“Way more intense than I was ready for. I couldn’t put this book down!” ★★★★★He claims he loves me. Strokes my cheek and smiles as he promises whatever I desire. But first, I must submit. Not only to him, but to two other virulent and terrible men. That is the bargain the three of them made between themselves. But I never agreed to this. I never agreed to forever.Branded Captive: Wren’s Song Book … I never agreed to forever.
Branded Captive: Wren’s Song Book 1 is a dark, sinister Omegaverse Reverse Harem tale for those with twisted tastes and a love for unabashed bad boys. Complete power exchange dominates these pages, as do THREE smoking-hot Alpha antiheroes.

Love Addison Cain’s works but I am really struggling with the brutality of this series and not finding the reverse harem description accurate. Unlike the Irdesi series and even Alpha’s Claim, Wren has zero power.
Dark, Intense & Twisted!
Book 1 leaves you hanging and book 2 is no different with its cliffhanger! Did what you secretly wish would happen truly happen? Silent Captive took a completely different route from where I envisioned it to go – so many twisted personalities, hidden pasts and questions unanswered, but it did not disappoint. Can’t wait for book 3 and fingers crossed there will be a ray of sunlight for Wren amid all the darkness.
This is the second book in the “Wren’s Song” series by Addison Cain, so if you haven’t read the first book, you need to or you’ll be lost.
It should be noted with this series, that it’s NOT a romance… it’s a dark erotic horror/thriller. So anyone reading this expecting to get a love story should look elsewhere. That being said, I’m a huge Omegaverse fan, and I LOVED seeing the dark side of the alphas. Addison has written about some dominant alphas, but these 3 are just plain brutal, and I loved being able to explore the … not so soft side of an alpha!
There is nothing slow burning about this book. You jump right into the action and it picks up right where book 1 left off. If you are looking for a fast, raw, and hot erotic read… This. Is. IT!!
This is the second book of Addison Cain’s new Omega series. To generalize, Wren is a mute omega who makes a deal with the devil to help the people she loves. Although the price is high, she is willing to pay it. She is just hoping to make it out will some of her sanity and dignity intact. Each of the three Alphas is the series are extremely twisted, just in different ways. I’m still unsure of how much I hate said Alphas. I love Wrens character. With each chapter she became more developed as a believable person, who is not afraid to do what is takes to meet her goal, even if she has to sacrifice everything. I also truly hope that Wren will soon get to beat the **** out of those three; or at least draw serious blood. The thing about Addison Cain is, she doesn’t write happy in any traditional sense. She is the type of author that makes you really look at the characters, and still be unable to give them a label of good or bad. Each character is unique and indescribable; constantly being shaped by their environment and back-stories. This is why I read, and will continue to read her books. The book, similar to the authors other works, is haunting, tragic, but still hopeful. A few things to keep in mind are, firstly, this book does not have stereotypical characters. Second, this is not a traditional romance or dark romance, this book is just plain dark. Third, this book will haunt you. I cannot get it out of my head, and I hope the author will release the next book soon.
A while back, I stumbled into this strange place known as the Omegaverse. It is harsh, at times bleak and heartbreaking, but also hotter than Hades! I’m completely addicted to Addison’s tales of the Alphas and the Omega they both torment and treasure. This is the second book in the series and it is enthralling. I crave the next installment of their story. This is the dark romance your mother SHOULD have warned you about.
There had been times in Wren’s life when she had felt anger. This was so much more.
In order to save her adopted boys from certain death Wren, a rare Omega Albino banished to the Warren’s, agrees to move into the Compound of the three Alpha Gangsters that have claimed her body.
We first met Wren, Caspian, Kieran, and Toby in Branded Captive and we all melted in the heat of it… now expect to be burnt in Silent Captive!
Curl up by yourself, light a candle and prepare to be devoured by Addison Cain’s unique and hot story telling!
Wren is still holding on, as strong as she can be given her circumstances. I love omegaverse dark romances, and while this isn’t a romance (yet!), it does give us some more insight into the three men and the development of their “relationship” with Wren. They’re also each differently portrayed, with some emotions and feelings that we get to glimpse. Wren’s love for her boys is what’s keeping her wits about her, and I look forward to the next installment!
Wren’s story continues in this dark sequel. Cain’s stories always wade into the darkest pits and Wren’s story is an exemplary example of her twisted imagination. I can’t wait for the next installment and can’t wait for what awaits her after that ending. Toby, Kieran and Caspian are all sickos and even while I was horrified I. Could. Not. Stop. Reading. I loved it.
Wren’s despair but grim determination to take each moment as it comes even as she is subjected to these psychotic Alphas is mind blowing. Her love for her boys, her dedication to making sure they have a chance at life even if it means submitting to the pychos that control their mud drenched empire is admirable and heart wrenching.
Toby is one sick puppy. I think he might be my new favorite.
Delightfully dark. Ridiculously twisted. Per usual Cain’s dark imaginings are not for the faint of heart.
There is so much to love about Silent Captive! I could go on and on about the worldbuilding! The setting is so unique. A dark, desperate, ugly world that really adds to the atmosphere for a dark story. Unique characters and worlds is what I really love about Addison Cain’s work and it really shines here. Of course, the story is filthy in all the right ways too. She doesn’t hold back! It left me that strange mix of disturbed and satisfied that I’ve come to know and love. And I wouldn’t have it any other way!
This series is really dark and emotional. I cry as I see her try so hard to stay strong for those kids. It is a tough world she has had to survive and the ending really shows what a battle she faces now.
The series is unpredictable and I am not sure where it will go next but am sure it will be emotional and an experience I won’t forget.
I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.
Addison spins a dark world that you cannot put the pages of down. Not for the faint of heart, it those who like dark Omega/Alpha reads will find this the right fit (pun intended after you read).
Poor Wren! I want to hug her. The amount of carp she has gone through is just heart breaking. She knows when to fight and when to submit.
This book did not disappoint as a book 2 and held everything I have come to love from Addison Cain. This book built perfectly from book 1 and gave me so much steam I loved every page!
I was blown away with the second book in this story Wren continues to strive to survive in her current situation. The Alpha Males in this book are super sexy sometimes crazy but good at the same time. I patiently waiting for the next book.
This heroines journey gave me so many emotions and in This book it becomes clear she’s a mother who would do anything for her children while her captors lie and fight what they feel. My suspicion as to what one of them would was confirmed however new revelations and hopes for Wren have this plot thickening making me an anxious reader wanting more.
This follow-up was dark, as to be expected from Addison Cain. There are some unexpected twists and a few turns in this installment. I am looking forward to how it all unfolds in book 3. This book is loaded with anti-hero goodness and I am still hooked into this dystopian world she has thrown us in. A good follow-up to the first book.
Addison Cain straddles the delicate line between enticement of the thrills Alphas can offer and non consensual, gritty, and dark fare. The piece works better if you read it page by page and take the events at face value or as Wren states, “one moment at a time.” This is not a romance. The story begins and ends with Wren covered in filth and mud. The heroine’s a broken thing that can possibly be put together newer and better. Or not, and end up richer in experience and currency. I greatly enjoy the journey. While the story works as one glorious sequence of fantastic romping, glimpses into each Alpha’s psyche was welcome and unsuspecting. For all of Toby’s quirks and Kieran’s mercurial moods, Caspian remains ever elusive apart from his Apex Predator/Alpha Pack Leader role. From beginning to end, the three jostle for favorite male protagonist with flits in and out of their internal struggles for a fun, satisfying read.
The author follows an aggressive publishing schedule and from book one to this one, I remain pleasantly delighted and amused that this has become my new favorite series. It’s not what I’m normally looking for and while I enjoy Omegaverse notions, this one swept me off my feet and left me in a period of retrospection. It’s bleak with high points of sensory overload.
This definitely did not disappoint. Wren was awesome, the sex was hot, and the story was knotty. **snicker** I highly recommend nabbing this!
This book left me completely speechless. Addison takes us to a new world with the darkest characters she has created so far (in my very innocent opinion). The three males are exquisitely and horrible depraved and have decided to make Wren’s life miserable. On the other hand, I couldn’t love Wren more. She is fierce and does anything to protect the people that she loves at the best of her ability. Can’t wait to see what is going to happen next.
heart dropping, suspense, and action. hot as fudge scenes and oh my goodness, how on earth did this author come up with this storyline!? absolutely insane! dark and gut wrenching in an emotional sense. im at a loss for words… this book and plot is just incredible. I just absolutely LOVE how realistic it is for the scenario and situation the author created for this.
