Audiobook narrated by Sebastian York!! Gerald Wright works for billionaires. He never imagined he’d become one.The former Navy Seal is a chauffeur by day, artist by night, so when hotter-than-ever ex-fiancée Suzanne Dayton interrupts his nude model sculpting class to serve him with inheritance paperwork from a man he’s never heard of, he assumes it’s a joke.Turns out the joke’s on him. There’s … assumes it’s a joke.
Turns out the joke’s on him. There’s just one catch. A big one.
And it might be Suzanne — in more ways than he ever dreamed.
Shopping for an Heir continues the New York Times bestselling Shopping for a Billionaire series by Julia Kent. This book is a STANDALONE. You do not need to have read earlier books int he series, but once you read this, you’ll want to. ;)more
Dumb. Old (80+) ladies taking a class in nude art
finished it a couple of days ago. I can’t remember a thing about it. Good enough to finish – not good enough to remember
Another twist on Billionaire romance this time with ex-military characters.
Reading this now….loving it. But also read her previous books in this series.
foul language could have been curtailed…..not necessary.
Didn’t care for it
escape story; predictable and simple – sometimes that’s what’s needed!
I enjoy Julia Kent’s books–she has wonderful characters, and pairs couples who are entertaining together. In this book, I particularly liked that Gerald and Suz were able to share straightforward and honest communication, even when those conversations were painful.
This book was a great addition to the “Shopping for a Billionaire” series by Julia Kent.
Kept my interest and loved so many of the class ladies.
This was a really intertaining read, there were lots of humorous scenes. I really enjoyed that this was a light hearted book.
A little unusual with the mystical artifact. Glad they found each other again.
I just like this book. It didn’t hold my intetest
A very simple romance.
While the books are Excellent reading when you want anything lighthearted. I made the mistake of ordering the entire series and binge reading them. While the series is light and entertaining with some wonderful characters (Momzilla), by the time you get to the 10th book you are getting really bored. My recommendation would be to read them in blocks of 4 to 5 books each.
I have read just about every one of Julia Kent’s book and have throughly enjoyed each and every one!
3.5
Gerald is an ex-Navy SEAL who is a chauffeur/bodyguard for the wealthy McCormick family whose passion is sculpting. Suzanne is a lawyer, former solider, and Gerald’s ex-fiancee. It has been ten years since Gerald broke her heart and disappeared, but now Suzanne has to take him through an inheritance he has received. They both have lots of unresolved feelings from their breakup, though, so their interactions are a bit awkward. Especially since she comes to a sculpting class he is teaching at the community center, featuring a nude model – his friend Declan, who she represents as well.
Gerald’s inheritance is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, if he sells. The terms of the estate are that Suzanne must personally handle Gerald’s inheritance and advise him of all his options. Her company wants her to pressure him to sell to a buyer that has contacted them as well. She wants nothing to do with the man who broke her heart. Gerald wants another chance with Suzanne.
What I liked: Suzanne’s friend Kari made me laugh out loud. She is outstanding and their friendship is great. My favorite part of the whole book was their Pokemon Go conversation. Everyone needs a Kari in their corner. Suzanne’s misadventures in dating were entertaining, too. I also liked Gerald’s friendships with Declan and Vince.
What I didn’t like: Something was missing, and I’m not sure what. This should have been an engrossing book – a mystery inheritance, secret buyers, a second chance with the love of their life – but it just fell flat to me.
Overall: It’s okay. I’m sure it’s better if you’re already a fan of the series. Not a bad read for a free book, though.
This was not my favorite book by this author. I picked this book because of the author but was disappointed that it didn’t hold my interest. I had a hard time staying interested in the storyline.
Funny (but not hilarious) cross between romantic comedy and romantic suspense. The best characters were the little old ladies.
