James Harrington. That’s my name, my birthright, and my curse. I didn’t always hate being a Harrington. At one time, I took it as a privilege. I used it to my advantage. But a name doesn’t stop you from losing everything, and after six haunting years, that everything is back forcing me to face the past or give up a future.Evie Harrington.I bet you didn’t know about me because James doesn’t talk … me because James doesn’t talk about me. Or to me. We had it all and I was never happier. My family was my entire world, but that world shattered. When faced with the unimaginable, is there a way to put the pieces back together? After six painful years, it’s time to accept our history and move forward or move on from one another.
It’s the final Harrington brother, so hold onto your hearts. Silver Biker is going to be a bumpy ride.

The Last (?) Harrington brother, James “Ranger”, the black sheep of the family, gets his book and some just desserts.
I didn’t know in the beginning if I was going to find in my heart to forgive him or sympathise with him. But Dunbar packs such a brutal, powerful punch with the hard secret that hides behind his “unfeeling, uncaring” act of betrayal of sorts, that I was left with tears in my eyes.
It’s a story of togetherness, shared joys and sorrows, shared loss and grief and both take different approach to cope with it.
Evelyn is sensitive, honest and compassionate
James is gruff, rough but dedicated
both are the unlikeliest of couple, a marriage between mountain hick and southern, poised lady
I loved their introduction scene on the lake with the camper. And from then on James and Evie captivated my heart
Loved the book, sad that the series is coming to an end, but maybe Duncan gets his book and Prez Justice gets his book
4 stars Lost Hearts and Broken Trusts
I have to believe that James’s story is my favorite of the series. James and Evie’s story is raw and emotional with so much heart and heat. Their story proves that you can fall again even against the toughest odds and for the right love the effort is worth it. With the love and support of the Harrington clan, all odds are insurmountable.
“We keep coming together like clouds crashing, a thunderstorm marked by lightning, and then the rain. So much rain.” ~ James
WOW, so many tears. I didn’t think a book in this series could be more than Silver Brewer but this book did it. I absolutely loved it, cover to cover. This is a second chance romance
Silver Biker tells us the story behind broody black sheep brother James. James and Evie had a whirlwind romance, fell in love fast, but after years of happiness their world fell apart, taking their relationship with it. Evie left but now she is back, James has a short opportunity to make things right, if he can accept his chance.
James and Evie have scorching chemistry, heart-breaking trauma and a love they never lost. The story is beautifully written, tissues will be needed.
James Harrington.
That’s my name, my birth right, and my curse. I didn’t always hate being a Harrington. At one time, I took it as a privilege. I used it to my advantage. But a name doesn’t stop you from losing everything.
This is the book we have all been waiting for James Harrington and what a story he has to tell.
James Harrington former search & rescue officer is now a fire fighter and also a member of an MC club.
His life has changed so much due to one women Evie a women he met and fell in love with in such a short time.
Their first encounter was hot as hell and something they never will forget.
Things change I’m not giving this story away its one you really need to read, but roll on six years later so much has changed for them both, will James win back the women that holds his heart and be her rock for always & ever.
I guess you need to read it to find out thank you LB this book had it all, you really did save the best till last.
I have been looking forward to reading Evie (Evelyn Sue)(aka Peach-James’ nickname for Evie~) and James Harrington’s story. L.B. Dunbar not only brought the heat and passion of these lovers; she wrote a storyline of angst, hope, headache, recovery/redemption and enduring love. We all know that these characters are fictional but the situation of heartache was definitely felt in the words written. James is considered the lost and black sheep of the family. Evie gave up her own family to be with James because her family did not approve of James. I enjoyed reading the joy and pain of their relationship . This book can be read as a stand-alone but I enjoyed reading the characters from this and previous series in this book. I wish I could write a better review without spoilers but trust me when I say this book is one of my favorite books I have read by this author. I can’t wait for everyone to read this amazing book…Enjoy!!!
I really like this authors style of writing. I also like that she writes her heroes and heroines over the age of 40. We love to see that. This is a book I was looking forward to and it didn’t disappoint. The angst was heavy duty in this one and I won’t go into detail because you need to experience it the way I did. Through the words. But James and Evie’s story really touched me and I’m so so glad I got to rad it. Thank you to Wildfire Marketing and the author for allowing me an early copy of this and I volunteered to leave this unbiased and honest review.
Silver Biker, like it’s predecessors, has been quite a ride, literally. James and Evie’s story will have you wanting to pull out your hair in frustration with them, but at the same time, you’ll be rooting for them.
James and Evie have a checkered past. Once they were set to be together forever and then the worst event of their lives happened and they were pushed apart causing Evie to return home to Savannah.
Now, years later, Evie’s back in Blue Ridge, but is she here for James or something else?
James has never stopped loving Evie, but his guilt over what happened in the past has made it impossible to stay with her. Until she returns.
Now, he’s going to do everything he can to keep her where she belongs.
With him.
Evie has always loved James, and always will. But, she has moved on. Or has she?
These two characters had an explosive chemistry, and watching them come together then fall apart once more both exciting and heart-breaking. Love and loss are written deep in their hearts and story. But, ultimately, love won the day.
This was a satisfying ending to a fabulous series
Overall Grade:
If you thought Giant, Billy, and Charlie Harrington were stubborn, readers, meet James Harrington, L.B. Dunbar’s newest hero in Silver Biker. James Harrington wins the prestigious award for Most Stubborn Harrington Brother in the Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge series. Now, you are probably saying, but Professor A, he has endured a serious trauma in his life. His response is appropriate for his loss. Well, I’m not heartless, so yes, it’s appropriate, but it will also drive you to drink as you read Silver Biker. When Dunbar was crafting her hero for this book, and she used her imaginary character generator, she legitimately chose stubbornness for his first trait and then added in possessiveness. Together, these are a heady mixture. Add to that a story that magnifies the difficulties of trauma and grief, and you’ll find Silver Biker to be an ode to couples who struggle but yet survive.
Dunbar’s Silver Biker is a tug-a-war of visceral emotions with the past on one side and the present and future on the other. If you are looking for an easy read, the ease is only found in Dunbar’s style and the careful layout of her plot. However, each turn of the page is an agreement in frustration as James and Evie balance feelings. There is a realism in this story, and it deftly illustrates the different grief processes of people. Both Evie and James have suffered a loss, but each has taken a different path to process it. Dunbar is careful in not stating there is a “right way” to do so, but she makes it clear that one may not be as healthy as the other. These two are tortured on their journey, and Dunbar makes it palpable for her reader, investing them emotionally.
This isn’t Giant’s story of second chances. This isn’t Billy’s story of laying down his secrets. This isn’t Charlie’s uber-charged $exual extravaganza and worries over the perceptions of his life (although Evie and James’s chemistry burns bright in this story). Dunbar holds our hand through each page, but there isn’t really any resolution until almost the very end. This keeps you on the roller coaster for much of the story. There are times when you want to get off of it, but you simply cannot because Dunbar endears you to James and Evie. These are two broken people trying to find their wholeness again after many years. It’s a keen admonishment about choices and the ways that we choose to live our lives. And with his award for most stubborn firmly entrenched in his character, James reminds us time and time again about the pain of letting go.
I had been waiting almost impatiently for Silver Biker. I love stories that act as a mirror to the challenges of the human spirit. Even more, the romance genre proffers a happy ending for the pain of enduring that reflection. When a writer such as L.B. Dunbar does this carefully, she owns a piece of you. And she does this brilliantly in Silver Biker. If you’ve been reading the Harrington Brothers’ stories, you knew this was coming. You knew James and Evie’s story would be profound, but anticipating it and living it with Dunbar’s characters are entirely different. Silver Biker absolutely met my expectations and offered up MORE. If you’re a reader like me who adores the broken heroes and the heroines whose tenacity and strength save them, then L.B. Dunbar’s Silver Biker is a true #oneclicknow kind of book.
They loved once another – that’s crystal clear. But they can’t seem to tell one another except physically and even then, they can’t accept that their chemistry is Love. At one point I wanted to scream, “Oh, C’mon!”
But mutual heartache gets in the way, the kind some know too well and others of us pray that we never have to undergo. James’s sadness is palatable; you feel it all the time. It’s a constant weight on his shoulders; you wonder how the man can put one foot in front of another. For Evie, you think she’s handled her grief and moved on until it all becomes too much, and she literally falls apart in two days.
An exceptional scene in this book brings together all the Harringtons and is perhaps one of my favorite scenes of any book, anywhere. LB Dunbar is wonderful at writing family drama; this scene brings the strings from all the Silver Foxes Blue Ridge books together in a neat, satisfying way.
I haven’t read the previous books in the series and I managed to follow the story with ease I just didn’t have the full story of the other brothers. My first impressions of James “Ranger” were not favourable at all, he came across as a gruff moody rude loner who doesn’t really have friends or care what anyone thinks. Evelyn was gentle sensitive and tortured by the past, which is slowly revealed in heartbreaking detail.
The story follows James and Evie as they try to reconcile their past. I liked how this was written because now we get to see the real James the broken man who can’t move past his guilt. Going back through their memories was truly heartbreaking to read but it made me like James when I didn’t think I would. The whole story left me feeling raw and emotional but also hopeful for the future.
Look, I flipping love LB. Love. Her Heart Collection is absolutely one of my favorites, but the silver foxes she writes, sigh. How do you not fall for these guys and their second chance romances, their dirty DIRTY talk, and their good hearts with (sometimes) bad attitudes?
I don’t know the lingo. I’m not versed in Sons of Anarchy. – Silver Biker, LB Dunbar
I actually have mad love for Jess, from the Heart Collection (book 1, go read it), but here I am, reliving my Jax Teller fantasies with a silver fox. Okay, not all things Jax Teller, but James Harrington belongs to a motorcycle club, rides a Harley, and has a filthy mouth. All things I’m here for.
James and Evie love each other. They split because guilt was too much when they lost their child. So the base, the meat of this story is already there and it’s good. So good.
Evie wants to move on and James wants his wife, but doesn’t know how to be with her.
This story is so raw and full of emotion and might be LB’s best book yet. I’m not sure, because I love all of them, but James sits firmly behind Jess as my favorite of LB’s guys now. And that says so much, because LB makes me fall for all the men she writes.
Imagine crossing paths with the love of your life out on a hiking trail. That reality is what James and Evie experienced 19 years ago. The two felt the world tilt when they met, and that encounter led to skinny dipping and a night of fun. What transpired from that encounter would bring James and Evie together again once they realized that parenthood was on the horizon. The two quickly became inseparable and life together as husband and wife soon followed.
With love comes tragedy…….an event that was unimaginable would change the course of this marriage. No one was prepared for what happened or the pain that would follow. James retreated into himself and pushed Evie as far away as possible. Six years pass without the couple coming to terms with their separation, until Evie decides it is time to let go of the pain from the past.
Heading back to the past means facing James after so many years. While Evie has decided to pick up the pieces of her life and move on, James’ life is still in a constant upheaval. When Evie comes back to town, James finds that his love for his wife has never dimmed. The remnants of the couple’s former life kindled a fire inside of a heart so damaged that forgiveness seemed impossible. As the two share memories from their past, the grief slowly gives way to understanding and hope for the future. Can Evie and James find a way to forgive and move on from the tragedy that tore both of their lives in two?
Are you ready for Silver Biker? This new release left me holding on to my heart while shedding a few tears. Written about a very realistic couple, Silver Biker kept me captivated from beginning to end. L.B. Dunbar has once again proven that her writing involved a story plot that is so realistic you can imagine every nuance of the characters. Evie and James certainly face a tragedy that is hard to swallow, but the love that lasts in their hearts was inspiring. Silver Biker has it all……romance, tragedy, love, humor, and second chances!! Make sure to add this beautiful story to your reading list!!
James Harrington is here in full force with his story, Silver Biker. L.B. Dunbar has delivered a well written, emotionally driven second chance love story between James and Evie with this read, so you better put on your helmet, hop on your bike, and settle in for the ride of your life. Their story is one of instant chemistry and attraction along with an emotional story that will most definitely pull at your heartstrings. James has always been the elusive brother in the previous books of this series but here we get to see and know him in a whole new light and he may be my favorite Harrington brother yet. And Evie, she is one special woman that has her strengths and weaknesses but through it all has kept her fierceness that makes her the special woman she is. And together, these two are just wonderful. I believe this is the best Silver Fox of Blue Ridge story yet. Well done L.B Dunbar!
Talk about saving the best for last!!
This final story of the Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge was amazingly heartbreaking and so full of faith and hope and the true meaning of love.
This is the story of the infamous black sheep of the Harrington family, James. This is the story of Evelyn and her whirlwind relationship with her husband….James.
We find out the reasons behind why James became the man he is and we see the man he wants to be, for himself, for his family and for his “Peach” Evie.
The absolute heartbreak and disastrous decisions that happened between Evie and James was absolutely riveting to read and I commend Ms. Dunbar for handling the issue with dignity, grace and with the swooniness we come to love from her writing. I was moved to tears reading their story and was beautiful to read. I loved the spiritual element with the dragonflies and of course Silver.
I fell in love hard with the town of Blue Ridge and the people who lived there, from the Harringtons to all the characters that played a part of the town and the world that Ms. Dunbar has created. I truly hope this isn’t the last we will see from this community!
This angst filled story is going to move you and make you fall in love with Ms. Dunbar’s stories!
I went into this story, knowing from some references in some books of the series that it wouldn’t be easy to read. And boy, was I right. I went into it with my heart pounding heavily, and that didn’t change throughout the story. I was always staggering on the verge of tears because I am a mother myself and I have gone through difficult times in my life as well. There were moments when I had to stop reading to catch my breath. I could relate so much to these characters because of my own life experiences.
This book feels as if the author has poured her whole being into every word. It is one of the most intense books I have ever read, and it tore me apart, broke my heart, made me scream inwardly, both from frustration with the protagonists and from grief for them, until there was nothing left in me. This book has really pushed me to my limits.
But there was always a silver lining, a little of hope that Evie and James would find a way to put their lives and their relationship back on track, and that made me eager to read on and that’s what made this book so memorable and unforgettable …
It is a reading highlight in 2020 and a book that I won’t forget easily, if at all.
I really hate to say goodbye to this wonderful series.
Another silver fox, but this one is the black sheep of the Harrington family. James has basically put himself in exile away from his family. He doesn’t feel he’s good enough to be a Harrington. One tragic event changed his whole life that caused him to not only turn away from his family, but also he chased away his wife Evie.
I will not give spoilers in this one, I feel you need to read this and experience all the emotions this story will bring out of you!
4 stars for this one, grab it asap!
L.B. Dunbar has saved the best for last! I believe I may have said that about each one of the books, so no matter which one you pick up, you are guaranteed to be thoroughly entertained, captivated, and delighted. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my journey with each of the Harrington siblings, I am sad to see all their stories have been told. Each one of these books contains stories and characters going through real-life challenges; challenges that many people face. This is part of the reason the books are so poignant and hit you deep with emotion. For brothers, they are all so different and unique. Each of them has special qualities, different tragedies they struggle with, but all of them are so worthy of the love they have found in their women. And let’s not forget Madi—this family has had more than their fair share of death.
The author has always mentioned James in her books but left much of his story untold. She gave us hints of tragedy and loss—hints of a broody, black sheep lost without a light to guide him home. Silver Biker is James’ story and to say it is heartbreaking would be somewhat of an understatement. Everybody deals with grief in their own way and the circumstances surrounding a death can play a huge part in that process. No one can fault James for his own process, all you can do is want to reach out and hug him. Help him see the way back home.
Evie is the other part of James, the part we are only getting to see now, but what a part she has played in his life. Evie is back and together they struggle to move forward but keep the memories alive. Together they remember the past, live in the moment, and find their way home. It is a beautifully tragic story that had me shed more than a few tears amongst the smiles. I believe Silver Biker will be in my top 5 reads for 2020. So, do I recommend it—MOST DEFINITELY!
Sadly, there are only 5 siblings, so this is likely an end to The Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge, but L.B. Dunbar saved her best story for last. Although, I do hope some of the side characters we’ve come to know and love find their way to the pages of a book someday.
Personally, I think, the best way to read these stand-alone books is in order of publication, but there are no rules telling you to do so. Just be forewarned that the author does an amazing job of keeping everyone in the know about what has happened in the past, so some things may end up being spoilers, but you won’t even know until you are knee-deep into one of those books.
I’m stunned, breathless. Heart racing with eyes blinking away tears threatening to spill.
Dunbar has something with these Harrington boys that just lures you in, capturing a piece of you.
James and Evie, fast, burning but extinguished by a heartache of loss no one can fathom. Separation, desperation for the future, and a battle of will. Of need.
“Silver Biker” is so much more than I ever could have imagined. I love all of the Harrington brothers, but L.B. Dunbar saved the best for last. To me, James had always been the mysterious and misunderstood brother. I couldn’t help but wonder why he was estranged from his family and why he refused to accept help or advice from his brothers. James was a loner who was full of despair and heartache for how his life turned out. Was he waiting for a sign that it was time to emerge from the darkness and free himself from his past? I never expected to feel as emotional as I did after reading this touching book. I don’t often get teary eyed while reading, but James and Evie’s story tugged at my heart and made me sad at all they had been through.
L.B. Dunbar transitions between the past and the present so we can witness the magical time when James and Evie first met. Evie was young, carefree and had left home in search of peace, relaxation and reflection. When James came upon the beautiful blonde and her 60’s-era trailer, he knew his life would never be the same. Evie was a vision of beauty and he was caught up in her brightness. She was what was missing from his life and he thanked the stars that he had found her.
Their journey together was full of love and happiness…until all that faded away. The pain was too much for James to handle and he withdrew from everyday life, while alienating himself from Evie. Now, when Evie returned home, James wasn’t prepared for what she wanted from him. He never saw it coming and hoped he had the strength to fight it.

5 Star Review Silver Biker (The Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge #4) by L.B. Dunbar
It’s always great to be back in Blue Ridge to catch up with the Harrington’s; I love this family and their friends. I have been intrigued by the glimpses we have gotten about reclusive James Harrington in the previous books and have been eagerly awaiting his story; L.B. Dunbar did not disappoint, James and Evie’s story was everything I hoped it would be and so much more.
Silver Biker was and emotional roller coaster of a read about loss and tragedy which brought me to tears at times. Both James and Evie have been through so much and the fact that they can see light at the end of a very dark tunnel is heart warming. It is a story about taking stock, looking deep inside yourself and coming to terms with what you learn. At times it felt overwhelming, but underlying this book, is a story of love and determination.
Coming to terms with the pain of their past, gives James and Evie a second chance, to forgive and move forward. This story has drama, angst and a beautiful love that shines through despite all that James and Evie have been through. It was also steamy and it was great to catch up with the other couples and see what is happening.
This story grabs you from the first chapter and will not let you go until the end. Silver Biker is a well written, strong, second chance at love story with characters that are easy to relate to and whose story you will quickly become invested in. It is a great addition to The Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge. One click this little gem, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
