I love it! Its an amazing book and a even more amazing series! WL Knightly Silent Crime
Silent Crime (Hangman #1)
Some reviews say the series is crap
Well, I thought the first one was a brilliant read and the characters were written well. I personally Loved everything about the book.
I laughed at detectives Jake and Jo’s love/hate relationship at the beginning and the way Jo put Jake in his place from the off…I neeeeeeed so badly to read Hangman #2, even if it’s just to see how their relationship ends up. Murders meh, love yay! The serial killer’s murders are somewhat gruesome and I need to know if the Chief is gonna be okay?
I would recommend to anyone that likes a good detective story but be warned, you need to know it’s not a stand-alone, it cuts off at a crucial point…
…On to Guilty Crime (Hangman #2)
::::SPOILER:::::::
I’m giving 3* only because the writing and suspense were good while reading this story. However, the ending of this book with a ‘to be continued’ theme was not to my liking at all. This is the second different author within the last month that I’ve read who has used this ‘ploy’ to insure the sell of their series. I do not like being ‘forced’ to purchase the next books to get to an ending and I don’t know that I will. I enjoy serial books with the same characters in each, but the storyline (mystery) has closure and the reader has another mystery to look forward to in the next book. I’m sure this was intended to be good marketing, but not enough for me to spend my money. Sorry.
I have a Kindle to save money on books. Takes 6 books to get trough this series. Will not ever read these authors again.
Loved it but don’t like that it doesn’t end! I have to keep buying more books!
Love a scary, unpredictable read.
This book held my interest and kept me going from chapter to chapter to find out what happens next. I’ve read every book in this series and enjoyed them all.
Good Arthur- I’ve never read anything by this author and was pleasantly surprised. – I have since ordered the rest of the series and I’m enjoying the last one now – great read and highly recommended
I am very irritated with this book. If you don’t want a spoiler, do not continue to read.
This is one of those books that doesn’t actually solve the crime at the end. It just teases into the next book. It is very short and gets you to the point that you want to know who done it, but to find out you will need to purchase the next book. Unfortunately, I will not be purchasing. This, to me, is a bait and switch. I’m fine with a series of books, but not with an ending to one so you are forced into the next and the next and the next. I often will purchase the next in the series because I enjoyed the book. But when it is handled like this, I won’t. It just turns me off of the author.
Hated the ending. Excellent book, ending very disappointing!
Part 1 of what is apparently a serial. Story stopped on a cliffhanger. Didn’t like protagonist. Writing OK but no better than average. Not interested in reading more.
It didn’t end. Have to buy the next book to find out the killer. Hate that.
Great series. Waiting for next book.
Real good book, but what a disappointment to realize that when I thought I had gotten to the end of the book, that it was only part 1. So I am “left hanging.” I like for books to finish, not be fragments!
This is an Awesome read—-Hard to put down but need to keep reading the series to find out who the hangman is. Lots of twists and turns.
Loved this book was disappointed when it ended now can’t wait to get the sequel
Have to read book2 to find the ending of book1. Not interested in reading the books
Revenge taken to a whole new level. At times one could feel the main characters pain. Story is “unfortunately” very realistic for this period in history. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.
It was a slow starter but once you start reading you can’t stop.
book was a “to be continued”. Not really solved.
