I was sooo looking for this book. Kyson and Bay had me intrigued from the first time they met in Silver&Sage. I mean, it was cute watching the way they’ve been circling each other from the beginning, neither willing to make the first move.
Maybe because of how much Kyson and Bay tried to stay away from each other, I felt like their story was more emotionally and sexually charged than the others. Attraction has been cackling between from the get go, only intensifying the more time they spent around one another. Denying their feelings and their chemistry only amped up the frustration, to the point that something had to give.
All I’ve got to say is FINALLY! Hangups and doubts forgotten, heads out of backsides, lol, priorities readjusted… eyes and hearts open to admit they’re absolutely amazing together. I don’t think they stood a chance, anyway, not if their families had any say in it. And they always do. I’ll admit that’s what I enjoyed most about Silver & Spice and the whole series: this family’s unity, their meddlesome style of dealing with situations, the absolute certainty that they’ll always have each other’s backs. It’s been a joy to be a part of their journeys, and to witness each of them find love and happiness.
What a great ending to this series. We see Kyson and Bay (and Arlo) reach their HEA amid meddling family and lotsa puke! Loved this whole series all the characters, the book names, just everything!

Overall – 5

A good end to a great series!
Silver & Spice was a great story when I read it and I enjoyed it just as much, maybe even a little more, listening to the great audio performance by Michael Stone.
Silver & Spice is the final book in the series and I think it’s my favorite. Having read the series in order, we’ve been seeing Kyson and Bay dance around each other and the end of book two left us with a pretty big cliffhanger that is resolved in this book. Bay, who recently became a father to his nephew after his sister died, has been fighting his attraction to Kyson. Kyson is several years younger than Bay and Bay doesn’t think it’s fair to saddle the younger man with a child so early in his life. This is another seriously steamy book. Kyson likes to talk dirty in the bedroom and Bay loves to hear it.
I love how Bay’s grandmother helped force these two to talk and resolve the issues that were causing Bay to keep them apart. There are some really funny scenes in this story involving Grandma Millie and a dildo. I’m not saying anything more.
Silver and Spice is the last book in the Silver in the City series. The first two books should be read first before this one. Book 2 had ended on a little bit of a cliff hanger that goes right into book 3.
The tropes for this romance are age gap, forced-proximity, fake-relationship, and ready-made family. The plot does a really good job of fleshing out these tropes and creating an exciting story. Kyson Silver has been crushing on Bay since the moment he met him. The feeling is mutual, but Bay has his doubts about starting anything romantic with Kyson; first, Bay is a dad and finding someone willing to step up and take on the responsibility that comes with child is hard, and second, Bay is significantly older than Kyson. It takes the meddling of Bay’s grandmother to finally force these two men to take the first steps towards their own happily ever after. And it takes her continued meddling to keep them together and not let their own insecurities ruin their chances of a happy ever after.
The audiobook was narrated by Michael Stone. He has a smooth voice with a steady rhythm. There isn’t a lot of different character voices, but he keeps each person distinct and it was easy to follow along with the audiobook. There was a lot of drama in this book and Michael Stone made sure to add the right inflections to help emphasize the dramatic moments as appropriate. The overall production of the audiobook was well done.
I have been waiting for this book since the series started. I loved that the relationship between Kyson and Bay is teased throughout the other two books. It was a great to watch the slow build up of their relationship and them over come their demons. Each of the guys over comes their inner turmoil to become a strong couple and a great family unit. I loved watching them become a family.
This was such a good book. It was so well written and flows really well. I did not want to put it down! I think it is a good cap to the series.
I love Kyson and Bay so much. They both have feelings for each other, but have their own reasons for not letting those feelings out. Kyson helps Bay out after his grandmother gives him an offer that will help him raise Arlo comfortably. When neither one will admit they really care for each other and want to give their relationship a shot, Bay’s grandmother meddles again with a set up that is pretty great and makes them come face to face with what they want together
What an awesome conclusion to the Silver in the City series! These guys though! Just can’t get enough of them. Ms. Ellis has given her characters so much sophistication, empathy, grit and heart, it is absolutely impossible to not love them all. Reality shines through in each and every book in this series, allowing the reader a strong connection to the characters and giving us that feeling of being able to relate. A definite must read!
I was gifted a copy of this book and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion.
I have wanted to see Kyson, Bay and Arlo get together as a family since reading the first book in this series but I never expected it to happen the way it did. Everything in the plot of this book was unexpected, took my breath away and kept a permanent smile on my face. Every one of my favorite trope boxes got checked – fake boyfriends, forced proximity, coffee shop visits, helpful fairy godmother. I also found my new role model in this book. I want a Millie in my life as a friend and then in a few years I want to be her. I love that woman!! The “deleted scenes” at the end where each couple got their own cameo was a perfect ending. Cannot wait to see how all these characters show up in the spin-off coming later this year as well as getting to meet new ones meet. Maybe a Millie story?
Finally it is Bay and Ky’s story! I’ve been waiting for these two since they met in the first book, and I wasn’t disappointed. They have insane chemistry and the slow burn before they finally give in is delicious! Both of them are keeping the other at arm’s length, Bay especially. He doesn’t want to burden Ky with suddenly becoming a parent to Arlo, and he’s convinced that it has to stay that way… even when Ky is the only one he can turn too for a huge favour. Their fake relationship was killing me because they weren’t communicating, and so thank goodness for Bay’s grandmother and her sneaky methods to get them to talk. There was no holding back for them after that!
I’ve enjoyed all the Silver in the City stories, and it’s definitely too hard to pick a favourite. They’ll all be a comfort re-read for me.
I’m sad that the series is ending but happy to finally be able to read Kyson and Bay’s story. It was very frustrating! Hahaha! I felt like the first two books in the series also included all the foreplay for Ky and Bay so when it was time for their story, things would just happen. I don’t want to ruin it for any of you future readers but they take a few more frustrating turns until these guys realize what is right in front of them. And then it’s all honesty, romance and hot chemistry. It’s a well written story and I love the updates to all of the guys that we get!!
Silver and Spice picks up where Silver and Gold left off. There was an emergency with Bay so Kyson rushed to the hospital, thinking the worst.
These two! Kyson has feelings for Bay and at times it’s hard to understand what Bay is feeling because hes so freaking stubborn! I mean, its admirable, he wants to put his son Arlo first, but he doesn’t need to sacrifice love and happiness for himself in order to do so. The perfect partner for him, and second parent for his son is right there in front of his face but hes so blinded by his “life plan” and set in his ways that hes going to lose the best thing that ever happened to him and Arlo.
Ok- confession time! Don’t tell any of the other guys I said this, but of all the couples in this series, Kyson and Bay are my favorites. Maybe that’s why this book was such an emotional read for me. I was ALL OVER THE PLACE! I laughed, cried a couple times, and stressed out for most of the book because I wanted these two to be happy and I knew in my heart they would be happy together. Don’t even get me started on the sexual tension between them. It was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
Silver and Spice had everything I look for in a great book and more, including an adorable little boy and a meddling grandmother who was beyond hilarious. I would love to drink coffee and gossip with Millie, she was the best!
Everyone needs to meet Kyson and Bay. Please remember- I met them first- they are my BESTIES, you can’t have them. I’m serious. If you haven’t already, you need to meet the other men from The Silver in the City series. They are all FANTASTIC!
