Everything I hoped it would be! I love the storyline and the ending. The Survivor in me absolutely delighted in the justified violence. And the characters… they were so detailed and well-written. I still feel like Dolly and Rabbit are out there, living in their own wicked chaos.
I was waiting very long to finaly grab and read Sick Fux. This year I was a good girl and Santa finally bring me this beauty into my library!
I cannot lie, I knew Sick Fux is a dark romance
HOWEVER this author stole my breath away. She made me crying HARD, but at the same moment made me feel that I’m watching the movie with the most ridiculous dark humor inside.
Some people can say – it’s not a book for everyone, and I agree with that. Sick Fux tested me on so many levels. I felt like I’m crossing my limits, but looking at this book in general ? Every single paige is a masterpiece. This author like no one, knows how to lead us thru the most dark events, but filling our hearts …. with LOVE.
Dolly and Rabbit became one of my fave characters EVER. They are Sick Fux duo and I loved them from the first moment. I’m a good girl, but right now I wanna join their crazy family , very very bad!!!!!!!
Must Read Alert!
I’ll start by saying that I love this book for many reasons, mainly because of the way the characters were worked the story was different and entertaining. We have Heathan and Ellis who both met when they were little and grew up together in a house with Ellis’ “uncles”, Heathan was quite possessive calling Ellis “Dolly” and had sadistic tendencies from a young age, while Ellis was cheerful and very vivacious calling Heathan as “Rabbit” because she loved Alice in Wonderland (x2) and by fate tragedy came and tear them apart. Both suffered too much and it was horrible what they did to Ellis, she was left as a lifeless empty doll that practically did not recognize reality until Rabbit came to save her and both went out to get revenge. I must admit that I was very angry when they were separated and more with what the “uncles” did, but I loved how Tillie put the subject of Alice’s madness in the story and how little by little we realized how damaged was Dolly. It became one of my favorite books, I don’t recommend it to everyone because it is one of Tillie’s strongest books and it’s really DARK, like it’s banned in Amazon so I leave it to your judgment but it really is an incredible book.
5+++
Down the rabbit hole we go. That’s certainly how I felt while reading this book. That I was in an another universe. That I was in some twisted version of Wonderland. Where red is the color that flows freely. Where the great adventure was going on a killing spree throughout Wonderland.
Wow….
Ok… so this book won’t be for everyone. It’s definitely up there in the WTF did I just read factor. But this book has so many things going on. Lots of hell’s no for some people. Like… If blood play is not your thing… then this book is definitely not for you! If playing games with people before they die is not your thing…. then this book is not for you!
This book has so many twists and turns.
I have to say…. I really loved this book! I mean loved it! What Heathan James (Rabbit) & Ellis Earnshaw (Dolly) had to go through as kids. You will justify everything they did in this book.
“We’re going on an adventure, darlin’. Your White Rabbit is here to take you to Wonderland. I found the rabbit hole in this house.”
Both of them never had a chance in Ellis’s house. The bad men preyed on both of them. Took away what little they had of their childhood. I felt for them. For both of them.. It’s was both sad and hard to read what they went through. Living in an alternate universe and creating another world was their coping method.
“We have places to go and people to meet. We have to fulfill our destiny.”
“Looking straight ahead, I said, “I’m ready.” A long deep breath. “Ready for our adventure, in Wonderland.”
It seemed to me that the more kills they had did together…the more savage they became with each other. More rough… it seemed like they were slowly unraveling. By letting small parts of themselves go with each kill. But Rabbit always had one foot in the real world and one foot in Wonderland.
Rabbit and Dolly needed each other to move on with their lives. They needed to make things right. Rabbit gave Dolly her life back. He cherished her in his own messed up way.
This book was crazy! I loved every minute of it. It was a true and twisted love story. Rabbit showed Dolly just how far he was willing to go to make her happy. He brought her back from the darkness. A place she never thought she would get out of. And Dolly gave Rabbit a sort of calm that he never seemed to get by himself.
“Heathan James, you have eaten my heart and drunk my soul. I am yours. I have been consumed by you . . . happily.”
I’m so glad I read his book! And I was able to go on their great big journey with them defeating all the characters of Wonderland.
“I thought of the journey ahead. Thought of the blood we would shed, the hearts we would stop and the lives we would steal. And all the time a smile threatened to grace my lips when I thought of my Dolly beside me, slitting throats, slicing flesh—her tainted blood guiding our revenge.”

Heathen and Ellis’ story is a deep dark rabbit hole to which only those strong of mind and soul should go down. This is not for someone who can be triggered by heavy sexual child abuse, if this will be an issue do not start this novel just to DNF and complain. Readers with sexual trauma may experience the same sick feelings or even desire for vengeance during this novel. You have been warned. That being said, this is a story about retribution and vengeance. For our main characters, mental castles are erected and are so glorious that all else means little in the hearts and eyes of Heathen and Ellis. Knowing each other only as Rabbit and Dolly, because who they were is no longer important. Destroying the evil of Wonderland is what will restore life. Repressed trauma is in memories from both is quite frequently described in vivid detail. But, the battle to overcome has one gasping in awe and pride for Rabbit and Dolly. This is a love that breaks through barriers, ” I knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that if she died, I would surely follow. There was no Rabbit Without Dolly. There was no Dolly without Rabbit.” Love to stand the hardest tests. But, surprisingly and definitely something that had me bubbling with glee was the Mad Hatter and his newly found words, “As I ran, I fixed my hat back on my head and thought, The Mad Hatter. After all this time. . .
. . . finally.”
Sick Fux – Tillie Cole
I sucked in a deep breath and straightened. Looking down at Dolly, I took my watch from my pocket, and raise it to my ear and announced, “Tick Tock”.
Her eye shown. She lifted her gun and stroked the engraved barrel. “Time for tea“.
Whew!!! This took me days to read! Not because it was lacking or boring or anything.. it was just emotionally hard!! Tillie Cole packs an emotional punch in this book, that’s for sure.
My warped brain tends to put my own children in the position of children in books I read… I don’t want too.. but my brain can’t help but go there and THATS what got me crying over this book. This book man.. where do I began?
Alice and Rabbit were dealt a really horrible deck of cards in life. Child sex trafficking, rape.. the pure brutality of these two characters childhood was devastating and it forever changed Alice and Rabbit mentally. Ugh. The feels I felt for these two as they weave their way through revenge.
“Train me, rabbit. Train me to destroy the bad men who hurt my friend Ellis. Teach me to make blood dripped down their faces, to their feet into the floor…
teach me to kill. Teach me to kill them all”
I don’t think I anticipated this book to be an emotional one. But I couldn’t help it.
I’m sensitive to children and animal abuse.
I knew this book was dark. And it is.
It’s beautifully written and in a twisted way, it’s a love story of two VERY twisted and depraved characters. But you understand why they are the way they are. And you can’t help but root for them and justify their actions.
“Non-killers, I thought. So fucking boring, living there mundane little lives.”
“I smiled at all the blood yet to come.
Carnage: courtesy of the Sick Fux”
This is a love story. I mean, it really is. Rabbit and Dolly truly love each other. They bind each others souls as one and they truly are meant for each other. They heal each other. It’s quite fascinating and romantic in a insane way how devoted Rabbit was throughout this book to his Dolly Darlin’.
Did this book make me ugly cry? Not until I read this tiny snippet at the end of the book. Coming from the boy who just wanted to belong. Oh my god I fucking cried so bad.
“As I ran, I fixed my hat in my head and thought, The Mad Hatter, After all this time ….
…. finally.”

I LOVED this story. I have read twisted books before. But nothing like this story. This story really had some dark times. I fell in love with the characters.
I have never read a book by Tillie Cole until I picked up Sick Fux. I saw it all over the book community recently and even heard it was banned. That did it for me. I didn’t care much about the synopsis. I saw it was banned therefore I must have it. The second I picked up Rabbit and Dolly’s story I was consumed. I read this book within less than a day and was left reeling. I haven’t had a book hangover this rough in months.
The blatant Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland references and the darkness attached to them had me on the edge of my seat for a wild, sickening, and destructive ride. This book pushed so many boundaries and I was here for it. Despite the obvious lack of a moral compass possessed by Rabbit and his ability to lead Dolly anywhere, I had a huge soft spot for him. Though their actions may be justified, Rabbit and Dolly partake in an Alice in Wonderland version of Bonnie and Clyde, complete with vicious deaths and a love so deep for one another they are willing to die to protect it.
To the very end I was anxious, heartbroken, and ready to scream for Rabbit and Dolly’s sickeningly f’ed up HEA. Tillie Cole broke me in this one, and I couldn’t be happier about it.
This book is not for the faint of heart. There are many triggers and disturbing scenes. Readers beware (and enjoy)!
Y’all Tillie Cole slays dark romance Sick Fux is fab! It’s dark, twisted, and amazing all at once!I l read it in one sitting! I loved Rabbit. He loved his Dolly something fierce and would do anything to make her happy. It was lovey in a fucked up dark kind of way. Go read this book and join the tea party!
This is one of those books where the title is your warning. I mean Sick Fux does not suggest a trip to Disneyland. If you have any triggers this book is not for you.
This will probably be the darkest, most twisted, most fucked up book you will ever read. I’m guessing there will be a few curious kitty wanting to read to find out how fucked up it is.
You have been warned!!!!
I’m shocked, disturbed, sicken, disgusted I’m going to need therapy after this. I will admit I was curious to see how dark TC would go. If she was to do another story and say it’s worse than this I will not be reading it.
As fucked up as this is it’s still cleverly written but I will not be going down the rabbit hole if there is a next book or further books darker than this. She has definitely pushed my limits here.
I will say I loved Dolly and Rabbit and the revenge they took, motherfucker deserved so much worse, irony they were calling these two the Sick Fux. Bitter sweet revenge wins everytime. After all the horrible things that happened to the both of them I loved the ending, vigilante for abused children. These two were not born this way they were made this way
When you’re craving that walk down the dark road— read this. Incredible character development and the author’s skill at weaving the perfect, twisted world was reminisced of the Alice in Wonderland Ellis so coveted. This is black, harsh, and yet so devastatingly amazing. I don’t know what else to say. You’ll be broken. But so beautifully.
Talk about a dark and twisted tumble down the rabbit hole! I love my dark reads and this book was beyond any expectations I could ever have and left me speechless. Rabbit and Dolly might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I absolutely loved them. The way their friendship flourished and how they were each drawn to one another like a moth to flame kept me hoping against hope that these two would find their own Wonderland. Their vengeful and gutwrenching journey kept me on the edge of my seat constantly anticipating what lay ahead next. Rabbit and Dolly’s story isn’t an easy read by any means but if you love dark and gritty reads that make your mind spin then this may be just the book for you.
I’ve read tons of dark romances, but this one is purely black. The book contained violence, taboo subjects, and disturbing scenes. Ellis and Heathan’s actual act of revenge was brutally violent and creative which I’m not a huge fan of. Somehow, Dolly and Rabbit just captured my attention and help me move passed all of that and continue the story. I just couldn’t stop reading because their tragic back story and intense connection pulled me in. Just a friendly reminder, be brave and prepare if you want to get on this crazy ride down the rabbit hole.
This book is a freaking masterpiece blend of insane, vile, terrible, and beautiful…I need more of her books. The main characters in this book make the joker and harley quinn look like pillars of sanity in comparison. This is a VERY VERY DARK retelling of Alice in Wonderland, in a way. You’ll know what I mean when you pick it up and I definitely recommend that you do read this just be warned…it is incredibly dark and will hold some extreme triggers for some. 5 stars and definitely 2 thumbs way up.
And down the rabbit hole we go!
Nobody wants Heathan James – except little Ellis Earnshaw. Ellis was the light to Heathan’s darkness. She was so pure and innocent. Heathan swore that he would always keep Ellis that way – happy and oblivious. But he failed. They locked him away from Ellis and left him to rot.
It’s been eleven years since he failed little Ellis Earnshaw. After all those years, she still is his light. He escaped so that he could rescue Ellis and get revenge on the ones that hurt them. But when he comes back to the Earnshaw home, he doesn’t find Ellis. Heathan finds Dolly. That’s okay with him; he rather be Rabbit anyway.
Silly Rabbit.
Dolly Darlin’
I have read a ton of reviews regarding this book. It seems that most people either hate it or love it; but one thing every review has in common is that they are all extremely vague. I actually read a few reviews that suggest that you should go into this book blind. I disagree. Let’s talk about some things I wish I knew before jumping into this novel, shall we?
1. This book is wickedly dark. Tillie did include a stern warning that this book dabbles in some intense situations in explicit detail. But dumb me just thought it was like all the other dark romances I have read. I was wrong. I am not easily triggered, but damn did this book really pull my trigger. It is a known fact that Tillie likes to put her MCs through some shit, but she outdid herself with Rabbit and Dolly. They have experienced it all. And because they have been through hell, they are mentally-unstable. It was very unsettling to be placed into their shoes. There were times that I could not believe what I was reading. While it was brilliantly written, it was just too detailed at certain points. I found myself cringing on multiple occasions.
My advice: Avoid this book if you are sensitive to abuse – emotional, sexual, and physical. Avoid this book if you are sensitive to child abuse and/or infant loss. Avoid this book if you are sensitive to self-harm and/or bloodlust. If you think you can stomach the above, then give this book a shot, because it is a good book. Yes, it is difficult to read at times but it is a good gory read. Which leads me to:
2. I don’t feel like this should be advertised as a dark romance. To me, this was a straight up physiological horror novel. It is not your average mafia boss, badass biker, or alpha Dom dark romance. I have read books about Stockholm syndrome that have been more romantic than this book. There are explicit sex scenes in this book, but it’s not appealing. I was actually really, really uncomfortable reading these scenes. Plus, Dolly was really effed-up. Tillie reassures the reader that the act was consensual, but one could argue that Dolly was too unstable to make those decisions. On top of that, they would have flashbacks to very unpleasant memories during sex. Just because a book or film has vivid/detailed sex scenes doesn’t mean it falls strictly within the romance genre.
So, please take the whole ‘dark romance’ thing lightly – unless you are into this type of thing. You know, repeating phrases bad men said to you while you are in the heat of passion with your lover or slicing up your lover to satisfy your bloodlust and drinking from them like a water fountain. *shudders* In my opinion, Dracula is more romantic than this.
Rabbit and Dolly are like a darker Joker and Harley Quinn. If that intrigues you then maybe you should check out this book. Rabbit manipulates Dolly in the beginning just like Joker did Harley Quinn. Even though Rabbit does this to make Dolly happy, it is ultimately wrong and disturbing. He creates a Wonderland for his beloved to justify the need to get revenge on the Queen of Hearts, Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, Jabberwock, and the King of Hearts. I did really like the concept of the whole Joker/Harley Quinn meets Alice in Wonderland. Super creative.
So the burning question remains: did I like this book?
Honestly, I don’t know. For me, it was difficult to read. Some scenes were horrific while others were just cringy. It wasn’t bad writing or anything of that matter, its just difficult to be put in the mindset of the mentally ill. It really struck a chord with me. Once again, it is a good book. I just don’t think I could handle reading it again as I barely made it through it once. With all of that being said, I am not going to rate this book. I am definitely not putting in into any categories – especially not dark romance. Tillie got me with this one guys. I’m stumped.
Blog
Let me start out by saying there are some very rough and dark subjects crossed in this book. Triggers galore for some of those that have sensitivities.
Heathen “Rabbit” is a natural born killer. Ellis “Dolly” is the girl that brought light to his darkness. He vowed to protect her when they were kids, but when he killed to protect her – they sent him away. In return, she was hurt….repeatedly and went into catatonic state.
Rabbit was able to return 11 years later and he rescued his Dolly. He brought her back to the light, after knowing nothing but darkness for such a long time. Then they went on adventure – raining such sweet, vicious revenge on the men that caused the both of them all the pain and torture.
This book tore me apart and I do mean tore me to pieces. But, it rebuilt me as well. The revenge that was taken, the love between Rabbit and Dolly. It all fit perfectly in this eff’ed up Wonderland that Tillie built. She blew my mind with this book. Her writing skills just blew me away. I was left speechless when I finished this story. My heart and soul put thru the ringer, I swear I could taste bile coming up at some parts of the story – but I had to keep reading, I had to see Rabbit and Dolly’s happily ever after and it was so uplifting. I don’t regret buying this book at all and I will be reading more of her works.
Tick Tock, Tick Tock. Holy Shit. This book is dark, raw and insanely hard too put down. I absolutely love Tillie’s version of Alice in Wonderland. It’s hard too say I love this book because what happened to Heathen & Ellis but I absolutely love this book. Heathen & Ellis has such an amazing bond even when they were children. Truly a fuxed up read that everyone truly needs to read. This book is truly mad and I absolutely loved it.
4.5 Tick Tock Stars!!!
***Warning*** This book is DARK. If you have any triggers what so ever, step away from this book now. It’s a dark lovers book completely. Nothing held back in this book.
Goodness gracious what a read. Grab yourself a cup of Tea and sit back. This is one Sick Fux read!!! The first couple chapters where devastating to read.
Ellis Earnshaw and Heathan James met, there was an instant attraction that pulled these two together. The sweet, loving, caring, innocent little Ellis saw the darkness surrounding Heathan. Piqued by his dark clothing, his love for insects (not) drew Ellis to the new boy. She wanted to become friends with him. Putting her best friend on the back burner to pursue the friendship with Heathan.
Its a dark scary environment these two are brought up in. One that once you enter, you are never leaving alive. Ellis is being raised by her father and her ‘uncles’. They are very bad men, all of them. What Ellis (Dolly) and Heathan (Rabbit) encounter living here is sickening!
The years have past and now its time for revenge. Dolly and Rabbit are out for some serious revenge!! Tick Tock the time is now. Will these two accomplish their mission of death to all the playing cards or will they fall through the rabbit hole and never return?
Loved the Alice in Wonderland theme in this book. Although at times, the repetition of the theme became alittle too much. The writing is superb and the storyline totally unique. Totally enjoyed reading this little adventure!
This was some pretty wacky and messed-up s…! When I wasn’t insane with anger right alongside this unique couple, I was laughing and in tears. They endured more than anyone should have to, more than you could ever imagine and I wanted to seriously hurt some old dudes and make them pay myself. I loved the Wonderland theme, it created a vibe that followed through from start to finish and I truly felt for Dolly and Rabbit, they deserve all the revenge they can get! Definitely not to be missed if you love to read about the darker side of humanity and a touch of madness in your pages.
Tick tock. Tick tock. This book just got curiouser and curiouser. What a dark, twisted crazy ride. I loved this thrilling, raw, stylized take on Alice in Wonderland. The storyline was done perfectly. It flowed fast and smooth and had me holding my breath wondering what would happen next. I loved Dolly and Rabbit. They were perfect for each other. I went from being heartbroken and crying for their brutal childhood, to celebrating their savage triumph in adulthood. The villains in this story were created perfectly. I hated them and wanted vindication for their horrific crimes. This was my first Tillie Cole book and I will definitely be reading more!
