Buying a cult compound to build a tiny town? Piece of cake. Being one of the suckers who falls in love on TV? Hell, no.Lucky for me, I found a CFO who shares my urge to skip the mating game part of my family’s social experiment and reality show. Vanessa and I can cast the cops, teachers, and nurses needed for a self-contained community, and leave the dating mess to my siblings.Easier said than … siblings.
Easier said than done. Vanessa’s smart and funny and hot as hell, and for once I can’t focus on running the show. Somewhere between a sexy waterslide ride and adopting dog, we share a helluva lot more than spreadsheets. The only thing riskier is realizing someone’s out to destroy our project before it’s off the ground.
How do I save the business, protect my family, and keep my hands off the sexy CFO?
For once, I’m not sure I’ve got it all under control.

This is just a delightful story. The best thing in here are all the quirky and wonderful characters. The story rolls out nicely but gets stalled out in the middle then the ending it takes off like a rocket again.
Dean is a controlling guy. I get it. He is the oldest of the family. That instills a take charge and take care attitude. It roll over Into his personal and business life. I really like watching him change over the course of the book. Valerie didn’t do a lot for me. She just seemed to be the opposite and the same as Dean. I did like that she brought a smile to his face.
His brothers and sisters as well as the others we met really add to the story. I think each of these siblings will have a great story to tell. They are the same yet very different.
I did listen to this on audio. Sebastian York and Emma Wilder are the narrators. Each are wonderful in here.

Show Time is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed listening to it and will be reading more from her.

Dean and his family have purchased a property and are running with a concept to turn the property into a community and making it a reality show. Vanessa joins the community as the CFO and right from the beginning there is chemistry between Dean and Vanessa. They try to ignore their attraction to each other but it is just too strong.

This was an interesting combination of romantic comedy and suspense with a forbidden element. The chemistry between Dean and Vanessa was undeniable from the beginning and the tension became thick leading up to them giving in. I can not wait to see how this series plays out.

Sebastian York and Emma Wilder did a great job of bringing the story and characters to life and making it feel like you are part of the story.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Dean and Vanessa’s story. I adore the concept of the Juniper Ridge community and reality TV series. It is so creative! This book is written in first person from a dual POV.
I love that Dean and Vanessa are both successful, committed to moving on with their careers, and not pursuing relationships. It doesn’t really work out that way though. They are drawn together by instant attraction. The physical connection is strong bot the mutual respect and admiration is what really makes it impossible to resist each other. I love the humor, the heat, and the family relationships in this book. The Judson’s have pulled me in and I need to know them more. I love Vanessa’s connection with her twin Valerie. I appreciate that there is a mystery that is revealed. There are so many interesting characters and possibilities. I think this is a fantastic set up for the series and I cannot wait to read more.
Fun new series! I loved the storyline and enjoyed Dean and Vanessa’s story. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Juniper Ridge!
Bust a gut laugh out loud many times during this book. This is my first read by this author and I can’t wait to read her again. The initial interview scene has a bunch of innuendos and is hilarious, then the parking lot with the snake, the negotiation dinner scene, then the mispronunciations of various words, not just once, but a few separate times, and the eyebrows! Her fascination with Dean’s hands makes me melt every time she thinks it. There are loads of ways that this series can go with all the wonder characters that are introduced in this first chapter. It can only get better. Absolutely panty melting with the sharing of what’s in Dean’s box with Vanessa. Definitely recommend.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
New to me author here and I can’t wait to discover more! Sebastian York and Emma Wilder are perfection on the ears as usual
4.5 Stars for Show Time (Juniper Ridge Romantic Comedies #1)
Audio Review
Tawna Fenske is a new author to me but after listening to Show Time I will certainly be checking out other books by this very talented author. Emma Wilder and Sebastian York did a wonderful job bringing the characters and the story to life, the banter was witty and it flowed so naturally and the chemistry was sizzling and intense.
Dean and Vanessa are both trying to put their lives back together after broken relationships and neither are looking for love but sometimes love happens when we least expect it. The past has put these two on edge and as they get to know each other they both realise together they can built a wonderful future.
This is a fun, quirky, entertaining book with the perfect mix of mystery, suspense and humour, the narration adds another level to what is a extremely funny read. This is book one in the new Juniper Ridge Series and I’m excited to see where we are taken with the next instalment. A story that ticked my boxes, I loved the witty banter, I fanned myself at the sizzling chemistry and I was left smiling like a Cheshire Cat so all in all I loved the story and the narration.
Dean and Venessa – Audiobook Review
I want to go to Juniper Ridge! I thought the concept of this book was different and really cool. Dean and Venessa’s chemistry was off the charts even they they both swore off relationships. I loved their funny banter back and forth as well as the banter with the Judson clan. This was a funny, swoon-worthy romance that I really loved. I also enjoyed the mystery that was part of the story. The rest of the Judson characters were awesome and I can’t wait for the next books to see what happens in their life. The narration is fantastic. Sebastian York and Emma Wilder are always on my list of must listen narrators.
I am definitely a big fan of Tawna Fenske, and I always find her romances to be witty, well-written and entertaining. Show Time was exactly that, and I was so satisfied. I can’t wait for more in this series.
Vanessa and Dean are off the charts hot. They have an instant connection and attraction, and they are utterly adorable as they try to resist it and just can’t. Vanessa is the new CFO, and Dean is the new CEO, of a reality show resort where they will have their lives videotaped and out there for public consumption. They both are trying so hard to “do the right thing” and keep their relationship profession, but they simply can’t deny their chemistry, and frankly, they both deserve a lasting love and good emotional, supportive connection. They’re a great pair.
Add the rest of the Judson family (cannot wait to get their stories), and an adorable adopted dog, Roughneck, and you have a formula for success. If you like rom-com series of standalones with interconnected characters and side characters that you absolutely adore, this is for you. Just like Fenske’s Pondarosa Resort series, you’ll want to read them all (but unfortunately only the first is out now – and I can’t wait for the rest!).
The narration, by Sebastian York and Emma Wilder, is fantastic. Sebastian always does a great job of capturing the humor in a wry, dry way that makes you really feel like you are in the male leads head and living in his innermost thoughts. Emma is one of the absolute best narrators out there, and she brings so much enthusiasm and life to the characters she portrays. They both are fantastic with humorous elements and emotional elements, and they are a very potent combination. Can’t go wrong with them.
4 stars!
AUDIO REVIEW
Show Time is the first book in Tawna Fenske’s new series, Juniper Ridge. This was my first book by this author and it most definitely will not be my last. I adored it. What a unique concept and storyline. A family from Hollywood purchases a former cult compound to film a reality show that will feature a self-contained community.
Dean, narrated by the incredibly talented Sebastian York is the CEO of the company and the oldest sibling. He is used to being in charge, a bit over-bearing and a fixer. He prides himself on being able to take care of his loved ones.
Vanessa, narrated by the ever fabulous Emma Wilder has been hired as the CFO of the company and has relocated for the job. She is a strong, independent woman with a heart of gold. She has some fears that made her seem very real and relatable.
From the very beginning Dean and Vanessa exude chemistry. There is a forbidden element here due to the fact he is the CEO and she is the CFO. This added a touch of push and pull to the storyline but before long the two cannot deny their chemistry and attraction to one another. I loved their banter and passion. I loved that Vanessa kept Dean in check with her independence and his need to fix things without talking to her. These two were the PERFECT couple. I laughed out loud too many times to count and adored the sweet, tender moments as well. I knew going into this that I would be getting a rom-com but what surprised me was the element of mystery and suspense that was added in as well. It kept me engaged and not wanting to stop listening from start to finish.
As always the narrators chosen were perfect. Sebastian York has a sexy tone that I can never get enough of and Emma Wilder does an incredible job infusing passion and emotion in her voice. Both stellar performances!
Note: I received an advanced listener copy from Piece of Cake Audiobooks in exchange of honest review.
Tawna Fenske is a new author to me, and I must say I was initially drawn by the synopsis and the narrators, Sebastian York and Emma Wilder, two of my favourites. That said I was impressed by the story and the characters. I wasn’t immediately drawn in, it did in fact take me a few chapters to fully understand what was happening, and once it clicked I couldn’t get enough of Dean Judson and Vanessa Vincent. I was invested in their story from the moment Dean interviewed Vanessa for the role of CFO, and they just clicked. The affinity between them was true, their rapport was natural, and add in the fact that their chemistry was palpable, and I knew I was going to love them. Oh, and they’re both ‘dog people’, so yeh, I’m a fan. The story was a bit of a whodunnit, and we were kept on our toes throughout. Lots of suspense within the compound as they trie to decipher who is responsible for the strange goings on, and why this family are being targeted. A sweet, fun and romantic suspense that definitely lends itself to audio.
Wow, what an exciting, funny, and steamy romance! This is my first book by Fenske and she captured my imagination with this crazy concept right from the start. She set up this series beautifully, helping us to get to know all the Judson siblings who are in charge of creating and running this reality tv community. This story is filled with rich characters, an exciting and heartfelt storyline, fun banter, and lots of steam. It starts with the oldest brother Dean who feels the need to take care of everyone, not taking time to enjoy his own life, until he hires CFO, Vanessa Vincent. She is smart and funny, and the sparks between them ignite immediately. They both live on the compound and can’t stay away from each other. When mysterious things start to happen, Dean tries to take care of it of his own at the risk of pushing Vanessa away. This entertaining story is brought to life beautifully by Sebastian York, and Emma Wilder. They made me laugh, swoon and cheer for Dean and Vanessa’s HEA. I had fun listening to this fast paced, exciting, hilarious, and steamy story and can’t wait for more from Juniper Ridge!
Audiobook Review: Show Time (Juniper Ridge #1) by Tawna Fenske, Narrated by Sebastian York & Emma Wilder
Fenske makes it easy to fall heart deep, rather quickly. Show Time blends trademark humor with irresistible emotion and steals away with your heart. Count on Fenske to prove slightly off center can be a perfect fit. Wilder and York are showstoppers with their unpredictable, over the top, unforgettable delivery of Vanessa and Dean. Falling in love has never been so chaotic.
4 star Review Show Time (Juniper Ridge Romantic Comedies #1) by Tawna Fenske
Tawna Fenske is a new author to me and I have no idea how I have not come across her before. From start to finish I was captivated by this quirky and rather unique story line.
This is book one in her latest series and she is off to a good start with Show Time. This was an entertaining read that drew me in and had me invested from the first to the last chapter. I really liked Dean and Vanessa.
The chemistry between them is intense and you could feel it sizzling any time they were together. The banter and camaraderie between Dean and his siblings was laugh out loud at times and added to my enjoyment of the story.
There was was some mystery, suspense and intrigue which added to the story. This was a fun, light hearted read with characters that you cannot help but become invested in and I am excited to read more in this series.
I received an ALC of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review. Juniper Ridge is an interesting concept that is the perfect setting for great stories and shenanigans aplenty! In this first book Dean & Vanessa unexpectedly find themselves tiptoeing around that fine line when there is an uncontrollable attraction and undeniable connection between the boss and the CFO. The chemistry is sizzling, but the way they seamlessly relate to each other is beautiful. They learn to trust again, to let go of some baggage, and to even have fun. There is an underlying mystery to this story that adds another layer to budding romance. The Judson siblings and various other characters introduced in and around the town are also interesting and I look forward to more books in the series to see how this social experiment progresses.
Sebastian York and Emma Wilder are excellent performers who bring this book to life. They are two of my favorite narrators for very good reason!
I literally laughed out loud many times listening to this book. Emma Wilder & Sebastian York do a phenomenal job narrating this story and bringing the characters to life. Talk about a page turner & one that has ALL the feels! The characters are so well written & relatable. I LOVED everything about this book; the banter, the sweet swoon-worthy moments, and the suspense with the hacker. This is my first book by Tawne Fenske and I was completely engrossed. I pre-ordered book #2 in the Juniper Ridge series…March 2021 can’t come soon enough lol. I was given an advance copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Little Dog Press for the ALC. I volunteered to leave an unbiased review. All opinions are my own. I love Sebastian York and Emma Wilder. Both separately and together, anything they narrate goes on my wish list. This was my first book by this author but I’m incredibly intrigued to try more. This is the story of Dean and Vanessa. They are CEO and CFO respectively of a new “town being set up as part of a new reality show. This was small town adorable mixed with office raunchy. I love all the side characters and really want to read their stories if they get them. This was a whole lot of fun and the audio is top notch.
This was my first Tawna Fenske’s book, and won’t be my last. This is the first book in the Juniper Ridge Series. Dean and Vanessa’s story is hilarious, sweet, sexy, and intriguing. They are perfect together, and they share and instant attraction and a sizzling chemistry. The storyline has an original concept, set up in the Juniper Ridge Village, a new reality show city. The pace is great, and captivating. The supporting characters are impressive! I like the Judson family and Dean’s siblings: Mari, Lana, Lauren, Gabe, and Cooper. Colleen, Patti, and Amy are great supporting characters. Sebastian York and Emma Wilder did a wonderful job with the narration. I love these series with intertwined characters, and I am looking forward to listen to the next installment in the Series, Let It Snow, Mari’s story.

****4.5 Stars****
I absolutely loved Show Time and I’m so happy that I chose to listen to the advanced copy instead of reading. It was really like a performance and I thought Emma Wilder and Sebastian York did a marvellous job. Their comedic timing, the pitch, pace and tone made the characters come to life and I was forever trying to cover my laughs while out on my morning walk. The coffee scene at the beginning was a crack up and one of my favourites because I knew the disaster that was brewing.
I am the least controlling person in the world (slight exaggeration) and I will happily hand over the reins to anyone (well, possibly not anyone but nearly anyone) who puts their hand up. So, I found it a little hard to relate to Vanessa but absolutely LOVED Dean. Don’t get me wrong, I really admired Vanessa’s character and loved her strength and sense of humour. I understood completely why she felt the need to control her life after dealing with her mother and ex-boyfriends. I’m just one of those people who doesn’t particularly like to ‘take control’ of situations and I would happily hand it over to Dean…with a big smile on my face.
Both Dean and Vanessa are recovering from broken relationships. It doesn’t take long to ‘see’ that Dean had been trying to have a ‘love story’ with the wrong person. He even admits that he didn’t put in the effort and realised after meeting Vanessa that his previous relationship would never have worked. With Vanessa, it’s obvious that she kept picking partners that were controlling like her mother. I loved that she wouldn’t put up with Dean’s controlling ways. But, I loved it more that Dean was willing to change his controlling ways for Vanessa.
The dynamics of Show Time, the multiple characters including Vanessa and Dean’s siblings, the love story, and the narrators’ performances, made this a very satisfying listen. I found the concept of using an abandoned cult compound … waterslide included, an interesting setting for a reality tv show. I loved getting to know Dean’s siblings and their very individual and quirky traits. The connection between Dean and Vanessa was obvious and their intimate scenes were easy to listen to, unlike other audiobooks I’ve previously listened to. Again, I have to commend the narrators’ performances. They were the perfect choice to bring Tawna Fenske’s, Show Time to life.
I really enjoyed the first instalment of the Juniper Ridge series and I will definitely be back for more in the future.
P.S. Funny story … Emma Wilder does such a convincing male voice that I actually had to check to see if there were three narrators. I’m still not completely convinced she doesn’t sneak a bloke into the recording studio with her…

Juniper Ridge Romantic Comedies
By: Tawna Fenske
Narrated by: Sebastian York, Emma Wilder
Welcome to Juniper Ridge, Oregon where a cult once resided. Now the land has been purchased by the Judson family in hopes of making a contained city into a reality show. In order to start the process, they Dean, the CEO needs to his a financial officer. Vanessa is perfect for the job and even before she accepts the position is alerted to some security breeches. Now as the family continues their path to start the show, the danger increases and the relationship between Dean and Vanessa deepens. What a fun start to this series! I am intrigued with the idea of the show and can’t wait for more to happen. Getting to know the Judson’s is fun, from stories of Lana as a child to the protectiveness of Dean over all of his siblings. Each has their own niche which creates a unity striving for the same goal. That’s not to say there isn’t some sibling rivalry. Dean and Vanessa are meant to be. Their water slide scene had me giggling as I listened! And the suspense angle just added to their love story. I enjoyed getting to know them and hope to continue seeing where this show will go.
You can’t get better narration than Sebastian York and Emma Wilder. These two seasoned performers are well suited for their roles. York has that protective sound perfected as a big brother and a boyfriend. Wilder gives Vanessa her all, letting her be clumsy or scared but never losing that confidence. They are audible entertainment at it’s best.
