Buying a cult compound to build a tiny town? Piece of cake. Being one of the suckers who falls in love on TV? Hell, no.Lucky for me, I found a CFO who shares my urge to skip the mating game part of my family’s social experiment and reality show. Vanessa and I can cast the cops, teachers, and nurses needed for a self-contained community, and leave the dating mess to my siblings.Easier said than … siblings.
Easier said than done. Vanessa’s smart and funny and hot as hell, and for once I can’t focus on running the show. Somewhere between a sexy waterslide ride and adopting dog, we share a helluva lot more than spreadsheets. The only thing riskier is realizing someone’s out to destroy our project before it’s off the ground.
How do I save the business, protect my family, and keep my hands off the sexy CFO?
For once, I’m not sure I’ve got it all under control.

This was a fabulous first book in a new series. I know when I pick up a romantic comedy from Tawna Fenske I will not be disappointed. This one even had the added bonus of a little whodunit included. I pretty much had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading this book, which by the way I don’t think I put down once I started reading it. It was that good!
I loved both Dean and Vanessa from the moment I met them. These were two people that did not want a relationship because of past troubles and yet there was an undeniable attraction. I loved every interaction these two had, some had me chuckling and some had me fanning my kindle to cool it down.
I loved meeting all of Dean’s family and I must admit I am excited for each and every one of them to have their own book. I am very excited for this new series and if you have read any other series by Tawna you will love this new one too.
Dean and Vanessa were a really fun couple to read about.
Right off the bat, I loved the chemistry these to had. I’m not taking exclusively about the romantic chemistry(more on that later). I liked their working chemistry. I feel like these two are a force to be reckoned with and will make things happen. They both could see the clear picture on what they wanted to happen and how to finance things. This was a real treat.
Now lets talk about the physical chemistry. This was off the charts. I loved their first meeting of him trying to “kill” her with the coffee, to their waterside fun time to quiet nights out in the woods. These two were just explosive.
I also liked that not only was this a romance, it also had a little “who done it” sort of vibe. I liked that they were trying to figure out who the target was and at times that changed. I liked that it brought out the togetherness and protectiveness in not only dean but all of them siblings included.
I can’t wait to read more about this series.
Excellent start to this new spin-off series!
The first Juniper Ridge story features two main characters you might have met before, namely in “Mancandy Crush” (Vanessa) and Snowbound Squeeze (Dean).
“He’s an overbearing son-of-a-b**** but he’s good at his job. Also, we love him.”
Yes, we most certainly do… In some ways, control freak Dean reminds me a bit of James Bracelyn – which is not a bad thing since James is probably my favorite Bracelyn (if there is such a thing as a favorite Bracelyn, anyway).
“Never f— with a woman who has a handbag the size of Alaska,” she snarls at Andrea. “Or a woman with zero f—- left to give.”
I wouldn’t dream of messing (I paraphrase…) with Vanessa, as she is a great heroine, capable, strong, hilarious, and the perfect match for Dean.
But the character who not only stole the show but my heart is Roughneck, hands-down. Oh, my heart! <3
I loved this book so much, and I can't wait to read more about the rest of the Judson clan!
So excited to read the first episode in the new Juniper Ridge series. This has lots of fun times with a bit of mystery thrown in. Dean Judson and Vanessa Vincent have great chemistry from the start. We get to meet each of his siblings and a few of the new cast members/residents and see the groundwork for future editions in this series. Juniper Ridge is a unique concept for a romance series based on several different popular reality shows. I can’t wait for the next one as Tawna Fenske is quickly becoming an auto buy author for me!
ACTION!!!
When Vanessa Vincent accepted the position as the CFO of the new reality TV show being put together by the Judson family…she probably didn’t realize what she was signing up for! But one thing is for sure…she is NOT interested in a relationship! I mean…she even put it on her resume!
Dean (AKA Bossman), also adamant about staying relationship free, falls off the wagon as soon as Vanessa walks into the interview.
Between the snakes, fears, the purse full of EVERYTHING, and the whole concept of this series…I AM HOOKED! Author Tawna Fenske has taken the rom-com-suspense trope up a notch! Wait…is rom-com-suspense even a trope??? Hmmm…I guess it is now! LOL
I loved the direction the author has taken the Ponderosa series in this new spin-off with Juniper Ridge! The characters, setting, storyline, family dynamic, and all over basis of this book and series is one that will surely not disappoint! I Loved this fun, hot, mysterious storyline and look forward to reading the books that follow! 5-movie-stars! 😉
