This is NOT a standalone novel, you must first read Destiny (Last Moment Series Book 1) to understand where this story begins and takes place.Alexandra “Alex” Walton and the members of her band were given an amazing opportunity when Destiny brought them together. Now that Last Moment has proven their talent, Alex has caught the eye of none other than sexy rock star Noah Dreagan, the lead singer … Dreagan, the lead singer of Carnal Imagination. Regardless of the fact that she has a boyfriend, Noah is determined to do whatever it takes to keep her around.
The music industry is an overwhelming place. One side can be fun and exciting, while another can be shady and dark. Craziest of all is that careers can be made or broken overnight.
What is in the cards for Alex and Last Moment? Will the fans and industry welcome them with open arms? Or will they struggle to even be heard, just trying to get in the door?
When your band is flaming hot one minute, you can end up ice cold the next. Fame can have you soaring high, then falling fast and fading away, just like Shooting Stars.

This is the second book in the series and book one, Destiny, needs to be read first. I would also recommend not reading this review if you haven’t read the first book.
Alexandra Walton has just been given the opportunity of a lifetime when her band, Last Moment, has a chance of going on tour with Carnal Imagination. Luckily she has her long time boyfriend and lawyer, Ryan Stewart, by her side to help her navigate the contract side of everything.
But as Alex begins her new life on tour will she have time for Ryan or will the chemistry she has with Noah out a strain on her and Ryan?
Can Alex manage to have the career she has always dreamed of and continue having a successful relationship or will the pressure destroy everything?
I struggled with the writing in the first book and unfortunately that continued with this book as well. I found the dialogue just seemed to perfect to me and a lot of the book just seemed to forced.
I liked Alex and I was happy that she was able to achieve her dream musically. I thought her character was genuine but I also found her naïve to a certain extent. She faced a lot of uncertainty in this book and it was interesting watching how she faced everything.
It’s hard to write a lot without spoiling things but I wasn’t impressed with how the author handled Ryan as to me things were not believable at all. I understood why she did what she did at the beginning but it was so out of character.
I also wasn’t impressed with how everything was handled with Noah either. It felt so creepy to me and very forced. There was a lot of chemistry between the two that came out on stage but I hated how everything was written as I found myself flipping through the pages fast.
I liked the members of the band but I hated how Alex was put between the two buses and used as she was. I was surprised that nothing in her contract prevented that.
At the beginning of the book and I saw the way things were headed I told myself if it ended a certain way that I would never pick up another book by this author. I’m glad to say that it didn’t come to that but I was surprised at the way love just seemed to vanish pretty quick.
The end of the book was good and I was happy at how it ended and I was happy for Alex. I just really wish I was able to connect more with the book and the writing.

Book 2 in the Last Moment series and it was a great read. It was so much fun watching Alex and the band navigate through a tour and issues in their personal lives and careers in general. This series was the first that I have read from this author and it won’t be my last.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
An unexpected love story! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
The second book in this series is just what you expected from the rockstar lifestyle. I loved reading about the rock life and how the choices they make about their careers. There were turns that this book took had me turning the pages….I can’t wait to see where Last Moment goes from here.
I loved this story!
Shooting Stars took up where Destiny left off. Alex and the guys of the Last Moment band’s journey made for a very enjoyable story! As did Alex’s romantic life. It was an up and down ride through both! Alex had many choices to make concerning her love life. You will not be disappointed with where this story will take you! The Last Moment series is fantastic! I hope we hear more from the band! I can’t wait to see what Clara gives us next!
Alex Walton and the rest of Last Moment return in this tale of love and life on the road that picks up right where the previous book in this compelling series left off. With her band earning the coveted spot of opening act for the popular Carnal Imagination things are speeding along for them amidst the glitz and glamour of the rockstar world and it leads to lots of unexpected twists and turns. The biggest twists and turns involve who will claim Alex’s heart as there’s plenty of delicious candidates vying for the role. Among the candidates is Noah Dreagan, lead singer for Carnal Imagination, whose first meeting with Alex teemed with sensuality and whose flirty interactions with her here made their connection crackle even more. There’s much about Noah that’s familiar when it comes to rockstars but I still enjoyed seeing the two of them bond over music and more. Other attractions came from surprising individuals, some I totally sensed in the previous book while some were new to this story, but it all added even more angst to this story that wrung me out at times. Alex’s HEA was ultimately a journey full of rocky twists and turns but by the final page I found myself satisfied by her decision and yet hoping to return to this world as there’s other characters whose stories need to be told.
Alex is a likable heroine whose confidence grows as the story progresses. She’s strong-willed on her own but I very much enjoyed her flirty interludes with others as it was nice to see her do something for herself instead of what was best for the band. Along with this strong lead heroine came her equally self-assured friend Paige, an outspoken support to Alex who had her own romantic intrigue playing out in the background and who I’d love to see more of in the future. The remaining members of Last Moment were a sexy bunch with each of them tempting me wholeheartedly. They too deserve to take center stage and here’s hoping that Ms. Fox brings them back. While I was completely caught up in the emotional parts of the story I was equally captivated by the rockstar imagery. Ms. Fox realistically depicted their chaotic life on the road along with the glamour and sensuality of being on stage and I felt like a voyeur when it came to these scenes and I applaud her presentation. Fans of rockstar romances will find this a very satisfying addition to the genre and will enjoy Alex’s rollercoaster ride to HEA.
Alex and Last Moment come into their own in Shooting Stars. They find the success they had been looking for, and they become more than friends, they become family.
This is really more of a rockstar journey than a romance or a love story, and I appreciated that. Alex grows and develops into a really strong, independent woman with no need for a man to give her identity. Yes, she does end up with someone, though I won’t say whom, but their relationship is a minor part of this story. You’ll probably be surprised by whom, but happy, too, just like I was. She gets closure on some things, and it helps round out her and the band’s story. All in all, the first two stories in this series are an awesome rockstar ride.
I so loved this book. This story follows Alex and the Last Moment band and their musical tour. I loved that Alex was such a strong heroine and as you follow her on her journey she has to make difficult decisions in her personal life and about her career. If you love a great Rock Star romance then you will love this book, I highly recommend it.
This is the 2nd book in this awesome series and this series need to be read in order. This is a well written tale which has angst and is an entertaining read. I loved reading about how their careers develop and grow, the choices to be made not just with career but with as personal lives as well. I was totally captivated throughout this riveting page turner, and I highly recommend for all rock star romance stories.
SO IN LOVE! I love a good rockstar romance especially when it’s so well written – add in an insanely strong heroine and you have a FIVE STAR read for sure! I had no clue where this story was going to go and I loved every minute of it! I cannot wait for more!!
Shooting Stars is book 2 in the Last Moment series and does need to be read in book order. I loved Shooting Stars so much. There is just something about these rock stars and watching the journey from opening act to stardom. You will just love who Alex ends up with by the end of this book. Lets just say I saw it but I didn’t see it. If you read book one then you know where it left off. You will follow the start of the tour and all the ups and downs that Alex goes through. She has this amazing mind for music and you can just tell Last Moment is going to be big. You will not be disappointed all where Clara Fox brings you by the end of the Shooting Stars. It was everything I wanted and more. If you love rock star reads then go pick this one up today.
