I loved the reverse age gap and that couple was magnificent! Ashley (Ella’s daughter ) was over the top! Who’s the mom and who’s the daughter? Back off girl!! Rebecca, are you kidding me!! You threw a good man away b/c of your greed and selfishness, and you never deserved him in the first place! Queen biotch! Grrrr…. I loved that Ella took the high road and didn’t cower when Rebecca confronted her with lies, and the payback was so sweet! Gotta love Gram telling the adult kids the way things are! Go Gram! Grow up adults! I give kudos to Neal for his grace under fire and integrity and strength of character in difficult life situations. He remained a man of honor throughout despite the grenades lobbed his way. From the couples at that last party in the story, it seems like there is more than enough material fore more stories and characters!!
Great story! Just goes to show you- everything happens for a reason. And in this case a cheated-on, soon-to-be divorcé and a widow, still in her prime find love in the best possible way. I also loved reading about an older couple who still had tons of passion inside. Two thumbs up!
This book was such a delightful change of pace with the older woman/younger man storyline that was so well written and the characters were written with such great detail and depth that as I turned each and every page Ella and Neal pulled me right along on their journey as it effortlessly unfolded!
This is the sequel to Show Me How To Leave You #9. I wanted an HEA for Neal after how horrible he was disrespected by his wife Rebecca. This starts with Ella, 55, noticing Neal, 49, at an airport and then through the “luck” of having a child passenger vomit on her seat so that she got bumped up to first class next to Neal.
Ella who has been the responsible wife-now-widow, daughter, grandmother, and worker decides to throw caution to the wind and take a chance on Neal. This was much to the chagrin of her daughter Ashley.
I loved that Ella had a real life to deal with that she was afraid to share with Neal who is in the process of getting divorced from a younger wife. He has no kids and wishes that he did; Ella cannot give him kids and she helps to take care of her mother.
Neal introduces Ella to the hotwifing lifestyle that he had with Rebecca. This causes Ella to explore her sexuality, but also wonder if she can satisfy his kinky side. Neal wonders whether Ella will be disillusioned or balk at what he wants sexually.
Then Rebecca shows up to cause trouble, and Ella and Neal had to deal with her. Then that final scene with Rebecca! OMG.
Ella finally found her voice, herself, and a love worth fighting for. Neal found himself, his way out of a bad marriage, and into the love he needed.
I originally got an advance reading copy, but loved it so much I bought my own.
A chance meeting in the San Francisco Airport changes the lives of Neal Thomas and Ella Hammond in ways that they could not have imagined. Ella’s is on her way to visit her daughter and grandchildren after her husband’s death and Neal is still dealing with a wife who cheated on him and the destruction of his marriage. When circumstances place Ella in the seat next to him, he is attracted to her mature beauty while Ella’s thoughts, about Neal, surprise her with her intimate interest in this man. Will Neal’s soon to be ex-wife make things difficult for him when she learns about Ella? Will Ella be interested in Neal’s more adventurous life style? A wonderful, sensuous story of a man who realizes that he stayed in a destructive relationship, giving up his family and friends. Ella knows that she is still an affectionate and loving woman who needs and deserves an intimate relationship with a man who will offer her all that she desires. I absolutely loved that this story revolved around a 55 year old grandma! At 51, I loved how this book showed that we are not dead after 35. Show Me How To Love You was super sexy-hot, very romantic and an all-around great story. Ella is a wonderful character. Not weak or mousy but slightly insecure regarding romance. After all she’s 55 and a grandma. Society tells us that we are not desirable anymore. All of those stereo types are “blown out of the water”. Do yourself a favor and read a great reminder that we women are desirable at any age!
From the hopeful opening lines to the heartfelt final lines, Show Me How to Love You satisfies on every level. Although it is the second in a duet of novels about a chap named Neal who was used and abused in his marriage, one doesn’t need to read the first book at all in order to understand the triumph of a character finding genuine love and learning how to recognize it and hold on to it. Rebecca, Neal’s wife, took their sex play outside the bedroom further than Neal could live with. Despite what you might assume, Ella, the heroine of this novel, is not her complete opposite, except in emotional content. Reading the book, we see all the familiar elements we expect from Jasmine Haynes at her best—eroticism, romance, a frustrating conflict resolved in a satisfying but suspenseful manner, a very realistic depiction of what it means to live and love in our modern world, and an authentic understanding of what makes two people connect. If you enjoy romance and erotica, look no further than Jasmine Haynes—she is quite simply the best.

I was excited for Show Me How To Love You after reading the prequel a few months ago but it just didn’t fully work for me. I loved that it was empowering, showing that you’re never too old to experience new things, embrace your sexuality, fall in love among others. However I didn’t like the way Neal kept comparing Ella and his ex, it and some things annoyed me took away from my overall enjoyment of the story. That said I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Wow, Neal sure surprised me this time. To me, this is one of the best so far in this series. I really didn’t think he was ready and Ella is such a giving and compassionate person. I think he was drawn to her because of that and the lack of that with Rebecca. Rebecca shows her true age and so does Ella, yes!!! I’m still shocked at Neal but I am so glad that he finally seems to grow….up. Their attraction is off the charts and so is the opposition but I am glad that Neal got a chance to show his true self and turns out although he is kinky, he is very supportive and considerate. I enjoyed it! This story, like the others in this series, is loaded with steam, but my favorite elements relate to the 55 year-old heroine’s navigation through the stormy seas of losing a spouse, arriving at her post-menopause years, and dealing with a parent fading into Alzheimer’s forgetfulness and frailty. Ella suddenly finds herself the object of a handsome, slightly younger man’s attentions after they are thrown together on a cross-country flight and finds she really likes the boost to her self image. Her family not so much! I really liked Ella and the calm, collected way she deals with her family. And it’s refreshing to read about a mature woman with a strong libido, a sense of adventure, and a new chance at passion and love.
Neal, the hero, is plagued by his manipulative wife who is just SO aptly named. Rebecca, as cold and conniving as Maxim de Winter’s dead wife in Daphne duMaurier’s Rebecca, is the perfect obstacle to a smooth-sailing romance with Ella. I pitied Neal and the way Rebecca treated him and was waiting for him to “break the chains.”. His courting of Ella had some lovely moments.
My two favorite secondary characters were Dorothy, Ella’s forgetful mother who has her inspired moments, and Tony, Ella’s peacekeeping son-in-law.
The epilogue is chockful of Neal’s colleagues and their partners, the subjects of previous books in the series. I would not recommend skipping the epilogue if you have not read the whole series but, be aware, it could be confusing. But if you want to learn if Rebecca gets her just desserts, stay the course to the end.
Hold on tight gals, this is yet another cracker from this brilliant author…
I won’t go into the story itself too much as the blurb & previous reviewers have covered that in detail. What I can tell you was that it was yet another flawless read, an attraction that pulled at my heart strings. It was full of drama, essentially from his soon to be ex who was beyond toxic, they featured in Show Me How To Leave You & a little bit of concern from her adult children as their Dad had only died a year ago, forgetting that he had been unwell for 2 years prior. She was still a very attractive woman & young enough to move on with her life. Luck or fate had her upgraded to first class on a flight where she met a dreamboat of a man, they clicked, he wanted to see her again. Their sexual attraction couldn’t be denied could he take her to an even kinkier level? Yes! He found the woman he needed more than breath to heal from his vicious wife & she found she could open her heart to love & to toe curling sex she’d never experienced before. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
This was another great addition to the Naughty After Hours Series. This story actually began in the previous book, Show Me How To Leave You. That book detailed all the drama Neal dealt with what is now his ex-wife. A chance meeting in the San Francisco airport between Neal and Ella forever changed their lives. A second chance at love. A cute older woman, younger man romance that’s over the top at times. Lots of family dynamics and over the top romantic comedy at times. Once I started reading I found this book hard to put down. Great characters, plenty of steamy scenes, and no shortage of drama. Twists, surprises, and some interesting events. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.
I’m not sure I know where to start on a review for this book. This story started in Show Me How to Leave You. There is so much going on but all seems to be as normal lives happen. No one seems to ever deal with one issue at a time and that sure could be said for these characters. Ella’s life is already so full that it would appear she has not a second extra. Her mom requires care, she just lost a husband that she had to be a caretaker to, she has children and grandchildren who need attention and she would like a life for herself.
Neal has been living a life fitting more for a younger guy. His wife Rebecca is not really wife material. She fits more the playboy bunny image. He has decided he can’t deal with all and decides to divorce her. She again proves how mean and awful she is. Her selfishness comes back to bite her.
Neal and Ella are instantly attracted to each other and their journey to being together is filled with sex, really hot sex, friendship, disasters and a few other things. It is a entertaining journey to read about. Neither character actually fit the mold they first appear as. Ella isn’t quite as stiff laced as first appearances portray her. Neal isn’t quite the player he would appear to be. I really enjoyed this story. The secondary characters added so much to the story. The sex is more than hot. There is a somewhat hea but yet there is so much more to be told. I can’t wait for the next story.
I absolutely loved this book and devoured it in hours. Loved how a situation occurs that had Ella upgrading to first class seat next to Neal. He finds himself so charmed by her and wants to know everything about her. She’s so opposite of his wife Rebbeca whom he just left. But will her kids accept him? What will Rebecca do? She’s the vengeful type. Ella is so good for him and my heart melts for him as he realizes what true love feels like. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.
