There’s … assumes it’s a joke.
Turns out the joke’s on him. There’s just one catch. A big one.
And it might be Suzanne — in more ways than he ever dreamed.
Shopping for an Heir continues the New York Times bestselling Shopping for a Billionaire series by Julia Kent. This book is a STANDALONE. You do not need to have read earlier books int he series, but once you read this, you’ll want to. ;)more
Loved it
I have read books in the series and each one is terrific. Suzanne & Gerald were together 10 years before while they were in the military. They were going to get married. Then he broke it off. Now she is the attorney in charge of notification of heirs, and Gerald is to receive one. Can they find their love again.
Military man, check. Twist on standard Billionaire tropes, check. Page turner, check. Great read and a fun journey.
Shopping for for an Heir by Julia Kent was was yet another hilarious ride through the world of billionaires and their girlfriends. This one was a bit more serious with the issues which it dealt with, it wasn’t all doom and gloom with a totally brooding hero.
Gerald, a former Seal now turned chauffeur by day, sculptor by night hasn’t seen his ex-fiancee crashed back into his life. He hasn’t seen her for a decade and now she’s in his life with inheritance papers.
But, even though they haven’t been together in years the old embers of attraction don’t take long to burst into flames.
There were some serious issues dealt with in this tenth book of the series, but we still got a lighthearted fun filled story to while away an afternoon.
I listened to the audio version of this book and absolutely loved it. To be honest, the narration by Sebastian York may have pushed it to 5 Stars instead of 4 Stars for me. I’m usually not into books about billionaires, but the billionaire facet was almost like a minor part in the book.
I loved the laugh out loud moments in the book (think naughty old ladies and a very hunky male nude model for an art class). The internet dates that Suzanne went on were also snort worthy. I also liked that Gerald and Suzanne had a past together and each had never gotten over the other. It just made the whole process of them coming together that much sweeter. The PTSD that Gerald is dealing with in the book gave a smack of reality.
Overall, Julia Kent wrote a book both hilarious and hot–sometimes hilariously hot (if that makes sense). Sebastian York’s performance gives just the right drawing out to emphasize the dry humor to perfection! I think there’s a little more to this book than the cover would lead you to believe . Listen to it if you can. You won’t be sorry!
Gerald Wright is a chauffeur by day, artist by night. Gerald works for billionaires. He has found a normal life until his hotter-than-ever ex-fiancée Suzanne Dayton interrupts his nude model sculpting class to serve him with inheritance paperwork from a man he’s never heard of, he assumes it’s a joke. How wrong he is! This is real and comes with a big headache.
I really love Julia Kent’s characters and she always pulls me into the characters’ lives and I love every minute of it. This book is for anyone who loves romance. It’s a little spicy but not to bad so 17+ will be just fine. I enjoyed this book but it’s not as funny as the rest of the Shopping series. Don’t get me wrong there is several laughing moments but just not as many as the other books in this series. I give this book a 4 because I really enjoyed the story and the writing.
This entire series is amazing!
Julia Kent is my favorite author, books are funny funny as well
A truly funny romance series! Love these original well written stories and characters. On to book 11!!
Fun filled with more than one HEA and leaving you want to read more.
Great read and wonderful accompaniment to the rest of the “Shopping” series.
You can never go wrong with any book that Julius Kent has written. Be ready for a hilarious, sexy books. This is part of a series and I fully advise that you start from book one. You will be buying every book after you start. Enjoy!
while I love this author and her style this book fell short. It seems like the main characters were not fully developed or maybe the story line was too short…..I am not sure but I really felt a bit let down with this one!!
Loved this story. It was very realistic and held my interest.
I think this might be my favorite book in the series. The characters are likable and ver entertaining!
Liked the book and enjoyed that the main character was a very giving and unselfish.
Blah story, generated no empathy with characters
