“Way more intense than I was ready for. I couldn’t put this book down!” ★★★★★He claims he loves me. Strokes my cheek and smiles as he promises whatever I desire. But first, I must submit. Not only to him, but to two other virulent and terrible men. That is the bargain the three of them made between themselves. But I never agreed to this. I never agreed to forever.Branded Captive: Wren’s Song Book … I never agreed to forever.
Branded Captive: Wren’s Song Book 1 is a dark, sinister Omegaverse Reverse Harem tale for those with twisted tastes and a love for unabashed bad boys. Complete power exchange dominates these pages, as do THREE smoking-hot Alpha antiheroes.

My friend Addison has a new book out. She’s one of the most creative world-builders out there and an amazing writer and story-teller. I highly recommend her work to those who like to tread on the dark side.
In my personal opinion, this is one of the darker & more sexually intense stories the author has written (although I’ve not yet read anything other than her Alpha’s Claim series, Alpha’s Control series, Wren’s series & The Golden Line), & I don’t think that’s a bad thing, at all.
This book centers on the entire Pack dynamic between Wren & the 3 Pack Alphas: Caspian, Kiernan & Toby, & what a Pack they are. The 1st book centered on the 3 individually interacting w/Wren but this one, WOW! This one focuses on all 3 of the Alphas intensely sexually interacting with Wren in the same night with all of them present.
I suppose some readers may get caught up in the seriously PHYSICALLY INTENSE sexual actions of the Alphas, is it too much, too intense, too dark etc. But, I look at this entire story as 4 people in a hard, lethal, dark world doing what they can to survive & possibly prosper. And Alphas in this world take their pleasure when, where & how THEY want.
In the author’s other series in this world, Sheperd’s field of influence was based on a military type dynamic while Jacques’ was a royalty/nobilty based dynamic. In both worlds although both men did need to prove their Alpha-ness, there were some rules in each of their realms. But in Caspian’s world it’s based on a criminal/warlord dynamic: the only rule being you hold onto your life & what you have by violent means of any kind.
So, to me this book demostrates that Wren is actually stronger than the Aphas, how she is willing & able to do & handle anything to save her ‘boys’. I don’t think any of the Alphas could do what she does to save those she loves.
Throughout the book she is able to see & recognize glimpses into what makes the Alphas they way they are & she has a capacity to adjust her impressions of them based on these insights. But in the book, as in life, these feelings are incremental & are yanked forward & back.
And the Alphas are not unaffected either: as violent, sexual, deviant & remorseless as they are as well as treating women as generic & transitory sex toys & relief to be dominated as they deem fit, Wren’s actions & reactions, her expressions & moods are seeping into them unlike any other woman has before.
I do have to admit my feelings for EACH of the 3 Alphas went back & forth between wishing them GONE to hoping for redemption. I greatly enjoyed this book & found I was drawn into their world, their dynamic & their interactions/relationships. I genuinely cared about the path of each character & I look forward to the next book in the series to see the direction things progress!
>>> PLEASE BE AWARE of the VERY DARK & VERY intensely sexual nature of this book. There is total & complete power exchange between characters. Please read the book description & reviews to determine if it is something you may or may not like. There may be TRIGGERS of different types for some people.
This one is a great book as well, I’ve also read it multiple times. Wren has been taken out of the Warrens to live with the alphas. She doesn’t want to do this and she realizes the role they really want her to play a whore. She accepts it and is doing it to save her boys. However, they can’t see her as a whore, they’re trying but is still not working out. She is being treated rougher and is being hurt by, but it’s only done intentionally by one of the alphas who hates he did it. The other one is just a psycho that doesn’t think he’s doing anything wrong. They are all wrapped around her finger and are still trying to make it about them, but it’s failing
Oh, how much further down this depraved rabbit-hole can poor wren even fall as she is taken and used for these selfish alphas pleasure.
All with there own personal agendas and this one is even dirtier than its predecessor: I definitely need to scrub my eyeballs clean with some bleach after immersing myself in this purely decadent filth and oh my the language used here by our alphas it was so shockingly disgusting but also so hot, horny and heavy too.
This one was definitely not easy reading: it really went above and beyond and at times pushed the boundaries of what I am comfortable with.
A real mental undertaking where to accept this in its entirety you kind of have to throw your own morality compass far out of the window.
I will say it again this series is so not a romance in any shape or form.
This is pure exploitation of an omega who will do anything to protect her boys even at the expense of her own self-respect.
You will most certainly despise Caspian Kieran and Toby I know I did.
Out of the three Toby despite his strange perversions is the one that I am warming to slightly he just seems that touch kinder than the rest of his pack also if sharing and indulging in more than one female is an issue then be warned this story wallows in its filthy mire of sexuality and there is absolutely no shame when it comes to these boys indulging in their baser instincts.
Silent Captive smashed and obliterated my walls dragging me kicking and screaming out of my comfort zone: this is dark dubious consent with a side serving of humiliation and this author just does this so darn well.

These three Alphas aren’t easy to like. They’re aggressive, demanding, selfish and cruel, but they also have (some) flashes of kindness and other good characteristics. Can their characters be redeemed, and will they make up for the way they treat Wren? Based on the author’s other books, I’m confident the author will find a believable way for them to find redemption and some happiness, although YMMV on what that looks like.
And Wren—love this character! She doesn’t break under their pressure. She’ll bend as much as she can so she can keep protecting her adopted boys. She fights when it matters and doesn’t get all dopey and stupid just because some hot guy (or three) can make her scream with pleasure (and a little pain).
As much as I’ve loved other matings in this Omegaverse world, there’s something about Wren’s solid, smart determination and her passion for tinkering, her boys and protecting what’s hers. You’d think that being mute would limit her character, but instead, her POVs show her snarky, challenging, defiant thoughts.
This was a hard installment in this series to read. It definitely does not have an ounce of romance in it just pain, humiliation, lies and manipulation. I realize that this is, I can only assume, the lowest part of the story (series). Most books have a rock bottom where things can only improve from but this is an extreme low for Wren. This part of the story would have had a little less of a negative effect if I could have continued reading the story and seen some hope on the horizon but now we are left hanging with absolutely zero good feelings toward the characters. Honestly for the first time reading an omegaverse book I truly hope these three horrible alphas find a brutal demise. They deserve it.
I finished this in an afternoon, all the while wishing I was in Addison’s head – and kinda glad I wasn’t. This is an incredible view into madness, desire, jealousy, rage… All the feels – except happiness and peace. It’s stupendous and a bit shattering to read.
First off, DON’T read this if you’re squeamish. Or averse to more than the average dose of dubious consent in your books. Don’t read this if you’re expecting a happy ending because there isn’t one. A wise reader will check reviews before they read a book. Be a wise reader instead of an idiot who reads books they won’t like then rates them poorly when they should have known better. I’m putting this on top in the hope that some of the more sensitive readers will see it.
Wren is, and remains, the strongest female character Addison has ever written. While she is bound to some degree by her biology and instincts, she still possesses enough strength to take tiny bits of pleasure when they come her way, grasping them with both hands lest they escape. And when she finally explodes, the damage she inflicts is tremendous. One fault in this is that I would have loved to see that scene from one of the alpha’s POVs. I’m not going to spoil it, but Ms. Cain, if you read this, we want to SEE the alphas hurt, love. Throw us a bone and let us see her clock Caspian and break something important. For this reason alone, I give it four stars instead of five.
Toby… Well, I revise my opinion. I thought he was insane, but he’s not. While he is sociopathic, he has a goal and a clearly set plan to achieve his wants. I almost admire him. Sort of – he still squicks me out. Kieran develops a much more well-fleshed personality in this book, and it’s horrifying. And Caspian? Confused, tortured Caspian. He doesn’t know what he wants any more than Wren does. I’d like to see him develop more. He’s a bit of a ‘whiplash’ character – one never knows what he’ll do in any given scene, and it’s impossible to predict for Wren and the reader.
I love this whole series. The more times you read these books, the more you see. The more you see the characters are deeper than you initially absorb. I can’t tell you how many times I have read this book.
This book is by far the most brutal out of the entire series to date. Very difficult to read at times, but I’m hooked and moved immediately on to the next book.
Wren is taken to Caspian’s lair to serve him and his other two alphas in exchange for keeping her boys safe and healthy. Her boys are her world, but how much can she take?
This alien world is a dark and scary place and the writing is superb.
After all these months, I couldn’t take it anymore and had to beg a friend of mine to loan me her copy so I could find out the next stage of Wren’s story! Raw, brutal, powerful, heart wrenching are just some of the adjectives I can use off the top of my head for what Addison Cain has delivered in this book. The emotional rollercoaster she put me on gave me highs of hope and lows of despair. You know I’m going back to borrow the next book to see what happens, right?
Give me more!
Again, the cover really just doesn’t go with the book. Other than the number of people on it. It gives me Amy Winehouse vibes for some reason. Though the description on this is very accurate.
Literally I devoured this book in hours it seemed. I didn’t think I would get use out of Kindle Unlimited until I found Addison Cain and these books. Wren is certainly something else. This world they live in is completely crazy. And I love it!
Nobody can bring characters alive like Addison Cain does. The characters continue to grow and change for better or worse. The story brings to life a dark underworld that only the strong survive whether their dynami8c is alpha, beta or omega. Alphas rule the world above the mud and below it. Wren thinks she knows the way this world works and surprises us with her mettle. There is nothing so meaner than a mad omega. I am looking forward to the next chapter in Jax’s story.
My heart goes out to Wren…but damn if I don’t love her strength and courage.
This is the second book in the Wren’s Song series, and they must be read in order. Wren will do anything for her boys, Mikael and Alec. And that means doing whatever Alpha Caspian, Kieran, and Toby want her to do in this reverse harem story. RH can be a bit tricky in terms of the male characters’ development but I found they all had distinct personalities. Wren naively believes Caspian will keep his end of the deal-he is powerful but he’s not a good guy! I fluctuated between who I hated more, thought about chucking my Kindle more than once, yelled at Wren, and then cheered when Wren was able to do a bit of damage. This story doesn’t finish here. The battle continues in Broken Captive.
Wren is tragically stuck in the worst dystopian future imaginable & scrwed everywhere she turns. I want to know what happens next…
Boys boys boys, please come to my house
So sexy and twisted. True Master of the Omegaverse
This is a brutal, dark and devistatingly gritty continuation from the first book.
Wren is still trying to do all she can to survive and to keep those she loves alive in a brutal, beasial world which does not hold women in high regard.
The 3 males addiction to her just continues to increase in a violent way – brutal world creats brutal monsters!!
Very compulsive reading – however if any of the aforementioned things are a trigger for you this is not the book for you. However if you like your kink dirty, and brutal you will love this book!
