The murder of a shared friend leads a high-profile investigator and a psychic into a mystery involving lies, blackmail, BDSM–and into each other’s arms.
Book two in the Men of London series was a little more emotional than I anticipated.
Draven Samuel is a private investigator. His personal background had many complexities and heartbreaking moments. Not in the least bit a man who engages in relationships.
Taylor Abelard is a psychic who has bad dreams and struggles to death with them. Someone close to him may either get hurt or possibly killed How do you deal with that?
Despite their closed off manner, Draven and Taylor will have to let their guards down to make any end roads on a personal level. With so much a stake, can they actually give love and trust a try?
Draven and Taylor were and intriguing couple who played well off one another. The pace was just right. Didn’t seem rushed by any means. Keep in mind, Sights and Sinners is a mystery book in the series. No part retracted from the other.

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. The story of Draven and Taylor both have their own stories, one with pain and one scared to be to close, can they get through their own barriers to see what can be.

Another terrific story in this series. I love the idea of someone having the “sight” the ability to see beyond what we know. This particular story was wrought with emotions. Great characters, both full of their own struggles, so together they complemented each other, after a bit, but they also completed the other. Their relationship was part of the success of this story. They made the story real. The storyline was not just emotional but a compelling story, as well.

Taylor and Draven’s coming together made Sight and Sinners my second-favorite Susan Mac Nicol book after Love and Punishment. Her Tangh-i-ness can speak to the book’s veracity having been present at the transitions of three people whose close loved-ones had to be coaxed into letting them go. And I delighted in the presence of Sister Allison. since I am a Black woman, I appreciate, and prefer positive depictions of Black people whenever they are included in anyone’s Storyverses. I adored Taylor and his gift and his patience with Draven. The delicious sexcapades added not just the icing, but all the filling to this literary cake!

Grab a couple boxes of tissue this one is a sad one. Sight and sinners covers a couple very serious topics. One: Draven is an undercover agent and seen a lot. He has a tough exterior and is hard to get to know. He also likes to fool around and his high libido gets him in a lot of trouble. He also has a family secret that haunts him.
Two: Taylor is a physic but his ability is only linked to people close to him making it worse. When he feels that someone is going to die or get hurt he knows it is someone he is connected to.
At first Draven doesn’t believe in Taylor’s talents but soon he sees firsthand what Taylor can do, but when he finds out Taylor has the answer to a very serious decision he has to make he has trouble dealing with it. Will he take Taylors Message seriously or will it destroy anything between them.
There is a lot of lies, deceit and secrets in this story as well as angst. One thing I like so much about Susan Mac Nichols is that her stories deal with very real issues that can happen to anyone, then are spun into a very strong, powerful story. This story deals with family tragedy, harsh decisions and suicide. She mixes it with sexy men, very hot sex and some mystery and intrigue to take the edge off. Every time I read a new name I couldn’t help but wonder is this the next book?
If you like spies, angst, tearjerkers, not so easy relationships, psychics, fun characters, and very hot man-sex this is for you.

Tragic and Sweet
Draven works for Mortimer Investigations, and the first time he sees Taylor, it’s standing over a dead body – not an auspicious start. This story is more focused on their romantic relationship than the case they’re trying to solve. They both have their own angst to overcome, along with romantic woes. The story’s climax made me cry, but the ending was heartwarming and sweet.

There are depths to Taylor that Draven provides an anchor for. Taylor and Dravon carry heavy luggage with them. Taylor’s gift/curse makes him cautious of getting too close to people. Draven carries a huge emotional load. The wariness, the trust building, the fear, the anguish, the comfort are well developed. There is a heartwrenching tragedy wrapped in a budding romantic partnership. It’s good when you can find a complimentary partner that is a rock and a shoulder. The author took us through the lives of Taylor and Draven that gragged our hearts and didn’t let them go until the end of the story. Well done!
