is just OTT with her assumptions about Giant “not wanting to start over again.” You do get a HEA and I’m not sorry I read the book. But it could have been so much more IMO.
In Silver Brewer, L B Dunbar returns us to Blue Ridge, GA and the Harrington family this time with oldest sibling, Giant.
When we reconnect with Giant, he’s approaching 50 and has been married, widowed, raised children, and is on his second career after a medical discharge from the military. He’s content (mostly) with life when Letty sweeps in and changes everything. Letty is a slightly older heroine (40) and has her own baggage when she appears on Giant’s doorstep.
I found myself enjoying and relating to these characters. Ms. Dunbar does a fantastic job of portraying the complexities of getting to a certain point in life and having to decide if you want to change your direction or maintain the status quo. Both Giant and Letty are likeable characters and some of their interactions were absolutely priceless, especially as they try to figure each other out. Emotional growth and stretching is a consistent theme in their relationship as they try to decide where to go and what to do.
As much as I liked both characters and enjoyed their story, there were also times when I wanted to reach into the book and shake them. I found myself frustrated with Letty several times and her willingness to just accept certain aspects of her life. I think some of that is being of a similar age and hoping that I would handle certain things differently.
Silver Brewer is an excellent continuation of previous stories set in the Blue Ridge community. The Harrington siblings play are strong role in the secondary cast, especially the brothers. We get glimpses of them as the interact with Giant and I hope that means we will be seeing stories for them in the future.
I loved this story about Leti and Giant. I just love a silver fox story.
I read After Care and fell in love. Then I read Midlife Crisis and Restored Reams and wondered how L B Dunbar could top them. WELLLLL I just finished Silver Brewer and it’s my absolute new favorite! I loved the banter between Giant and Letty, from their initial meeting until the very end. And what happened at 81% (e-book) … that happened to ME and this book crushed me all over again. Oh the hurdles that Giant and Letty had between them and issues with each of their families, but it’s all so worth it for the HEA!
(I’ve found an error with BookBub….It only allows me to give up to 5 stars. This book is so worth more!)
George “Giant” Harrington wants to be alone. He has become somewhat of a recluse since the death of his wife. Olivet (Letty) Pierson disrupts that when she wants to buy his land for her families real estate business.
Where Giant is strong and quiet, Letty is talkative, and determined. George makes her a bet: spend three nights with him, camping, on the mountain and he will entertain the idea of selling. George is betting on her not lasting through the weekend. But Letty is hellbent on making this sale.
Their attraction to each other is palpable but them seem to be in two different stages in their life. So what happens? You’ll want to click on this second chance love story.
This is an over 40 romance and one that sucks you right in and won’t let up for air. I really liked Giant. He’s big, broody, and quiet. Though he comes off as gruff the more time he spends with Letty the romantic side of him comes out. He has many swoon worthy moments. I loved the banter between Letty and Giant. For what Letty has dealt with in life I want her to get the HEA and family she’s always wanted. She so deserves it, but will she be her own worst enemy when it comes to er future. This is the first book in the series and this one has left me eagerly anticipating the next book in the series. I really like L.B.Dunbar’s style of writing. This book gave me all feels and heat with humor, but also packs a punch with the heat. Letty and Giant have a ton of chemistry and boy things get fan yourself hot between them. I would recommend this one!
