The land has become unnaturally quiet. It’s as if everyone is waiting for some sign that Xandre can be beaten. That someone will stand up to him, and win. With Shanti calling the shots, and Cayan’s battle know-how, it seems certain that the Chosen can be the catalyst. That they can lead the oppressed to freedom. But Xandre didn’t become the Being Supreme by chance, and he doesn’t intend for his … intend for his rule to be stripped away so easily. He has already started to gather his forces, and with the entire land under his control, gaining a foothold seems impossible.
The final battle is brewing, and the winner is anything but decided…

“Siege” is book five in K.F Breene’s The Warrior Chronicles. Told in multiple POVs. The previous books in the series must be read prior to this.
Having taken back Cayan’s home and rescue it his people from “The Hunter”. Cayan, Shanti along with her people the Shumas, and Sonson with the Shadow People must come up with a plan to take Xandre the Being Supreme down. But no one has any idea where he is and the Shadow People are having trouble getting through the Graygual and Inkan to the Westwood Lands.
Ok that ending was raw… Feeling safe than to have that done is a real kick in the gut.
I have no idea what to say or where to start with this review. So many events and major moments happen that I feel deserve some mentioning, but if I do that will entail me giving away sp*ilers, and that is not fair. You deserve to experience this journey with an open mind and experience each and every twist for yourself.
But I will mention Ms. Breene’s ability to bring us engaging story’s with wonderful characters. This book just like all the others in the series will have you on the edge of your seat biting your nails, turning each and every page with such a hunger for what happens next.
Again the humour and witty banter at the most inappropriate moments will have you laughing so hard whilst the group travel across the land in search for Xandre.
Having the new characters settle in to the group with such ease and fitting in like long lost family members is fantastic.
I can wait to see how the finale is going to turn out, I am rooting for Shanti, Cayan, Rohnan, Sanders, the Honor Guard, The Shuma’s and The Shadow People.
This book is quite possibly KF’s best work so far. As usual she pulls you in with the story and characters just come to a life of their own. You will laugh, cry and fight right along with them.
This was probably the most action packed book of the series. This world that K.F.Breene has created is full of sorrow, ravaged lands, desperate people and the people who are fighting and giving their lives to bring the world back to the beauty it was before! The characters are so diverse with lots of attitude, humor, power in both mind and spirit and above all love for each other. This story is all about fighting for freedom and even though it is not of the world we live in it is full of relatable fears, desires, and shows that anything worth having is worth fighting for! Shanti and Cayan are not just bringing their people together for war but are bringing them together and showing them that no one is alone that stands up and fights! Along with all this K.F. throws in her brand of snark, great one liners and passion! Don’t miss out on this series! Start it now and you will not regret it!!
