Brought together by passion;Separated by destiny. She’s his muse. His love. His inspiration. And he refuses to let her go.For nearly two years, Kai Eastwood has watched Phoenix Banks lost in a state of coma.Singing the songs they wrote.Remembering the moments they spent together.Missing the kisses they shared.Holding hope. But how long can hope be held when, with each new day, Phoenix slips farther … kisses they shared.
Holding hope.
But how long can hope be held when, with each new day, Phoenix slips farther away?
Maybe this time
When the music fades,
And the silence invades,
Their song will begin.

I felt totally prepared to read the book.
then the story happened ….
Well now that I wrote it like that I know that sounds like a bad thing – but please check again … I rated this book with five stars …..
So this is actually more me being shocked … I never expected this debut to be this well-developed … Dear Author, even Colleen Hoover’s first books showed room for improvement – where are you planning to go with the next books? It would probably be better to release them under a new author name or so (just joking) because if the readers have the same expectations for the next novel you are bound to feel the pressure.
The plot of Silent Music is heartbreaking and still full of hope.
Is it realistic? You ask … well does it have to be? I would ask back…
It is full of love and beautiful developed characters.
It is about never losing hope even if the situation looks hopeless
I would love to tell you details about the plot but actually, that would take away from the story and that would be unfair (I was already unfair asking the author a ton of questions before #insert eye roll)
If you like the plots I usually rate with 5 stars and you like this plot than you should simply go for it and read this book – it will be worth it and I know that it made me remember why … I love reading this kind of debuts – Please give me more ….
4.25 Stars
Phoenix & Kai.
They fell in love when they were 17 years old. They loved life. They loved and created music and lyrics. The future looked amazing. But then four years later Phoenix got into a car accident. Now she’s been in a coma for two years. Kai is very successful with his band; tours, fans, et cetera. But he visits Phoenix every week. He reads to her. Pages from her diary. Which is how we find out how they met and fell in love.
His parents tell him to move on – that she’ll never wake up.
But he believes with all his heart that there will be a happily ever after for them ….
WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH KAI & PHOENIX?
WILL WE GET A HAPPY END?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!
Well, that was … super heartbreaking. But also so very beautiful and adorable and full of music and hope and love and … ugh. I just adored Kai. He’s so perfect! He still loves Phoenix so much and he hopes sooo very much that she’ll wake up one day soon. Ugh, that poor boy!
I usually hate it when we get a lot of back-in-time chapters. But we needed them here – we needed to get to know Phoenix. And it was so sweet and adorable to see them back then.
The book has two parts. You can imagine why – obviously part 1 is the time where Phoenix is in the coma and then in part 2 … she woke up. But things are not as perfect as Kai always hoped they would be. Not at all. But he’s not giving up!
I loved reading this. I cried a lot.
Great romance. Lots of heartbreaking moments! Lots of sweet and adorable and funny and music and poetic moments.
I loved it and I want to see it on Netflix someday soon please!!!!!
A couple tiny little things I didn’t like.
I don’t like it when I don’t know where I am. I need a city or even just a country in my books. I don’t like this could-be-anywhere-in-the-world thing. My favorite books have real places with real street names and lots of research into everything.
Then … the cover. It’s cute. But it’s a 1950’s cute. Not a rock star from 2019 cute.
And then the story itself. There were some holes for me. Sometimes I had the feeling that there had to have been a prologue book. Things were mentioned that were never mentioned before or after. Like the Edwards place, how old the girl were when they moved in with their parents, why is Kai’s mom so weirdly against Phoenix, it’s never mentioned again, college??? We go from highschool to coma and suddenly there’s talk about ‘back in college’???
Then the rock star thing. It was mentioned a few times but you never get the feeling that Kai is a rock star. There was no rock star life anywhere in the book. Just a tiny few moments.
This book should’ve been 50 pages longer with more detail and depth and a good editor should’ve gone through it again to take out the weird stuff and the weird words.
And then the language. I don’t what Aisling’s first language is, but I very often had the feeling that the book was originally written in ?? French or Estonian or whatever and then later google translated into English.
But all that doesn’t stop this story from being beautiful and heartbreaking!

This story is absolutely amazing. It is full of emotion, pain, and love. I felt like crying at every turn and twist. Each lyric was beautiful and the way they all came together was beautiful. The characters were easy to imagine. They both had flaws but they overcame them. I understand Kai’s perspective and Pheonix’s perspective. I love how the author made the story come to life while making us feel for the characters. The story was captivating. I really liked how we could understand where they came from, their past.
Phoenix has been in a coma for the last two years after her small car is hit by a truck. Kai, her boyfriend has come to meet her every week, reading memories from her diary. They don’t know whether or not she’ll wake up. She used to be one-fifty pounds with a little bit of fat but now she is a literal skeleton. Even if she does wake up, she might never have mobility. Her two dads, sister, and boyfriend will do everything for her.
I wrote this voluntary review in exchange for an ARC copy.
From the moment I read the premise of this book I was immediately drawn to it. It’s an emotionally intense read, one that pulled at my heartstrings while warming my heart. It’s young love at its finest, most precious, in a touching story that pulled me in with each turn of the page.
Kai and Phoenix are a wonderful couple, one whose love is truly tested after a coma tears them apart, before their combined love of music brings them back together. In a tale told via flashbacks, as well as where their relationship is once Phoenix comes out of her coma, things certainly aren’t easy for this couple as they have to find each other again as Kai especially has changed. He’s a rock star now, one who could have anyone he wants. Kai’s love never wavered though, even with everyone telling him to move on he was only ever devoted to Phoenix. Because of his devotion Kai endeared himself to me and with each turn of the page made me fall for him even more. Phoenix too showed an inner-strength in not only rebuilding her life but in rebuilding her love with Kai. On a whole they were just perfect for each other and I felt honored watching their romance play out. Along with this unforgettable main couple came a small cast of secondary characters that were supportive to the main couple who leave me wanting to know more about them. Phoenix’s sister and Kai’s brother I was especially drawn to and I enjoyed their fun and supportive connection to this couple as it added to the realism of this story.
There was much to like about this story courtesy of a couple whose love is meant to be and who get put through the emotional wringer, alongside readers. There’s a lot of angst along with plenty of sweet and sensual exchanges. While some people dislike flashbacks they were essential to this story as it laid the groundwork for their journey to HEA. I hurt when they hurt but it was a journey that was richly rewarding by the turn of the final page. While there was much to like about this book there were just a few quibbles I had. There was a bit of roughness when it came to the narrative, comments are made that are never addressed again, and the dialogue felt a bit off too at times. Though Kai has become a rock star it wasn’t very apparent as he didn’t seem to be living the lifestyle. The story felt like it needed a bit more time as well to wrap it up fully, but despite these imperfections I still found this a heartbreaking journey that ultimately warmed my heart and soul.
