A fantastic, fast paced, full of drama story. It is extremely well written and has beautifully developed characters. I loved Jenna and Finn together. They have amazing chemistry and personalities that are felt throughout the story. Jenna is sweet and charming while Finn is protective and caring. It is a quick read but oh so beautifully done. This is perfectly readable as a standalone. The flow of the story is wonderful.
I received a copy of this book from BookFunnel and I voluntarily chose to review it. A well written book with wonderful characters. This is the first book by L.C. Taylor but it won’t be my last. This one has some unexpected twists. I don’t do spoilers so get the book and see what I am talking about. This one is worth your time.
Jenna is a school teacher who has moved to Bakersfield after almost dying at the hands of her ex husband Alec, she has made a new friend Becky who introduced her to her friends. One of them being Finn who is a sergeant in the local police force. Finn kisses Jenna after a couple of drinks, but Jenna is scared of starting a new relationship because of what she suffered at the hands of her ex.
On the way home from school she is pulled over by a police car, it turns out to be Finn, he notifies Jenna that both of her tail lights are smashed out. He escorts her to the repair place and takes her home where they discover the broken glass from her car. Not long after that, Finn comes over to see Jenna to discover that two of her tyres have been slashed.
Things start to steam up between Jenna and Finn, but it isn’t until her house is broken into that they fall into bed and tear up the sheets. Then they discover Finns dog stabbed and left on the doorstep not long after that. Things are starting to get more serious with her stalker until something happens at the school. Jenna is saved from near death and Finn and Jenna consolidate their relationship and she moves in with him and they eventually have their happily ever after.
I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and review with my honest and fair opinion.
I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the characters the writing style and the plot. I highly recommend this to others as a very interesting and steamy read .
