In the electrifying fourth book in the bestselling Thomas Prescott series, Prescott must prove a horrific crime in a small town is tied to Big Biotech.
When retired homicide detective Thomas Prescott learns he’s inherited a 250-acre farm in Tarrin, Missouri (pop. 2,100), he can’t get there fast enough. As he … can’t get there fast enough. As he slowly acclimates to small town living, he hears rumblings about a horrific crime in the town’s past. Four years earlier, a recently fired employee of the local grocery store enacted his revenge, shooting and killing the owner of the store, plus four customers, then turning the gun on himself. The crime appears to have been solved, but Prescott has his doubts.
Balancing farm life and a budding romance with the town veterinarian, Prescott begins reinvestigating the crime. On the surface, the case is cut and dry—a revenge killing gone bad. But what if revenge wasn’t the motive? What if the store owner wasn’t the target?
One by one, Prescott delves into the victims’ pasts. As Prescott digs deeper, he discovers the murders were twenty years in the making and soon finds himself in the unfamiliar waters of Big Biotech, GMOs, political payoffs, hired mercenaries, and the shadowy past of one of the most hated companies in the world.

I love all of Nick Pirog’s books. He’s an outstanding author, extremely creative and able to come up with characters you love, and premises you’ve never dreamed of. Show Me is a novel whose main character, Thomas Prescott, is a sort of retired police detective, having been, well…forced to “retire”. He now finds himself helping the FBI with cases. Prescott is sarcastic and hysterically funny at the same time. He swears a lot, can be grumpy & rumpled, but you’ll love him anyway, and follow him as he solves the crimes & mysteries. You’ll love the piglets too. Oh did I forget to mention there’s piglets? Piglets! Yes! You cannot go wrong with piglets, right?
Wow, great read! Nick Pirog, skilled Author that he is, weaves a great read in Show Me. Serious plot and yet he is able to made me laugh throughout the book as well…and that friends is ART. Serious malfeasance is uncovered in the little local town where he inherits a farm and two little piglets, with Thomas Prescott’s perseverance and detecting. Thomas always get the culprits and brings justice where justice belongs. Kudos to Mr. Pirog for this one in the Thomas Prescott series which is not to be missed. I highly recommend this book. ENJOY!! I DID!!
All his books are well written and highly entertaining!!
Great book!
Love the Thomas Prescott series. Looking forward to the next book to see where the author will be taking us. You get to know the main character well. He has his ups and downs like the real world. Quirky and funny. Just overall a good read.
Love Nick Pirog. A Thomas Prescott novel is always worth reading.
the main character is unique. The setting & storyline show a stumbling guy with a heart that accepts and doesn’t give up. The ending was not what I expected.
Loved the entire series. Want more
The main character is smart and funny. I found myself caught up in the story and wanting to know how it ended.
I loved this book. I really like the main character, Thomas. This is the 3rd Nick Priog book with Thomas Prescott and I have enjoyed all of them. Thomas is so funny and I find myself laughing out loud at his wise cracking. The books have an order and since they are so good I would recommend reading them in order because he does refer to past experiences, but it isn’t absolutely necessary. I learned a lot with this one in particular. It deals a lot with the environment and farming and I found it fascinating. After the book is finished the author gives a lot of information that connects to the story and I also found that fascinating.
Thoroughly enjoyable. Was hooked on this author when I read 3 a.m. So glad he wrote another that just keeps you interested and guessing till the end.
Was a good read.
Love all books by Nick Pirog. Have re-read them all and I am so ready for a new release from him!
Enjoyed the book and felt it was well written. My kind of book.
I love just about everything about this book.
I liked it enough to get his other books. High praise from me.
Love this author.
Fun, Fast and Funny.
Oh. My. Goodness. Can this guy write, or what! Not that it comes as a surprise, since I’ve read his other books, but I think I may have slightly forgotten just how clever Nick Pirog is (consequently, how clever Thomas Prescott is). Having been sick while I read it made me doubly grateful for how well it engrossed me in the story.
Often, when I’m reading, I find myself wondering about what kind of research the author must have undertaken to learn so much, and this was no exception. Be sure and read what Mr. Pirog has to say AFTER the story ends!
Good read. Sometimes Thomas’ smart mouth gets on the nerves. Interesting story, good plot. Not sure how I feel about the ending, maybe more payback?
