I enjoyed how Zach and Gabriele met; thru a pen pal exchange while he was on a mission overseas. Lucky for them, they had the advantage of email (I had to wait 5 day for the postal service). Some may read this book and say, “their relationship happened really quick”, but it’s amazing how quickly you can come to know and care about someone thru written correspondence.
Most enjoyable, believable storyline and wonderful characters!
I picked up this paperback book at Committed In Louisville Author Event. The beautiful cover caught my eye and the blurb sold me!
This is a romance story that i sweet and fun but at the same time as you thinking about commitment and the price that servicemen and their families pay
Gabrielle (Ella) Marks ends up with a pen pal when her mother introduces her to the Outreach Mission Program called Letters to Love. She is matched with Lieutenant Zachary “Zack” Sanders who is Navy SEAL. They write to one another and develop a deep friendship When he gets leave she organises to meet him and his son Alec who is cousin Kelly helps him raise. The get on great but then he is sent away on an urgent deployment. While he is gone Ella Alec and Kelly develop a small family unit Then the unthinkable happens and Ella will have to see if she can be the strong woman that Zac is going to need
Gabriele’s mother guilted her into becoming a pen pal to a deployed serviceman. She and Zachary email for a month, finding out how much they have in common. They’ve fallen in love before they have the opportunity to meet in person. And when they finally meet, he’s deployed the next day, and life changes forever for both of them. This is such a beautiful story of friendship and faith. And these two have plenty of both. They also have the support of friends and family, and her bosses are just terrific.

This book starts with a pen pal situation that Gabriele’s mom initiates for a church outreach program for our soldiers. As luck would have it she gets connected with Zachary and they have an instant connection. They have a lot of the same likes and beliefs. When he gets to come home and they agree to meet, they immediately get involved. She meets and falls in love with him and his son. As he was called away for duty she steps up to the plate and is there for them. When tragedy strikes you get to see just how committed she is. To me this was a bitter sweet tale, I can’t say more due to giving the story away. If you like romantic military stories give this a read.
Thanks to her mother, a pen pal will change the course of her life. When Ella start penning to Zack they found they had a lot in common and when they finally met it only sealed the feelings between them. Now they have one day before Zack will be shipped out for his next assignment. Can the fill all of their shared moments in a day and when disaster comes calling, will they have enough stored faith to get them through?
