Kept me interested from the first page
It was so great to come back to a Sidney Sheldon book after many years.his characters are always understandable and familiar. The actor who read was first rate.
Liked it bery much.
Being a longtime fan of Sydney Sheldon, I was excited to read this book. I assumed by carrying on the legacy of such a prolific writer, I’d get the same Sheldon quailty. However I was slightly disappointed. While the writing was very good it wasn’t great and while the story was entertaining it wasn’t fantastic. I’d say new to this author readers will really enjoy this novel while longtime fans will have to adjust their thinking slightly. Those who frequently read this genre may not get quite the thrill but occasional readers will be entertained. Still very good novel and I’d definitely recommend.
This is the first Sidney Sheldon Book I have read by Tilly Bagshawe. It is a suspenseful thriller and there were a few surprises. However it did not read as quickly as a Sheldon book. There were far too many characters and it dragged on too long. The main character does not have a lot of rooting value and she does manage to put herself in danger needlessly. I liked some of the supporting characters better. It does make a good beach read.
The Silent Widow by Sidney Sheldon; Tilly Bagshawe
Good mystery going on here with many characters some likeable some not (most), there were plenty of murders, drug cartel involvement, Russians, crooked cops and politicians galore! It starts off with a young au pair going missing when in Mexico to a psychologist who loses her husband in a car accident or was it an accident?! You won’t want to miss this book! Thank you Netgalley and the Publishers Crooked Lane for letting me read this ARC and give my opinion!
Two of my favorite authors together. A very entertaining read.
The Silent Widow delivers on suspense and mystery. From page one this story was a pleasant surprise, the writing draws the reader in and keeps you guessing until the end. Lately the mysteries I have chosen have been letting me down but not this book. The cast of characters provides an endless buffet of the creepy and despicable bad guys that could be the culprit. The story twists and turns and the whodunit is not totally unexpected but it definitely takes some doing to get there. The main character is cool in a flawed and believable way. Overall, this book is an excellent read that you do not want life to interrupt (even though that seems to happen way too much). Tilly Bagshawe is a new to me author that I will be looking for lots more of. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

The Silent Widow by Tilly Bagshawe / Sidney Shelton
Nikki Roberts is a psychologist and a patient is murdered, then her assistant. Husband had died in a car accident a year ago, who is the killer really after. Thinking of suicide, when an attempt is on her life, instead hires a PI Derek. A cold case of an au pair before had him baffled. Now the links connect to her husband’s involment. What of the assistant what did she know that caused her death. A sharp plot and guessing how it all connects, and who is really guilty. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion from Net Galley and Crooked Lane Books
